We saw this when we went to another store at the same strip mall and decided we’d give it a shot. My wife and I went here around 6pm on Sunday. Restaurant was empty. There was a buffet and the food looked ok so we decided to try it. From this point on our experience was terrible. Most of the dishes were cold(I’m not kidding)…completely cold except I think the fried chicken. The dishes did not have labels on them. The food was sub par and I don’t think even if the food was warm/hot it would have made a difference. Service was fine and friendly. We will definitely not be going here again.

I was here this past Sunday with my family for their buffet, which features the interesting combo of Filipino and Chinese dishes. Guess it’s not an Asian buffet without egg drop soup and crab rangoon. First about the place itself… it’s clean, fairly large, but too cold! Everyone was eating with their jackets on, and when my dad asked them to turn up the heat, he didn’t get a straight answer. A lot of the food was lukewarm too, which was really disappointing. They had maybe 12 dishes, which isn’t much compared to some of the cheap $ 7 Chinese buffets most are used to, but about right for a Filipino buffet. Most of the dishes were Filipino, except for what I mentioned above. The lechon kiwali was good, and they give a nice variety of sauces for it. The sinigang was decent, but I prefer mine several magnitudes more sour. I was very happy to see they included hot dogs in their menudo, something my grandma does but not many restaurants do. Avoid the leche flan. Overall there are better Filipino places within a half hour from GC, but it’s not too bad. I am always happy to see a new Filipino restaurant, though, and wish them luck. Just wish they’d turn the heat up a bit, especially with Chicago winter coming up… Sidenote: Kind of sad they call themselves«Golden Chopsticks» and use Chinese lettering when Filipinos neither use a character-based writing system nor chopsticks to eat. Looking at the menu you’d think that it primarily was a Chinese restaurant, but the buffet leaned towards Filipino. The owners are Filipino and the karaōke set-up they have screams Filipino, but I guess you have to do what makes business sense. /end rant

One of the best places for Korean style Chinese food. Definitely way better than China House, but not as good as Yu’s.
