«It is what it is…» That’s a saying my buddy and I heard frequently from the team at XO. Great Banh Mi … drinks are reasonably priced for the island; I’m sure would be more elsewhere at another bar. Some small observations: — They staff the bar with eye candy that dishes out OK service — The managing partners should not work together on the same night — Have your«team meetings» and discussions before or after they open — this took away attention from some of the customer service — Don’t get high off you’re own supply(drink-wise)

My review is specifically for the BANHMI that the cook makes here! I have never been inside XO but the Banh Mi that comes out of this hole in the wall bar is AHH-MAA-ZIING. My Viet bf somehow places phone orders to the cook there. I’m not sure if you can do this through the bar phone number, but it’s worth a try. I feel like I’m on a constant search for THE best Banh Mi’s on the island, and this has got to be the best I’ve had so far. It’s about $ 6 I believe. It’s just funny how of all places to find it would be a hostess bar on Kapiolani. If this guy opened up a restaurant, we would definitely be there in a heartbeat!

Nice place with nice décor they put some work into it. Girls there are attractive but awfully pushy for drinks and if your there just for a drink and maybe a bite to eat they tend to have awful service, but you buy a single drink for a girl I saw tables getting hustled left and right its like chumming the water for sharks in this place. The food was all right nothing really to get excited about at the prices they charge but drink prices were pretty standard. This place is great if you want to meet a pretty girl and talk to her but it will end up costing you and I mean alot, if your just looking to relax and have a drink and as I said bite to eat your better off going somewhere else.

I had the Hamachi platter with AHI later that night I developed the«runs» and so did my party at the bar(3 of us). Spoke to the bartender /Manager they did not seem to care and passed the concern to the fish person named Sean. after speaking with Sean for a while I found out that this is his first time selling /serving sashimi on the restaurant scale. He is a construction worker by trade so he explained give him a break. WTF! Management puts a construction worker that has no knowledge in food safety and gets people sick. GREAT. A few days later the state dept of Health was in there and after they asked the bartender where I was sitting she denied the bar serves any raw fish or seafood dishes. Again WTF what a shady place. DONOTORDER the raw fish. The bar does not acknowledge that it is even for sale or avail. It seems like the bar pulls it out of their trunk when they have it for sale. GOELSEWHEREFORYOURFISHCRAVINGSLIKECLUBEVERGREEN and order from MORI at least you won’t risk getting sick like the fish at XOLOUNGE.

This bar has yet again changed ownership. XO Café and Lounge has changed around some things and flipped the former dart room into a more lounge-type area. Looks good! If you’ve been to Same Same, you may recognize Jenny. She is part of the management team at XO. :) I can’t really say too much about the girls bc I’ve only seen a couple of them. So far, the scenery looks good… if you know what I mean. Har, har. ;) I will be back. I’m interested in trying their coffee and their talked-about ice cream treats. Not sure what kinds of ice cream treats they will be serving, but I’ve heard some exciting things. And even if it’s just ice cream, I’m cool with that too. Who doesn’t love desserts?! ;)
