Chuggy Bear’s Not-So-Secret Uye At Home Bar & Grill

Oooo-​eeeie! Chuggy Bear, you sure know how to pick ‘em! I had an absolute blast meeting all the amazing Elites and Unilocalers in Honolulu, all while scarfing down a ton of delicious fare.
I was very impresses with both types of tuna sashimi that we tried. They are very large pieces, expertly cut, delicate, fresh, full of flavour and the perfect colour of bright pink. In contrast is the nachos; a glorious glutinous pile of liquid cheese, salsa and sour cream smothering deep fried tater tots, oh and I loved every bite! The pork chops were plentiful and juicy, the wafu steak seared and steaming. The beer a flowing, shots a shooting and many thanks to a our waitress for making me a lovely root beer cocktail with real canned root beer! But for us Home Bar newbies, the highlight of the night (food wise) was definitely the enormous platter of kim chee fried rice. Hubby ate almost the entire platter himself and actually asked me if I could learn how to make it at home. I can see it now, its an addiction for life.
So thanks to all my new Honolulu friends for welcoming a little Canadian CM and her beau into your UYE and making us feel right at home. See you all next January!

Whoop whoop! First UYE of 2013 and we made it. Had to stop by and show Chuggy some support! Fun with yeeps as always.

I always love getting together with awesome fellow Unilocalers for an evening of delicious Happy Hour treats! I’m a HUGE fan of the Tater Tot Nachos (we killed 2 servings!) and got to try so many other amazing menu items.
It was great meeting new people and learning everyone’s names… or trying to at least. ;) Thanks, Grant, for encouraging us to play the name game, it really helped!
We also had the pleasure of meeting Emi’s Canadian counterpart and playing Zombies with Olivia’s adorable energetic +1 Jonah.
A great evening with great company, who could ask for more?! Thanks, Grant!!!

Holy crap, it’s so crowded in here! Have Kim & Kanye decided to throw a baby shower at Home Bar? Nope, it’s just 30+ Unilocalers hanging out for Chuggy Bear’s Not-​So-​Secret UYE!!! Dammmmnnn Chuggy Bear, you got some swagger. Kim should be having your baby! (Insert booty music here)
But seriously, what an awesome way to kick off 2013 with the very first UYE of the year!!! So many wonderful Unilocalers to chat with and I LOVE that folks showed up with kids. Yeah, that’s right, we roll into the bar with our keedz ’cause dats how we do it. Woot! My favorite part was putting little 5-​year old Jonah into the CHOKEY! (Trust me, you had to be there to understand this joke.) To top it off, Jennie (our Unilocal CM from Edmonton) came by with her boyfriend and was completely elated to meet everyone. Double Unilocal lovin’ in the house!!! (Raise the roof here)
Always fantastic eats at Home Bar which immediately deleted all the hard work I had put in this past weekend during our two Unilocal boot camps at 24 Hour Fitness. Pork chops, tater tot nachos, deep fried chicken gizzards and kim chee fried rice, I ate it all and have the belly to prove it! The night was of course made even more fun by a drive by shotting with Roy Y, Les M & Susan F. That’s right «shotting» (not shooting), in which Roy promptly dropped off shots of Grey Goose and ran away into the night.
Dear God: I love my job at Unilocal and these are the times when I can’t believe how very lucky I am to be alive and living in Honolulu. Cheers to what is sure to be an EPIC 2013!!!
