It was good when it lasted. This was probably the cleanest Arbys on the island and it disappeared overnight. Just when they come out with the Kings Sweetbread buns…

Just found out that this location is closed. White it was open Arby’s was a favorite place for me to go. The prices were reasonable and I really enjoyed the sandwiches.

Being a former Arby’s employee, I can’t say I was impressed by this place. As for the food, I’ve never had a bad sandwich or stale fries, although I have had messy sandwiches, which doesn’t hurt my feelings. It more of the staff, friendly as I’ve seen them, there is definitely a lack of discipline, like when I come up to order, the girl is using the phone next to the register to talk story with her boyfriend. She was nice enough to tell him to wait after I decided what I wanted to order, but picked up the receiver again as I reached to grab my money to keep hanging on. I also don’t like the fact that there wasn’t anyone speaking English, especially when people are giving you side eyes from the back, the same people making my sandwich. What’s so funny? Would I think it was funny if I could understand Tagalog? Needless to say, I’ve never ever seen a manager there, so I guess whoever the franchise owner is really doesn’t care. In terms of food, I’ve never been let down. The roast beef is always so good that you could order any sandwich and it will taste nice. That is why this place still deserves 3 stars

Arby’s is what it says. Good Mood Food… On my latest adventure I just ordered a large curly fries to go. The cashier let me know they were going to fry some up right now so it would just be about 3 minutes. A minute or two later and they we ready. Fresh and hot. YUM! I’ve been here to get the combo deal 5 for $ 8 and the roast beef never disappoints. The store is clean and pretty modern from their last renovation. The staff is prompt and friendly. What more could you ask for. 31 Unilocal~ 1⁄31

This is a great place at Kahala to get a quick bite to eat before you head off to the adventures of life. Pros: 1. The service is friendly 2. Good location 3. Somewhat healthy Cons: 1. My sandwich was not as hot as I expected. It seemed as though it was sitting out for 10 minutes before serving it to me. Also my curly fries were extremely stale and cold to the touch. What made it all the more puzzling is that the lunch rush was going on, so I would have expected a quick turn over rate with their food. It could have been that everything was made within a reasonable time, but maybe someone forgot to give me my order and sat there unattended. 2. When getting my sauces such as the ketchup and Arby’s sauce the exhaust from the soda machine blows out the hot air right on the condiments. I dont know about you, but my ketchup was clumpy looking. This did not help the situation.

This Arby’s is located in Kahala Mall near Panda Express and Taco Bell, down the Claire’s Accessiries wing of the mall. Yes, this Arby’s has the same menu as the other Arby’s around the island, BUT this one is clean, clean, CLEAN! :) My longtime Arby’s favorites include their delicious Beef ‘n Cheddar, the Classic Roast Beef Sandwich, and the savory French Dip and Swiss. I gotta have the Arby’s Sauce and Horsey Sauce with my sandwich(es) and regular fries of course. The curly fries are fresh and delicious, but I prefer Arby’s Homestyle Fries with my meal. The Beef ‘n Cheddar is comprised of slow roasted roast beef, Arby’s Red Ranch Sauce, and warm cheddar cheese sandwiched between two onion roll buns. When I was a little kid, I would always pick out the onions from the roll. I guess since then my palate has matured bc now I love those onion roll buns. It comes in 3 sizes. :) The Roast Beef Sandwich is made up of a decent amount of Arby’s slow roasted roast beef nestled between their Arby’s BnC signature toasted sesame bun. Like the Beef ‘n Cheddar, the Roast Beef Sandwich comes in three sizes. The French Dip and Swiss is definitely not the best French Dip I’ve ever had, but it certainly rates pretty high on the charts, especially for Fast Food. It’s Arby’s famous roast beef and melted Swiss piled atop of a toasted Italian Sub, served with their savory au jus. My secret weapon is Arby’s Horsey Sauce — I spread some Horsey Sauce on my sub after dipping my sub in the warm au jus. I also dip my fries in the au jus :) I really want to venture outside my comfort zone and try new things, but I can’t seem to stray from those three I mentioned. However, I have tried a variety of sides from Arby’s and I like their Jalapeño Bites with their Bronco Berry Sauce. The mild berry sauce kicks up the flavor of the cheesy jalapeño goodness. :) The deluxe baked potato is also good. All in all, I am a huge fan of Arby’s, especially this Kahala Mall one. If you’re ever in the area(and hungry), this location is definitely worth a try. Unilocal 365 — #190/365

I love Arby’s roast beef sandwiches(especially with a side of au jus) and their curly fries. Yes, it’s more expensive than other fast food, but I think the quality of the beef is better. That being said, both the Pearlridge and Ala Moana locations have this one beat. The restaurant was just messy… bits of food on all the tables and booths, napkins on the floor, and a general feeling of grunge. It wasn’t surprising that there were no patrons inside. The cashier who took my order did not go out of her way to provide friendly service, and one of the cooks in the back just rudely stared at me through the order window the whole time. I will return because the food is crave-worthy, but I will definitely NOT be eating in.

I love, love, love their ‘Shroom and Swiss Burger with that Horseradish sauce! Broke da mouth goodness. And their curly fries are always crunchy and fresh tasting! Yes, the workers are grouchy looking. I guess the bottom line is, grouchy workers or not, I just care about getting a fresh batch of curly fries and a hot ‘Shroom and Swiss Burger with my horsey sauce and I’m good to go. If the food ever goes downhill here, I’ll be super bummed. Till then, keep it coming Arby’s! You’re the reason why I can’t seem to lose the last few pounds of my baby weight even though I’ve been running like a maniac for the marathon! Hahaha!

UPDATE: Not only did I write a review on Unilocal, but the night before, I went to and sent in my complaint. The next day, I received a call from the owner and VP of Arby’s Hawaii, Mike Hicky. He was notified by Arby’s customer service that a complaint was made to his franchise. He was very pleasant and apologized for the poor customer service. Also offered me free turnovers. I’m impressed with how seriously Arby takes customer feedback! Bravo Arby’s, bravo! I shall raise you from one star to two stars. Anyhoo…I still have to keep my original review… When I first got word that an Arby’s was opening in Kahala Mall, I could not be more excited. Something new in the mall! When they first opened, there were a few kinks here and there, but at least they always had everything on their menu available to purchase. The loaded potato bites — super awesome. And really, the best turnovers I’ve had at a fast food restaurant. However, that’s shit is over and done with. In the past three months, I have not been able to purchase a turnover in the evenings. Every single time I try(and I live close to the mall, so I would say I’ve tried every two weeks), they’re sold out. And at first I thought nothing of it. I was walking in around 8pm, so being out of turnovers for the evening made sense — only an hour left until they closed. No biggie. So, last night, when I arrived there at 7:30pm, I thought for sure I’d get to order a turnover. When I approached the counter, I asked their manager if they had any turnovers left. The answer — «No. And it would take us 30 minutes to make it.» I’m thinking, OK, I’ll look around the mall and come back and take it home — so I said, «I’d like to order one.» Her snide remark, «You want me to make just one?» I wanted to drop some F-Bombs right there and then, but instead, I simply excused myself. I walked around the mall for about 20 minutes and when I walked passed Arby’s to go home, the manager and workers were simply just standing around talking. No food items waiting to be cooked, no orders being taken. Kitchen looked spotless as if nothing was ever cooked… all day. I called the next day asking to speak to a general manager. Turns out, last night’s manager is the only manager. I asked her about the situation with the turnovers — and here’s the 411: Per the owner, Mike Hicky, they are only allowed to make 6 turnovers a day, 2 chocolate, 2 cherry, and 2 apple. If they happen to sell out by noon, then maybe, they could make 6 more — MAYBE. They are not allowed to make any more than that. So essentially, when you get there at 8pm and if by some miracle they have a turnover, it’s a very strong possibility that it’s been sitting since the restaurant opened at 10:00am. I also asked if they were in batches of a dozen, she said no. So in reality, she could have made me my one turnover, hell, if she told me I had to order two, I would have. At the end of our conversation, I asked her for the owner’s number to voice my concern, she stated, «We are not allowed to give that information out, or he will be mad.» WARNING: Please do not read the next paragraph if sensitive to profanity. Instead, skip to closing paragraph. All I can say now, is WTF! I can understand this from a business point of view, I guess, but this is just complete bullshit. So for the 11 hours that you’re open, you can’t even sell more than 6 turnovers? If you’re so fucking concerned about not turning a profit, then maybe take the fucking turnovers off your goddamn menu, because obviously you have no intention of EVERSERVINGITWHILEYOU’REOPEN. And secondly, there’s a nicer fucking way to tell someone that you can’t make something that’s supposed to be available on your fucking menu. Why couldn’t you have just said some bullshit that you only can bake them in batches of 6 or some shit like that — then again, I probably would have ordered it because I could have just made that into the 5 items for $ 7.95 and then I would have bought the extra one too. But now, I’m just so fucking pissed off at your shitty ass establishment that I won’t be going back there any time soon. In closing, I won’t be returning to this Arby’s anytime soon. They obviously don’t have everything offered on the menu while they’re open, nor do they ever intend to. And, they also need to work on their customer service. I wonder if the owner, Mike Hicky realizes how poor of an establishment he has. I wonder if Arby’s headquarters realizes how poor of a franchise owner they have. Oh well… hopefully, Arby’s will be out of the mall soon, and a better restaurant can come in… and I’m hoping it’s Wendy’s.
