Be careful bringing clothes here for alterations. The staff speak very poor English and unless you write detailed instructions on paper and take photos you will come back to find your clothes with the wrong work done. And it’s very expensive. But conveniently located.

I wouldn’t go here. I took my suit to get cleaned because it was close to work. I opted for the one day turn around service since i needed my suit back the next day. All I can say is I’ll never be back again. My brand new suit that I only worn 3 times came back ruined. The jacked was wrinkled. I looked like when they ironed it/​pressed it they left the heat on the long. I took it to another dry cleaning place to have it pressed again. That is when I was informed there was nothing they could do because it was ruined. They tried pressing it again but it was no use. I will never use this service again. Horrible service… spend the little more and get it done right. Don’t be the next victim of shaddy work.

Oh my gosh! She was charging $ 75. For 2 slacks, a baby dress & hem on one pair. I told her that’s outrageous, I just paid &17. For 3 pieces here not too long ago. She looked at me & said oh well, price go up. She was never even said hello @ time of greeting. I understand some cultures appear to be mean, but this lady was flat out rude & I almost felt as if that was her way of refusing service & pushing me away. Never again!

Our concierge called around Honolulu to find a dry cleaner that could press a suit same day. We excitedly drove to the mall to utilize the 1 hour turn around service he said this business offered. The lady working here was incredibly rude. She said everyone left. I think she just didn’t want to iron. She was sweeping up and seemed just not to care. My husband was very upset after driving here at the advice of a trusted concierge. I want the owner to know how terrible the service is here. If it was a communication problem that should be addressed well. I would like to give zero stars.

I took my St John dress here. Nothing fancy but just a plain easter dress. The attendant noticed the brand and began to register it in the computer. I was given a reciept for $ 21.00. Whoa ! For a dress. Well no choice since its the closest to my place. After 3 days i picked it up and the attendant took my ticket, and gave me a different ticket for $ 49. Whaaat! I was told that the prices are different based on the label of the dress. So ifts labeled forever21 with same fabric it would be cheaper. I told them that they should ve called and told me ., instead they did a BAIT and SWITCH.
Because my kids are with me I paid it. When i got home, I told my husband about it. We went back and demanded our money back.,. It was very suspicious that they asked where we live or we are from out of town. I feel this establishment has done this to many clients especially the Japanese tourists who doesnt know the law. I will never support this store again. U are better off going somewhere else. Bottom line, prices should never be based on brand but on type of fabric.

I was having a light jacket cleaned and an alteration done to a shirt. At the time of drop off, I also brought in a pants that I had hemmed about a year ago. It was a while before I wanted to use it when I discovered the two lengths were different by about a half inch. Because I live far away, Idid not have a chance to bring it in sooner so I figured Iwould bring it in and see if they would correct the problem. I’ve used them a few times before. Aside from being convenient, they are abut pricey. I did not have the receipt, but the (lady with glasses) found the record on her computer. Because I did not have a paper receipt, she said I would have to pay to have it fixed. «How do I know that maybe you screwed up this pants?» Again she said she would have to charge me to fix the hem. At that point I told her that I would take it elsewhere. I’ve been in customer service for 40 years. Ive learned to listen and understand a customers frustration. It’s easy to understand when you are on the other side of the counter. These people have a lot to learn. I’m taking my business elsewhere. Maybe you should too.

The girl at the front (sorry I was in such a mess I didn’t remember her name) saved the day! My dress zipper busted for a formal event. Called on a whim asking to get some safety pins to just fix it that way. When I got there she helped me safety pin up my dress… I know it’s not the most beautiful way but it helped us get to attend the event that we paid a lot of money for. You don’t get customer service like that at a lot of places anymore!!! Thank you so much!!!

for sure not cheap. but they are quick. and everything returns perfect. and: they do sewing too. all in all a very positive experience.

If I could give this place a negative star I would! I went there for the first time and when I came in to pick up my dry cleaning and use a coupon which I found… they would not honor it. Yes, it does say that you need to drop the coupon off with your cleaning but sheesh… don’t they want repeat customers? I cleaned one article of clothing and it was $ 34.00. PRICEY!!! It did not help that the lady who helped me was rude! Will not use this place ever again.

I signed up for the Groupon and found out that I had to request a coupon card. Never received it.
Also, they don’t get your clothes clean

This place is a rip off for sure. Why is it so expensive???
Dry cleaning 4 shirts — and it cost over $ 50 with tax!!! What do they use? Diamond dust for dry cleaning chemicals? This is ridiculous.
I was able to get things dry cleaned for ¼ of the cost on the mainland.
Last time I was there, I showed the lady a coupon I found from a shopping guide book because it says it is 40% off to dry clean 4 or more shirts.
Guess what? They wouldn’t honor the coupon — because I didn’t freaking show it when I dropped off my shirts. WTF??? You don’t pay for the bill until you pick up the goods anyway. It wasn’t like I presented the coupon AFTER it was rung up and paid for?
What the flip is the difference WHEN the coupon is shown? Do you use less dry cleaning chemicals if you receive the coupon beforehand to make up for your 40% loss?
Completely absurd. With Foodland gone, this area is a dead zone any way. There is absolutely no reason for me now to fight for a parking space around this construction zone only to get ripped off.
Bad business practice. And please don’t tell me that I should read the fine print. The coupon itself is about 1″ x 1″ in size.
I guess this place doesn’t care about repeat business from their customers.

This place is very misleading the prices are always different. Even overheard on employee talking about up charging the customers. Went to Aiea location and heard employee’s husband or boyfriend yelling at her and cursing in the store with customers right there in the store. Going back to Young’s and staying away from The Jerry Springer Show

if you work at the mall, yes this is the most convenient place to take your clothes to be dry cleaned … however, this is the worst place to EVER take your clothes to.
prior to this experience, i had no problem with them although many others did. i figured because i haven’t had any problems i would continue to use them … BIG MISTAKE!
i took some dry clean only clothes there: 2 silk dresses, 1 scarf, and 1 skirt. the 2 silk dresses are exactly alike one being blue and the other being pink. when i went to pick up my cleaning a couple days later, i noticed immediately that my blue dress was HORRIBLY bleached meaning there were multiple bleach spot on the dress in different areas. i told the associate there at the time that i did not bring in my blue dress like this and that the only damage on there were 2 small dark spots on the bottom front of the dress that i had pointed out when it was first brought in. and the lady insisted that it was brought in like this. i proceeded to tell her that if it was this damaged, why would i even get it cleaned because it is basically ruined? at the same time i was looking over my receipt and noticed that it was rung as a wool item, which concerned me. after questioning the associate on this she stated that it was the same service price and that she is sure it was cleaned appropriately to what the dress material is. still outraged, i asked to speak with a manager, who was not there. she said her manager would be in tomorrow, and since i worked the next day i told her i would just visit back tomorrow.
the next day i visited back, and her manager again was not there. she then proceeded to give me more excuses about my dress which i was not tolerating. i then gave her my number and name to have her manager call me back the day after tomorrow, since the manager was off the next day.
i did not receive a call back for a good week. during this time period we did have the hurricane warning, however this lasted a longer period of time after that. i work in retail management, i am a very patient and understanding person and the service thus far jus made me very upset.
after that time period i called al philips back, saying that i still have not received a call. the associate was confused and stated back my name and number… my number was wrong, she stated my old number, i had given her my new one which she obviously did not pass on. needless to say, i was even more upset! she then gave me her managers number, so that i could finally call her.
i called her manager the next morning on my way into work. she was was very rude over the phone, very stern about me brining in my item that way (even though she wasn’t there. in my opinion I guess she has to be because this happens A LOT). my silk dress cost about $ 400. i told the manager that i was not looking for a full refund on my dress, but at least a refund on the service. she refused to give me back my money, and stated as a courtesy she can give me back merchandise credit. i took that option, as it was my only option, however, made it very clear that i didn’t want it as i would NEVER come back again. so i guess i will be using that credit on something less valuable to me. in the end, the manager said she was sorry, in which i told her if she was really sorry she would do more about it, how hard is it to refund $ 20+ onto my credit card? and to top it all off the whole process took a total of about 2 – 3 weeks, which she didn’t even apologize for.
retail is retail wherever you go, and customer service should always be to how you want to be treated. i hope that by writing this review it helps others chose a dry cleaner that will be more beneficial and customers centric. when you read bad reviews, listen to them and please don’t chance it as i did, as you will probably be like me and regret it.

Had a pair of pants cleaned there as Ala Moana is most convenient.
The staff was friendly and offered me a discount for a first time customer.
My pant were cleaned nicely without a chemical smell
I did ask if there was a frequent customer discount and was told no.
As of today, yes I’ll try Al’s again. From a business standpoint, this company may want a customer rewards program for return customers.

Ridiculous. I needed to press some clothes that I brought over for a wedding. I did a Unilocal search and this was the closest from Waikiki. I was excited since the Ala Moana Shopping Center was on my list to visit. The staff was friendly. The service was a good quality. So what was the issue? How about $ 40 to dry clean 3 products? It would have been cheaper to buy them than dry clean them. Holy crap. When I got back to California, these same three products cost me $ 5. This place is a royal rip off. I only gave one additional star because they were friendly and fast. But at that price, they can always be friendly.

The worst dry cleaners I have ever used. I tried this because of a of groupon deal, It was so bad I asked for my money back. I tried several occasions and still concluded I wasted time, effort and money.

How about I tell the truth, you keep your $ 2 off and I never do business again with you.

This review is for an incident that happened a couple of months ago:
When I was still working at the mall I would take my clothes here to get dry cleaned because it was conveniently located and they offered a mall employee discount. For the first several visits I did not have any problems except for their lack of customer service skills. The seemingly teenage employee always seems to be texting on her cell phone whenever I dropped my clothes off.
On my last visit (which will remain my last visit as I am never going back), I dropped off two dresses to be dry cleaned. I picked them up a couple of days later and noticed that there was a large blue ink stain on the white stripe of my favorite dress (that was not there when I dropped it off). I was horrified! The girl seemed to notice the horror on my face and asked me «Oh. Was this expensive?» (It was a $ 300 dress!) She seemed a little shocked and offered to have it cleaned again at no charge. All I could think about for the next few days was if I had to live with having a big blue stain on my butt. They were able to get the stain out but I can never trust them again!

This dry cleaner is conveniently located at the Ala Moana Shopping Center on the first level near the United States Post Office and Sears. I have brought a couple of large comforters and blankets as well as many items of clothing to get dry cleaned here for almost twenty years just out of convenience. I wished that I had known to look for those 40% off coupons because that really would have helped. Having a large comforter cleaned isn’t cheap!
I haven’t had any awful or extraordinary experiences here that stands out to write about. I just came here purely out of convenience. They got the job done, and I was always in and out pretty quick, which worked well for me on my short lunch breaks.
The only problem is that parking nearby can be pretty sparse (everyone wants covered parking) and it can be quite a pain lugging an over-​sized item from a parking stall on the other side of Sears or even upstairs.
