Good selection of seeds. Was referred by my girlfriends grandpa(gpa knows best haha) and now my garden is thriving! Everything from daikon to beans grow well, except for the mitsuba. Tried twice and still didn’t seed. Anyway, check this place out for some quality seeds!

Look no further for your Hawaii-friendly seeds. Most will just buy off the shelf stock at Lowes or Home Depot. What they don’t realize is that most of these are not optimal for Hawaii. They’ll grow well in specific areas of the lower 48 but are so-so in Hawaii. All my seeds come from this tiny shop in Kapalama. The lady is super akamai about gardening, don’t be afraid to ask if you have any questions. I just got my mizuna seeds, just in time for New Years.

This seed store has all one might need for the local gardener… it is in an unpretentious location and is run by a very nice lady… I will go back… They are working on a catalog… good! Asia veggies abound.

Did you need some seeds that come from a local company? Then you need to stop by here. They had a ton of seeds that are made for Hawaii. I heard about this store but didnt know it was so close to me. Its right behind the old Gems was. If thats too long ago for you, its behind the DMV/Chuck E Cheese/Kalihi Pets lot.

I have fond memories of coming here with my mother decades ago. We returned to the islands recently, and I stopped by to rekindle some of that small-store warmth. Despite its very hidden nature(tucked in a small corner office amongst industrial warehouses), it was fairly busy that day. It seemed the customers were all regulars, including the elderly woman stopping by for her usual supply of fertilizer. Beyond that though, it was a bittersweet visit. I did end up buying seeds — the sale took longer than the usual visit to the big box stores — and the seeds were of moderate quality. The Jalapeño never blossomed, the tomato never sprouted, the green onion from seed was a bad idea. I can, however, give it more than kudos for the ung choi(kang kong) not available elsewhere. Those seeds went wild, and are worth their weight in gold.(Totally recommended for anyone, including condo/apartment dwellers. All you have to do is keep the soil moist and the plant grows like grass. Just cut it down at the base for harvest and it grows right back again; no replanting is necessary) I genuinely hope the store continues to thrive beyond the third generation, but realistically it’s a little like rooting for the local dry goods store.

I recently started gardening… and LOVE it! As I searched for soy bean seeds, I found Fukuda Seed Store… what a treasure! Hidden in the back street of Kalihi sits a little store that contains not only a great assortment of high quality seeds, but a woman who can answer any question you have regarding vegetable gardening… not only does she knowledgeable, but she is willing to share that information! Jo-Anne is third generation seed distributor… she has a passion for this business and has lived it all her life. She gave me great information regarding soil, fertilizer and what I need to do. She has everything for organic gardening and lots of practical advice. They also have sun protection clothing and gear as well as shoes… She even has samples of the delicious vegetables you can grow… now you’ll never find that at the big box home and garden stores! For you fishermen, hunters and hikers, they also carry spiked tabis & boots from Japan… how cool is that! Check out their website… lists lots of the seed that they carry… even shows the prices. Stop in and check this place out… you’ll be soooo glad you did! Oh, by the way, call first… it’s a family run business and sometimes they have to adjust their store hours…
