Brue Bar has the best coffee, and best baristas(that have real coffee knowledge) you will find on the island. The guys working here are incredibly friendly and fast. The location is extremely convenient for HPU students(bottom level of the UB/Finance Factors Building), and for those working downtown on Bishop, Fort Street, and Alakea. The shop is very well kept, seating is comfortable and free WiFi is offered. The atmosphere is welcoming, and comfortable. The shop itself is beautifully designed and modern. It’s my favorite place to do homework and relax. They do have more locations in Kakaako, and another location in downtown on Merchant Street. The shop features the Alpha Dominche Steampunk Coffee Brewer which is awesome to watch them use and the coffee tastes even better. Definitely check out Brue Bar if you’re in the area. This is my one of my favorite coffee shops on the island, and I’ve been to them all.

How could I not love this place. Brue is literally right across the street from my working place so it’s super convenient. The coffee is great, and the baristas/cashiers always welcome you as you’re walking in, and says goodbye as you’re leaving. I have not been disappointed yet, and I look forward to going back. Also, they’re dog friendly(not sure if I’ll ever bring my pups since I’m usually here during normal business hours), so that’s definitely a huge plus!

First time buying coffee from here which is next door to my office rather then Starbucks down the road. But first impression was pretty good. The Bartista had quite a sense of humor. Asked what’s their strongest iced coffee. Got myself a regular iced coffee 16oz black. Asked me if I wanted room for my cream but thought he said what’s my name for the order so I said paul and the order taker wow you do need coffee. Lol it was a good way to start the day. Good really strong coffee and friendly staff. Usually doesn’t get to me but this one wakes me up.

Slowest service I’ve ever had, but best coffee I’ve ever had as well. Came on Thursday at 2:50 and I didn’t get my coffee until 3:10. Keep in mind, there were only two people ahead of me, so 20 minutes to wait is beyond ridiculous. Hire more people please. One person as the cashier & barista is too slow.

Happy National Coffee Day! When I woke up this morning, I had no idea it was National Coffee Day, but I sure am glad I celebrated at Brue Bar! With four locations(Merchant Street, Auahi Street, Ward Warehouse, and now Bishop Street), there are many options for you to get your caffeine fix. I have been able to visit both the Merchant Street and Ward Warehouse locations and found the Bishop Street one to fit into Brue Bar’s clean, cozy, and calm atmosphere. Most Starbucks during the 7 a.m. morning rush are CRAZY, CROWDED, and LOUD. Brue Bar, on the other hand, was quiet with just two other patrons leisurely reading their newspapers while nursing their coffees. No Frappucino machines whirring. No crowd surrounding the creamers and sugar. Just Coffee. And two friendly employees cheerfully making my latte. I ordered an 12 oz. latte to go($ 4.25) and received it within just a few minutes. I was surprised to find that even my to-go latte came with beautiful latte art. I almost resisted putting a lid on my cup, but knew the 3 block walk back to my office would be pretty difficult with a hot cup of coffee to balance. I’m no coffee connoisseur(desperate coffee beggars can’t be choosers), but I thought my latte was delicious and made with great quality coffee! In addition to coffee and other espresso drinks, Brue Bar offers a wide selection of teas as well as sandwiches and salads in their cold refrigerated case. With my new stamp card, I’ll definitely be back soon!

The iced cold pressed coffee to me had a hint of sweetness and low on the acid. Helped me get through the afternoon slump. Glad this location is closer to my office. The place itself has clean, hipster vibe. They do have some eats… yogurt and sammiches, which I have to get the next time I come here for a caffeine fix.

Good coffee, great atmosphere. I recommend the steampunk coffees, it’s fun to watch it be made. The employees are all great, and will remember you and your order if you become a regular. :)

Excellent! Coffee right in the building I work. The employees are great and very attentive especially so early in the morning and the coffee is perfect.

Just being in stumbling distance from the bus stop at 7 am is a beautiful thing, having really great coffee at 7 am is fabulous. The friendly staff is knowledgeable but not snobby(unlike a café around here where the owner won’t let you put milk in the ultra-precious brew). If you don’t see what you want on the drink menu, ask — they can make flat whites, piccolo lattes, etc.

I ordered a large drip and it’s really good but too pricey. I gave the guy this half off promo coupon & it was 1.80 something. So that means regular price is over $ 3.60? For drip? Forget that, I can’t afford it.

Finally! A coffee shop at the bottom floor of the building I work in! Can I get a hallelujah, hallelujah?! The new Brue Bar(and 2nd location in Downtown Honolulu) is located on the Diamond Head side of the ground floor of the Finance Factors Building. They just opened up last week Wednesday, June 17, 2015, so they’re slowing bringing in more variety day-by-day. Believe it or not, I was the first customer to walk through the door last Wednesday(Okay, fine, my friends and family would believe it). I anticipated to experience what a typical first customer on opening day would experience, but that wasn’t the case. At 8 am when the doors opened, Matt & Angela at the register were able to quickly take my order and credit card payment; and my order of an iced coffee was given on the spot. No lag, no wait time, no «oh, I’m so sorry, it’s our first day, so please forgive us, our machines aren’t on, our full selection isn’t available… etc.» …That kind of the stuff. If you come early enough, you can be lucky enough to score one of their delicious baked pastries. I grabbed a slice of the banana and poppy-seed loaf, and it was super moist and delicious. Not dry like the other banana breads I’ve had on island. Overall, awesome customer service by well-seasoned staff! A great place for serious espresso lovers to appreciate.
