The Dragon Inn has been my favorite since 1970, especially on date night.
The last visit was fun!
I ate at the bar while their pleasant hostess kept me company.
(Since the Dragon Inn dates back to 1967, there is much to talk about.)
My meal was a daily special w/​the entrée, Shrimp Sauté.
Afterwards, I wanted to try the Wonton Soup, which was also good.
The atmosphere is peaceful and meals are always served with grace.
I’d love to see a Egg Roll & wine bar, while enjoying the Cantonese charm!

I ordered szechuan chicken and got chicken with brown gravy and one hot pepper in it. Edible, but devoid of any flavor. Pot stickers were good. Shrimp toast was good. It was grilled cheese with shrimp cut small on tooth picks. Also had steak and pea pods. Overwhelming amount of flat pea pods. Heavy gravy again. Yucky. Won’t be going back.

I called in my order at 6:21pm, for pick-​up in 25 – 30 minutes, I was told. I arrived at 7. At 7:28pm I walked out the door, one minute before I reached my «refund my money time limit». Yes! 1:07mins wait for carry-​out Chinese food. The order was simple and small, 4 items. There was one couple dining in, and two pick-​up orders awaiting, not so patiently.
The food is better than average, but we have a few Asian food options in Homewood that are better with much better service.
I will not be going back.

I actually don’t think I have anything good to write about this place. Strike 1: We were told 45 – 60 minutes for our food. Arrived 25 minutes late. Strike 2: Asked for a side of their «hot oil» for the potstickers which they forgot. Strike 3: The potstickers were gummy, the szechuan beef was soupy and looked more like stew. Also asked for my entrée to be made «extra spicy» and it barely had any kick at all. And probably the most unforgivable mistake? No fortune cookies.

I have loved the Dragon Inn for years since it was in Glenwood. Followed it to Dyer, Chicago Heights and now to Homewood. My favorite is Dragon Inn Fried Noodles. Tonight I asked them to eliminate the shrimp and substitute with more chicken and pork. It was very good, plenty of meat. As usual, the egg rolls were wonderful. I’m glad they are now in Homewood.

They have only been open a few months. Need a little more time to get organized and liquor license. Food was good. Not exactly the same as Glenwood, but very close.
Dining area is very small, maybe six — eight tables.
Carry out business was popular. Will be back.

Great food, good prices! We have been looking for a good Chinese restaurant since moving from West Rogers Park and this is our favorite! The place has the feel of an old Chinese restaurant — not a dive, but not classy. Comfortable, that’s what the décor is! We enjoy and will return many times over. They do run out of items because they buy fresh. They also make their own chunky sweet and sour sauce and hot mustard.

It was horrible. Absolutely horrible. All 3 dishes we ordered were bad, shrimp smelled and it was slimy. We threw everything out. ZERO STARS FOR THIS ONE!

Dragon inn restaurant in the Homewood area has returned… We have been there about 10 times in the last month and their food has been excellent… Their wonton soup, egg rolls, and crab Rangoon is excellent as well as the chicken egg foo yung, chicken with pea pods, chicken with walnuts, chicken chop suey… etc… Try it… You won’t be disappointed

Horrible potstickers-​the thickest dough ice ever seen. Out of many vegetables but didn’t say anything. I guess they didn’t think we’d notice. Charged 7.50 tax on a 22 dollar lunch. Oh, they did thank me for catching that. We will not be back.
