I took my car to see Clint at Chiks… he checked my ac and it was a leak and I needed to change everything. OMG, I thought oh man I really need my AC, the weather is screwy and getting hotter by the day.
But the cost was very reasonable… Clint and his people work with you and made me feel very comfortable with what I needed to do. Now after my AC has been fixed, it’s so wonderful and cold!
Got my safety check too…2 birds with 1 stone.
I recommend them at least once a day to people I know.
Deffinately would go back!

Needed a safety check and was looking through Unilocal and came across Chik’s. I came in right as they opened at 7:30am and left before 7:45am. Quick and easy. Clint was so helpful today. Will go back again next year.

I love this place. Fast and efficient. I also think that they do not treat me like a girl. I only had my safety check done here. I’ll tell you that visit made me a customer for life. Small, hidden, bare bones. I called at the near end of a business day for they. They encouraged me to come in now rather than wait till the morning. They said it was always busiest in the mornings. Make sense.

Clint was incredibly helpful. They don’t take appointments but he stopped work on another vehicle to complete my safety check this afternoon. The whole thing was very easy and he was efficient yet thorough.
Clint even reminded me to check something that he mentioned during the inspection, to make sure I was looking into that saying «Your safety is what’s most important.»
What a rare thing to find in a mechanic shop, and in a person in general. True care for their customers safety and well-​being. I would trust Chik’s Auto with my vehicle any day.

Great service! Very friendly and professional. Came by for a drop in safety check. Asked the brother Clint if he had time and he did it as soon as possible. Make sure you have your original insurance card because he has to scan in through the tablet. Quick and to the point safety check. Highly recommended! Will be back next year.

I really like these guys good honest people service, took in my car with a non working air conditioner, then I went to work they called me in less than an hour gave me my estimate explained in detail what was wrong and repaired it for so much cheaper than I expected… like 200.00 plus tax. they had it done in about 2 hours. I am very impressed by their good honest work ethic and how polite and nice they were to me :) oh yeah and the A/​C is colder and works so good. I highly recommend them, thanks Chik’s Auto Air &Alignment

Excellent service… check! Reasonable prices… check! Honest and trustworthy… check! Fast service… check! Quality workmanship… TBD after 11.5 months. NOTE that you can bring your automobile that had the A/​C repaired to have some Q & A done after 11.5 months (for me it was the compressor and other miscellaneous parts… so it was a woozy of a bill… plus it was a Sienna Van). Hopefully my re-​visit at Chik’s will be equally as good.
BTW the only thing on the MENU is 1) AUTO A/​C; 2) Safety check.

I came in this morning for a drop in safety check. He was very polite and it was a very simple procedure, the entire thing must’ve taken under 10 minutes, no waiting time. Mind you, I did come on a weekday Wednesday morning.
Where: Their shop is on Beretania St. and Keamoku. Going Ewa bound on Beratania, shop will be on your left, parking is the back.
What: Bring your current insurance and registration for safety check.
Price: $ 20.09 CASH

Five stars. Small establishment with an easy to miss entrance. I can’t take a star off for that! I pulled in, they finished with the prior customer and then quickly and efficiently ran through the proper tests for the state inspection. Handed them my $ 20.09 (cash only for inspections), they applied the sticker, and I was on my way.
Did I mention it was easy to miss the driveway? The entrance is through an opening in the wall, so don’t wait for the end of the building, it’s more in the middle of it. The shop is in the back of the parking lot on the right. Careful pulling in off of Beretania, just in case there is a car pulling out at the same time.

I realized my safety check expired and came across this shop here on Unilocal.They don’t take appointments for safety checks, it’s a first come first serve basis. They weren’t really that busy when I went in on a weekday. They are very quick and efficient in their service. But some thing’s I’d like to mention:
— Make sure you bring your original insurance cards (they need the paper w/​the watermark)
— Stay in the most left lane on Beretania St, they are located in the small driveway in the building after you pass the Keaumoku intersection. Driveway is very tight, and allows one vehicle in at a time
— Bring cash. The business prefers cash, though they do take card.
And I guess that’s it for now. Maybe I’ll see you guys in the future, thanks for the awesome and quick service!

I went to Chik’s Auto Air & Alignment today for the first time after a very frustrating 2 hours spent running all over Honolulu looking for a place to get my safety inspection done. Due to a series of unfortunate events, Chik’s ended up being the FOURTH business I had gone to to get this done today. After the third place was a bust, I turned to my trusty Unilocal app — **which I definitely should have done at the very beginning** — and saw that Chik’s had great reviews and was nearby to where I was at that point. So I crossed my fingers and headed over.
I’m so, soooo glad that I did!
First of all, the driveway is truly difficult to see. Even though I read the previous Unilocal reviews that said that it was easy to miss, I still missed it the first time. Basically, the turn is IMMEDIATELY after the gold car — it’s really tough to see until you are right on top of it, so just slow WAY down and plan on turning like 2 inches after the gold car’s bumper.
Seeing the driveway was hands-​down the hardest part of this visit — everything else was easy as pie! I didn’t catch the guy’s name who helped me, but he’s the guy in a few of the photos posted by other Unilocalers. He was very friendly and courteous, and had me in and out of there in no time! I needed a couple of small lightbulbs changed, but he didn’t charge me any unreasonable prices for that or anything, and he filled up my fluids for free. He also pointed out a couple small things for me to keep an eye on — one that I was aware of (like that my light reminding me to change my oil had come on) and a couple others that I wasn’t. But he didn’t try to pressure me into buying anything I didn’t want or need (for example, I told him my boyfriend does our oil changes at home), which was much appreciated.
I will definitely be going back here for all of my future safety check appointments, and I would highly recommend that others do as well!
Additionally, he told me they specialize in AC repair and some other things, so I will definitely be going to him in the future if I need any of that.

Clint of Chik’s Auto Air & Alignment is a down to earth guy. We had an AC issue on our out-​of-​warranty 2007 Prius and took it to a few places before settling on Chik’s. Clint was the only one who spoke courteously, and patiently to me and my wife, and he explained his services and work. Other places seemed short with us in the way they talked, and basically felt like they were sizing us up for how much money they could milk from us. Clint asked questions first, «Can you describe the problem? Are you noticing an odd smell? Did this happen gradually or all of a sudden?» Things like that. Other places just came straight out with the money talk — «It’s going to cost you x for us to run a diagnostic. The dashboard on the Prius is hard to get out without breaking things, so it’s easily going to cost you y right off the bat,» and on you go. See the difference in the approach?
Based simply on how Clint addressed us – kindly, with aloha and respect, and asking us questions — we chose to do the work with Clint. Now we could have taken it to Servco, but they were booked and wouldn’t be able to take us until several weeks later. I was also convinced Servco would have cost us more anyway. Clint finished the work in two days as he promised, and we were happy to have our AC fixed.
I highly recommend Clint and Chik’s Auto Air & Alignment for your AC issues.

I went there for the first time today to get my safety check done. I called first because I saw on Unilocal that it would be hard to find. The person on the phone was informative and friendly. Told me exactly where to find it on South Beretania street, after the gold car. Please remember to pay for a safety check in cash, for me it was $ 20.98, the person who helped me, I wish I could’ve gotten their names… I feel bad I didn’t, but he was efficient and helpful. It’s been a long time for me to physically do my safety check. For, when I go to Honolulu Ford they do it for me along with whatever else needs to be done.
I loved my experience there! If I have any repairs I might go to them. What an awesome experience. Thank you!

The place is a little easy to miss so keep your eyes out for the driveway. I stopped in for a safety check and was in and out in a jiffy. No wait… DONE!
