I have been coming to this particular cleaners for awhile now so I felt the time had come to write them a review, especially since no other Unilocaler has touched this place in awhile. I started coming here initially simply because it was the closest place to my house and I am lazy. What has since transpired, and is a trait that I am well lamented for, is I fell into my typical«creature of habit» routine and now come here about once a week. Ironing just about anything is a task I would just as soon gargle Draino as to do, so suffice to say that finding a dry cleaner I could trust was a pretty high priority for me when I first moved to this area 6 months ago. I only see 2 people ever when I come here. It’s either a jolly old Asian gentleman who always greets me warmly or his(I think?) wife. They are both super friendly to me and hearing them enthusiastically say«Hewwo Wobby» Elmer Fudd style when I walk in the front door always manages to put a smile on my face. The gentleman has a fairly good grasp of English, but the female? Not so much. Since I have yet to take up Mandarin Chinese as a hobby, I have developed a sort of non-verbal/gesture communication system with her that has seemed to work just fine. Most importantly, this place has always done a fantastic job on my clothing. I nearly always drop my stuff off to be picked up the next day, but they have hooked me up faster when I have been in a bind. On one occasion, they were literally pressing up my dinner jacket and slacks while I was waiting in the lobby. They even insisted on charging me regular price too. It was a favor that I was VERY appreciative of, which is one of the reasons I always go back. Another huge benefit to this place is how cheap it is. Such an awesome value! You will quite literally pay almost double a half-mile down the street in Schaumburg. Another thing I have seemed to notice over time is that I am now charged significantly less than when I first started coming here. Since this is a Mom and Pop joint, I am guessing they have their own informal«player pricing» for those that are frequent customers. Personally, I will take this type of system over another lame customer loyalty card to add to an already cluttered wallet or a bar-coded tab to add to my key ring.

Peter Pan Cleaners will make you feel like a kid again… by shrinking your shirts. I never had this problem at other cleaners. I ended up going to a much more expensive place in Barrington for dry cleaning service before moving away. Should’ve known the place was sketch by the name.

I didn’t get any 10% cleaning discount. I brought a brand new dress in for dry cleaning because a drop of face moisturizer got on it, as I was getting ready to leave the house. ugh. Anyhow, I came here since it was the closest to home. The man(I’m assuming owner) seemed kind enough to evaluate the ability of repair… he said it was kind of iffy. Paid $ 10 for a cleaning(is that even normal? seemed a lot to me…) and when I picked it up, the stain was gone, but I think i saw faint traces of black pen mark on it. Dear God. Again, it was brand new. I didn’t want to make accusations and really couldn’t wait any longer. I just don’t know if I’ll give this place another chance after that.

Nice family-owned business that has been in this location since the dawn of time. They are so friendly and have always been gentle with my clothes. Their tailoring is excellent as well. I’ve had jackets, pants, and shirts tailored and have been completely satisfied each time. Now I’m a guy, but I know how my clothes should fit… CLOTHESHORSEALERT! If you pay for your cleaning up front, they will also give you a 10% discount. I recommend it since their track record has been so good.
