Customer service is PERFECT!!! Food is great! The service staff members were fast and made ordering easy. Pressing the button to alert them and they were there within seconds. Our party was about 20 people or so and all our guests received their orders promptly. The food is really good and they are big portions. I will come back just to eat. The bar was pumping out drinks and they were busy. What impressed me was that the manager was helping and for her to jump in the crossfire is definitely someone who cares about their business. It’s $ 1 per song which is great. So no hourly rate! My sister and I are very happy about this place and I will definitely come back. We originally had planned our party at ANOTHER Karaōke bar but the reservation was messed up. Café Gangnam was a lifesaver! Parking in the Samsung Plaza is limited but our guests found parking easily. It’s $ 5 the whole night after 10pm but there is street parking. If I could give 10 stars… I would. Thank you Café Gangnam!

This is one of my favorite places. The Good: * service is always fantastic, helpful, and quick — all the three major points! * karaōke rooms usually get crowded late at night * up to date songs, thank the Lord * $ 1 per song which comes out way cheaper than renting a room, really. * food is surprisingly good, and I say surprisingly because it is first and foremost a bar, then its a karaōke bar, and then its a food establishment — or atleast that was the way I saw it. so deng, the food is yummy! maybe i have it completely backwards * parking in the lot, yes!!! The Bad: * the fact that it gets really crowded later in the night * the bathroom cuz use a little work, the door ISSOCLOSETOTHETOILET, like holyyyyy! The Weird: * … nothing weird yet, except at the fact that I am the only one there to always sing at like 6pm. why does no one do early karaōke? not that I care… more rooms for me!!!

I’ve been here so many times, whether it’s a party or just a chill night with friends & I finally decided to put up this review. My thoughts have been the same from the start — 5 stars! If ever we’re in a singing mood, this is the place we always end up at! Where can you go wrong with good food, good music & good soju?! I don’t even need to mention that their music is only a dollar a song & room rental is free. Yes, free! So no one but your friends can judge you and your singing lol. Songs are pretty good, it could use some updating. But there’s still plenty to choose from. I always have such an amazing time here. I like how attentive the guys here are when we need to order drinks from our room. With a press of a button, they’re at our door within seconds. It can get busy, so we usually call ahead for a room. Besides the popular soju, I look forward to their kimchee or seafood pancakes when I come here. I just don’t look forward to the lack of parking sometimes. This is located across of Walmart @ the Samsung plaza!

Parking: there’s a private parking lot in the Samsung plaza Service: meh, not the best. I know it was a Saturday night, but our server was always in a rush. We wouldn’t even be done ordering and he was already running out the door. He never checked on us to see how we were doing unless we called him. Unlike other places where they actually come in and check on the group once in a while. Food/drinks: we got fried wontons, meat jun and dukbokki w/cheese. The wontons and meat Jun were good, and the dukbokki was average. Tried the melona soju and strawberry melona, we liked the melona more than the strawberry melona. The strawberry melona taste was… confusing. Atmosphere: we had a private room, which was nice. Seats were comfy, and it was clean. They had an electric fan in there which was nice for when it started getting warmer. There was a good amount of English songs, but definitely a lot more Korean songs which is fine, but we just don’t know Korean. Lol

Go elsewhere if you’re looking for karaōke! I suppose the biggest part of my negative review is that the two times I went to Café Gangnam, it was for drinks and karaōke with friends, emphasis being on the karaōke part. The drinks and their prices were fine. The food was okay. However, their song selection sucked. It might be a good selection for most, but like I said, my reason for going was more for the singing. Maybe the missing page from our song book would have saved it for me, but I doubt it. Also, the parking is kinda tight. I lucked out when I went, but screwed my friends over in the process because I took the last open stall. =P That said, the staff is friendly and is the reason I gave two stars instead of one. I might be okay with going here if it was just to have some food/drinks with friends. But even then, it gets pretty loud in there because of the crowd, and it’d be difficult to have conversation.

Been here a handful of times, overall whenever I go there to hang out with my friends it has been a good experience. The service is attentive and if you don’t get the attention you want, press the button on your table. The food has gotten better during the past few years, so that’s a plus. I’ve only tried the karaōke once or twice, not much of karaōke-er but my friends and I had a good time and if you’re having a good time everything sounds awesome. I like how they still play kpop videoes and the pics of Gangnam on the wall keep it real. I do believe they have happy hour from 5−8p for drinks. They also drink specials. Yes, the parking is a bit sucky but if you manage to find parking, just have some soju and kim chee pancake and forget about it.

What can I say about this place. I love to sing and I love to eat Korean food. Each song is a dollar which isn’t too bad. I found a website online for the most up to date karaōke codes( ). When you buy food, you get to stay a max of 3 hours.

I’ve been here a few times already. Sometimes with friends, a few times alone. Every time though, it’s been a relatively good experience. Out of all the bars around Alas though, this one’s still the best. Great selection of drinks. Awesome food at reasonable prices for the amount you get. Best part of this place are the karaōke rooms without a room fee. Each song, $ 1 each so long as you have cash since that’s all it takes. Good selection of songs, mainly Korean and English, but you can find other songs as long as you know how to work the machine. Overall, a good bar with music constantly playing, and good late nights to be had.

The staff is great, and the food is yummy! We decided to come here because of the convenient location, the soju, the food, the friendly staff and the free private rooms(We always get a private room so we don’t have to yell the entire time we are talking to each other.) this is our third time coming here already! So far we tried the apple, melona, strawberry melona, and pineapple soju, my favorite was the strawberry! Everyone else loved the pineapple soju, I didn’t care much for all of the chunks of pineapples, I kept choking on them! Lol The food was delicious, we ordered the mochiko chicken, fries with garlic, soy beans, and shrimp tempura. The fries were $ 9 and we added garlic for $ 1, I loved having so much garlic, it was worth the $ 1! The shrimp was coated with panko and deep fried, I love the sauce that came with it! The mochiko chicken was my favorite, it wasn’t what I expected but it was very tasty. The private rooms are free to reserve and there’s a karaōke machine which charges you $ 1/song. The songs are mostly Korean in the front but towards the back of the book there’s a whole bunch of English songs as well! The staff was very friendly and attentive, and we enjoyed being catered to! It’s a great place for big and small groups!

I frequented Café Gangnam when it first opened in K-town(Keeaumoku — Samsung Plaza) back in my college days. There are several reason I haven’t returned for 2 years or so: 1. Somehow I have less money to drink as a working professional than I did as a college student 2. Parking is TIGHT and has an inconsistent fee 3. Café Duck Butt has a better HH specials(both food & drinks) BUT we live super-close-walking-distance from K-town so we decided to be law abiding citizens and WALK to Café Gangnam to grab a pau hana drink. At 5:30 pm on a pre-Friday(Thursday) night, Café Gangnam is pretty empty. I took a booth, large enough for 4, that was fairly isolated and ordered up a Yogurt Soju($ 15HH) and Garlic Fries($ 9 + Garlic $ 1 = $ 10). Our server was very attentive to our needs and brought us water while we waited. The Yogurt Soju was tasty and even had more of a kick than I remember! The garlic fries were hot, crunchy and delicious! You could literally see the fresh garlic minced all over the fries and it went perfect with the side of ketchup. At first I thought $ 10 was pricey for fries, but I LOVE fries & it proved to be well worth the price!(but that’s because my honey paid, of course!) The music is LOUD. Like, the bar is empty but I have to yell across the table to be heard. It’s all Korean pop hits streaming on the televisions along with its music video, which are interesting to watch at times. I enjoyed our hour long, uninterrupted, conversation. When all was said and done, we walked together — just a little buzzed — back home.

HORRIBLESOUND&EMPLOYEESSTOLEMONEYONCREDITCARD! Beware… We went there for my birthday. THe food was ok but the sound of the Karaōke machine and microphones were awful. Lots of echo, extreme feedback, bad microphones and impossible to fix. Then machine was overcharging us even when songs we not playing. Employees were reluctant to do anything about it but finally only reimbursed us $ 2.00! When I looked at my credit card statement weeks later, they added the $ 2.00 on the total price without my authorisation. That is a pretty sketchy thing to do even for $ 2.00!!! BEWARE. Evening was pretty bad… The good reviews are obviously from employees who work there or the owner etc!!! Your review helps others learn about great local businesses. Please don’t review this business if you received a freebie for writing this review, or if you’re connected in any way to the owner or employees.

(4.5 stars) I can’t sing to save my life. No joke. It’s a wonder that I’d even step foot in a karaōke place, let alone with only one other person. However, my date is totally awesome and we ended up having a BLAST at Café Gangnam. After eating at a restaurant on Kapahulu, we tried going to the karaōke place there but it was totally full. Having read some good things about Café Gangnam, we called and were really happy to find out that a room for 2 would be available in about half an hr from the time we called(on a Friday night! SCORE!!). Café Gangnam is quite small and very dimly lit, but the room we had by the bar was very spacious, comfortable, and nicely decorated. To our surprise, in order to sing songs, you have to first insert your cash into the machine before you can proceed to choose your song(had to call one of the workers to find this out). The TV wasn’t very large and the book of songs was a little sticky, but there were SOOMANY songs to choose from. Unfortunately, most of them weren’t in English. Mostly everything was in Korean(even the controller to choose the songs), but my date could understand so all was well. For the food– we ended up ordering the yogurt soju(not bad) and the dukbokki(excellent!). It was really helpful that the available food items and prices were written on the wall… We could just look at the wall and choose something. Good business strategy too! Overall, we had an excellent, enjoyable experience. Service was great(the worker consistently arrived soon after we pressed the bell thing in the room), food was delicious, and we were very happy that we didn’t have to wait long for a room. If you ever have a hankering to sing some songs, this is a good place to go!

There are only two sets of people I come to Café Gangnam(pronounced KAHNGNAHM); my Korean friends or my family(cousins). Reason being is that this place is THE place to go for your k-pop karaōke(and it feels more righteous when I can sing with my Korean friends) and the other reason is that it’s just a good place to drink(which is what I usually only do with family). Parking is about $ 2 if you come before 10 or 11, I believe because the parking attendant leaves around that time. So the bar is actually pretty quiet before parking is free, but if you were wondering, it’s in the Samsung Plaza. There are a variety of soju«flavors» you can go for($ 20 per bottle paid in cash). I like the apple and strawberry the most. You should also probably buy an extra bottle of chamisul for every 2 flavored sojus you buy to get up to the buzz stage, stop there, and not spend so much money. We went through 6 bottles for 5 people last night. That adds up. I am still debating if we were short one flavored bottle last night. I don’t think we were, but I think I just needed to knock it down a star generally for when it is busy and you want to close your tab(while sitting at a booth) you can’t call them to the booth at that point. You have to walk up to them and close them or order more drinks for that matter. I really do like coming to gangnam though, even though it reminds me nothing of gangnam lol

Some of us Unilocalers came here after an Elite Event. While I live really close to this place, I’ve never been here before. I wasn’t really sure what to expect. I didn’t think that I was going to stay long, but ended up staying three hours. I haven’t had this much fun in a long time. This is located at the Sam Sung Plaza on Keeaumoku, across from Walmart. We walked in and a few tables were occupied. Some of the Yeeps I was with wanted to sing karaōke. Café Gangnam ended up giving us a room for no charge. It was a dollar a song and you just feed the machine. They have a huge food menu. We didn’t get any food because we were already full from the event we just came from. We did order a few carafes of the apple soju at $ 20 a pop. The room was on the smaller size but so pretty. I loved the décor. The menu was listed on a whiteboard on one side of the room. The remote for the karaōke machine was all in Korean. Luckily, I didn’t have to work it. My Unilocaler friends punched in all the songs. I don’t usually drink and I don’t sing karaōke. By the end of the night, these Yeeps had me buzzing and singing karaōke by myself. It was so much fun. They kept giving me half shots, but it all added up, lol. That apple soju is dangerous. It was just like drinking apple juice. I want to thank Auntie Nadine, Diana, and our other friend for taking me out. They all helped me sing because I wasn’t about to in the beginning. After a while, we were all just going nuts. Thanks to our friend for picking up the tab. It was really nice of you.

I really pay attention to everyone’s check ins and I bookmarked many interesting places such as Café Gangnam. This was actually a place that my friend’s son visited! Hahaha! I was lucky to be with a bunch of Unilocalers who weren’t ready to go home after an Elite Event. I really wanted to go to a karaōke place, but the café I originally had in mind has a reputation for difficult parking. They have a valet service, but I don’t feel comfortable with a stranger driving my car. So, we ended up here because I had heard about this place through Unilocal. It turned out to be a wonderful experience! There was free parking in the Sam Sung Plaza on Keeaumoku Street, and no charge for the private room! We fed our money into the karaōke machine for a dollar a song. The Apple Soju was $ 20 a carafe. We eventually learned how to work the remote control that had Korean words on it. No problem! The service was friendly and attentive! The staff frequently checked on us and promptly arrived at our room when we rang the bell at our table! Thanks for a fun time, Angel! Mahalo to our secret sponsor for your generosity! And thank you to Diana for being a super awesome singing partner! We did oldies from Abba, Elton John, the Bee Gees, and Spandeau Ballet. We even sang new songs such as «I Can’t Feel My Face», «Thinking Out Loud», and«Shut Up and Dance»! We’re returning here for sure!

Thanks to my staff for introducing me to this place!!! I love this quaint car/café! This is definitely my secret spot to go after a long day work. The staff was so incredibly friendly and the food was incredible. The melon Soju is a must try. My friends and I love the tripe and pancakes. I wish they were open for lunch! The meat juhn is better than any plate lunch on the island. They have songs by way of karaōke, some of the latest Korean Kpop talents Overall vibe is upbeat. Gotta get there early though because the place can get crowded.

APPLESOJUAPPLESOJU! Love this place! Food is good and you can not come here without drinking flavor soju! Apple is my favorite! Taste like juice! Dangerous lol. My friends and I usually come here to pre game or to celebrate birthdays. We always book a room which allows you to sing karaōke. It’s a $ 1 per song. They are located in Samsung plaza and parking usually filled up quickly or people are just standing around in a stall… Just run them over. 5pts! Just kidding! ~

This little hole in the wall can be hard to find for someone who doesn’t know this area. It is located across of the Keeaumoku Walmart in the Sam sung plaza. For those of you who know the area, it is right next to Sikdorak. Parking is very limited. But once you have conquered that, and you walk through the doors of café gangnam, it is quite quaint. It’s not very big but it is nice. They have bar seating or booth seating and they have karaōke rooms. One thing that I liked about their karaōke rooms is that you don’t have to pay by the hour for the room. You pay the machine $ 1 per song. Sometimes when you go with friends, it could take a little bit before you decide what to sing or sometimes you just wanna talk story and for any other place that you pay by the hour, your time is ticking! This was quite nice because we were able to talk story in between songs and take our time to look for songs and take a break to eat. The controls were in Korean but the staff was more than happy to explain it to us. There’s even a phone in the room to call for help! We started with a few sojus which were good. And then we ordered a feast(considering there was only 3 of us).We tried their Kim Chee pancake, chives pancake, Mochiko chicken, Korean style egg omelette, fried mandoo, shrimp tempura, and garlic fries. I really enjoyed all of the food and drinks.

Wow, the best part it’s right next to sikdorak! Café Gangnam is a nice establishment. Décor of soju and the Sai on the wall made it such a friendly and outgoing environment. We had the room next to the bathrooms. Love the square table with golden covered benches. The menu was written on the wall which made it very convenient. I believe each room had a phone, so if you wanted to order, just pick it up and the waiter(TK or Victor, Victor name in Korean), they are the best by the way, will be running to your door in a second. Service was very fast. Food was really good, but I was hoping for a larger portion for its price. Drink selection was okay. Songs was roughly 2 years old. They didn’t have an updated song list. Controls were in Korean, but Victor taught us well on how to use it. A PLUS! What I like most was feeding the machine, $ 1 A SONG. I think all karaōke bars should be like this. Total spent on the room $ 412 for 12 people. This is for food and drinks for 3 hours. That is pretty good, the money spent was all on food and drinks. Songs we sang spent $ 30 plus we had $ 11 credit from the previous party before us. Food was about $ 12 and up. MOOD: SATISFIED Parking in the plaza hmmm, you must be lucky to get a spot!

Great bar located in Samsung Plaza parking is decent but it can get busy. Great local art done on the walls. Service is great and servers are very attentive to your needs. When a place gets busy of course its harder to cater to a multitude of drunk people. Food is great whoever cooks these korean dishes is amazing great food for drinking at a bar. Place is tidy and rooms are quite spacious. Try and reserve the big room in advance if you have a big party it can def accomodate at least 8 – 10 people or more. Servers are on point, bartenders are goddesses what more can you expect? 1 dollar songs oh mah lantern?! I like the chive jun, omellete, or a tasty jigae to eat with my Soju to just name a few. They have a wide variety of different Soju cocktails to try out for the ladies. And of course regular soju for the macho men. On busy nights there are plenty of cool people just enjoying a good drink and music with friends. Atmosphere is chill and it can get pretty bumpin at nights. Plenty of food areas in walking distance around the bar so its a great location. So what are you waiting for? Head down to Café Gangnam and kick it Gangnam Style.

Café Gangnam has become a go-to place for my friends and I when we want to have a karaōke night. It’s the perfect place to host any kind of celebration: birthdays, going away parties, you name it. You can’t go wrong with a bottle of soju and a couple of mics! I like Café Gangnam because it’s never hard to book a room — even if you’re looking for one last minute. In my experience, it’s pretty hard to get a room at other karaōke places like Café Duck Butt on a whim. You basically get the same experience here minus the crazy crowds. Service is always great. If you’re in a room, they either have a button on the table you can press whenever you need something, or a phone you can pick up that will automatically call your waiter over. They’re fast to bring out drinks and are really flexible in opening multiple tabs or breaking cash when you need it. We usually just pay for our rounds as we go, and it makes the night so much easier. I’ve never had an easier time paying in a karaōke setting. My friends and I usually take turns buying rounds of flavored soju. They’ve got a lot of flavors, but we usually order Melona or Yogurt. Coffee is also a favorite of mine. Pitchers are $ 20 a pop — and dangerous. You can’t really taste the alcohol, so the stuff will sneak up on you by the end of the night. If you want to add an extra kick to your drinks, buy a bottle of soju($ 15) along with your flavored pitcher and just mix the two! Genius, I know. You’ll save money and get a buzz on faster so you can grab that mic with all the confidence in the world. The food here is a little on the pricey side if you’re just looking to snack while you drink. I’ve never really tasted anything that’s super special or worth ordering again. For me, Café Gangnam will always be an after dinner kind of place where drinking is the main objective. Booking a room is free and they’re really nice and comfortable. Turn on the flashing party lights, and get to singing! You have to insert cash into the karaōke machine to get the party started, and each song is $ 1. They don’t have a very wide selection of songs, so if you’re looking for a place that has the latest hits I wouldn’t recommend coming here. However, they do have many karaōke classics so you’re bound to find something. One complaint I have is that the bathrooms can get pretty gross. I’ve been here a couple times where the women’s restrooms were completely out of toilet paper, so you had to remember to bring some napkins every time you had to go. Pretty unprofessional and inconvenient. It hasn’t happened during my recent visits, so hopefully they have this problem under control by now. I’m a fan nonetheless! A solid venue. PARKING: $ 2 cash only. The attendant makes you pay then and there once you turn into the Samsung Plaza, the lot they share with other businesses. If you don’t want to pay you can always look for nearby street parking and walk over. I’d recommend doing that because on busy nights the tiny parking lot can get jammed up, and it’s a little scary to try and maneuver your way through.

Café Gangnam. Don’t really know what to say about you… That could be considered a good or bad thing… I guess… I met a group of friends in a room they had reserved. Let me just say, in these rooms,(at least the one that we were in) had NOAC whatsoever. Just a weird little oscillating fan that rotated and did not keep the place merely as cool as I would have liked it to have been. Talk about major hot flash. Especially when singing out of pitch and alcoholic drinks are involved. The song book was kind of gross. I mean, to be fair, I’ve been to a lot of different karaōke places and their books are somewhat sticky from spilled drinks(I assume). But this one had an interesting smell to it. Ew/gross. I will admit that the Psy artwork they have up is pretty funny as you walk back from the bathrooms. The $ 1 per song(like Duck Butts) is also not too bad. I donttttt think I’m gonna be coming here again anytime soon.

If you like karaōke, kpop, and Korean food, Café Gangnam is an awesome place to host a gathering/party! Very similar to Café Duck Butt except newer and easier to book a room. My friends and I had a fabulous time and I look forward to coming back! Where songs are concerned, you pay $ 1 per song instead of paying for the room. Such a great deal since you can take your time catching up and choosing songs instead of rushing to get your money’s worth for the hour. When we went, English song selection was limited to oldies but goodies. We didn’t have a problem finding songs we enjoyed singing. It was very easy to input songs into the system. There are even disco lights you can turn on for party atmosphere! Part of why I really like Café Gangnam is the food! They have a lot of happy hour items to choose from and an extensive menu altogether. We tried their mandoo, chicken karaage, dubboki, seafood pancake, kimchee pancake, and kalbi. Portions were great for the price and everything was delicious! I highly recommend the mandoo, dubboki and seafood pancake. For drinks, we got their melona soju and apple soju(one of their most popular). Both were good – the apple one is almost just like apple cider. Another thing that made Café Gangnam stand out is the service! Our waiter was very knowledgeable about the food and drinks menus and made great recommendations. He was also extremely attentive/fast. Someone would order a beer and a beer and glass would materialize on the table less than a minute later! Same thing happened when we asked for extra napkins and such. If only this were the hallmark of all dining and karaōke establishments!!! Next time you want to feel like a kpop star, be sure to check out Café Gangnam!

Ever since I started working in the area, Café Gangnam has become one of my regular after work hangouts to get a drink and eat some surprisingly yummy food. Located in Samsung Plaza, Café Gangnam is easily accessible on Keeaumoku. The layout and offerings you’l find here are fairly similar to comparable karaōke bars(*cough* Café Duck Butt *cough*). In the general common area, you’ll find the full service bar with multiple booths situated around the bar. The KPop blasting in the background may or may not be your thing, but it does serve to create a fun, enjoyable atmosphere. And for those in the mood for a little more private experience, Café Gangnam also has rooms available for use, which can be reserved in advance. Unlike other karaōke bars, however, that charge you by the hour, Café Gangnam utilizes a «pay per song» approach with their rooms, and you only pay $ 1.00 per song. The song selection really caters to the KPop aficionados as all the latest songs can be found on their system. The English selection, although not nearly as extensive as their Korean, is still pretty satisfying. Food isn’t necessarily cheap here, and although I honestly can’t say everything is worth the price, a majority of the food is very tasty and I definitely worth trying. If you can catch their happy hour, you also might be able to save a few dollars on your tab. Whenever my friends and I come here, there’s always a few staple dishes we order. First, you gotta get the ddeokbokki. It might not be the best I’ve ever had, but it’s still pretty good and it should be illegal to go to a Korean karaōke bar and not get an order of this staple Korean comfort food. Another favorite is the kimchi pancake. Even though it’s as simple as can be, there’s just something about that fried crispiness that matches so well with drinks. Other dishes that I’ve sampled over my many Café Gangnam adventures include fried chicken gizzards and tripe. Now both might not sound like most appetizing things in the world, especially for those with a more conservative palate. I mean who hears the words«digestive organs» or «stomach» and thinks delicious? Well, I do, and if you just forget for a second what you’re eating, I think there’s a good chance that you will, too. And no visit to a Korean bar is complete without some soju in one fashion or the other. Whether you like soju straight up – if you’re just gonna drink shots out of the bottle, ask for Chamisul over any other brand – or mixed with juices or other mixes(ex. yogurt or melona), prices are reasonable compared to other similar places. Just be careful because soju can really sneak up on you later, especially if you’re drinking mixed soju. On a personal note, it still makes my wallet a little sad thinking about how much of a markup there is on bottles of soju in Hawaii compared to when I’m in Korea, but that’s just the nature of the business I guess.

I was really hoping this could be an alternative to Duck Butt since it’s so crowded there nowadays, and while it didn’t really make the cut, I guess this could be a back-up. Or a back-up’s back up. Or if I really wanted to feel like I’m karaōke-ing with Psy since he seems to be everywhere. GANGNAMSTYLE. Parking in the Samsung lot is junk. It’s also $ 2. Eh. When we got there it looked like we were not going to be seated right away, but we spied a table that looked recently vacated. The waiter told us that it was still being occupied so we just waited around but no one came back to that table. Is it being occupied by the empty water glasses and dirty napkins? Finally they told us we could sit there and we ordered some soju, kimchee pancake, and fried mandoo. In general, I did not care for the pineapple soju because it had chunks of pineapple. Idk I don’t think soju should be chunky, but that’s just my opinion. The melon one and the yogurt were fine, but those are both classic flavors that can’t really be messed up too badly. Each carafe was $ 20 which seems to be the standard. During happy hour it’s $ 15. I WAS impressed by the kimchee pancake though! It was not too oily, and was served fresh and crispy, just how I like it!!! Perhaps I shall be returning for you, pancake! Don’t get the fried mandoo unless you want what I suspect was deep fried Ling Ling panda dumplings. Also, I reeked of cigarette smoke after. :(I’d say come here when you want soju and your alternatives aren’t readily accessible.

Their all-day specials crack me up… it’s as though they want to make you think you’re saving money, but actually you’re not. LoL. Anyways, this is a karaōke bar with a few rooms. It’s $ 1 per song and since they are running a Korean system, they have lots of Korean songs, but the English song selection is slim. The food is ok… Oh, and don’t get the grape soju unless you love pulp… that thing was filled with pulp it was disgusting! Get something without pump… like lemon.

SOJU, FOOD, and KARAOKE! A great place to come and hang out with friends! Booths and karaōke rooms! Basically like a cleaner Café Duck Butt and less crowded! FOOD and DRINKS 1) Whole Fried Chicken — hot and crispy. Dip it in some salt and pepper with some cubed daikon as a side(included). 2) Seafood Pancake. Basic, but still Delicious and filling! 3)** Dukbokki. Special hot sauce with mochi and fishcake, interesting mix, but tantalizing sauce, would have been great with rice! 4) Strawberry Melona Soju $ 13 during happy hour. Yummy mix! ENVIRONMENT Located in the infamous Samsung plaza on Keeaumoku St. across from Walmart. They have karaōke rooms available, like Café Duck Butt($ 1 song machine in room). Booths in the main room, large bar, and Korean music videos playing on televisions in the background. Park in Samsung plaza or street parking. SERVICE Service button! So if you need something just press the button! Love it! They were quick and efficient. CONCLUSION Definitely coming back to try the karaōke rooms, especially for birthday parties with friends!

Similar to Café Duck Butt, the concept of this place is a karaōke bar with private rooms for parties, serving Korean food, soju cocktails, and Hite beer. Rooms are free to reserve and you pay $ 1 per karaōke song. In the rooms, there’s a telephone where you can call your server to order food and drinks. I LOVE Duck Butt(DB), so I was so excited to try this place. Upon a first impression, it definitely seems a bit more upscale and classier than DB. The benches in the rooms were modern and classy looking, and each room came with a disco ball which shot around cool colorful lights while we partied. The parking situation is also slightly better since there’s a small dedicated lot to the patrons of that strip complex housing other favorites like Sik do Rak and Raging Crab. $ 1 for the whole night with validation. Otherwise, you may be lucky to find street parking around Koreamoku. The bathroom situation is also MUCH better than DB’s. There’s 3 stalls for girls(can’t say I know what the men’s is like) vs. only one unit in DB. All the food items we ordered were off the happy hour menu at $ 9 each. Taste was average though, and the dishes seemed overpriced for what you get. Egg foo young omelette — Tofu & kim chee — Toppoki dish — Some kind of Korean«sausage» — Price-wise, DB definitely takes the edge. All the food items here were $ 9 each, whereas DB has food items starting from $ 5 during happy hour. After happy hour, food here is in the $ 12 – 20 range. There were also no drink specials on happy hour. Soju cocktails were $ 20 each(vs. Duck Butt’s $ 12 on HH) and Hite pitchers were $ 12(vs. Duck Butt’s $ 8 on HH). Gangnam doesn’t have the ever-popular watermelon soju like DB has, however, it has more unique flavors in store(blueberry, apple, banana). I saw on a chalkboard near the bar that they have $ 4 Crown shots and $ 6 Goose shots on special, but only at the bar. For me, the price to quantity ratio are what lost Gangnam star points. Blueberry soju — As of now, Café Gangnam hasn’t been too busy yet(I am hearing that not too many people make room reservations; instead more walk-ins), but I’m sure that’s likely to change as more people find out about it. Even so, a nice spot for karaōke, Korean-style, with good food and at a good, central location with many other bars/eateries around when you’ve had just enough karaōke/Soju for the night ;).
