Lani Moo’s is located in a pretty hectic food court, with a sign that looks like it was designed in the 1980s, but offers some local flavours and was a pleasant surprise to find a decent local ice cream spot in an airport. Macadamia Nut: 3.5 stars Subtle, like a nutty vanilla, and the nuts are soft and chewy instead of the roasted macadamias I’m used to, but still pretty delicious. My partner, who isn’t a big ice cream fan, kept nibbling away at it, to my growing dismay, and refused to give it back to me until he had eaten half of it! The texture was delightful — creamy, not the least bit icy(as I had feared, from reading previous reviews), soft but holding its integrity and not melting all over the place. Mint Chip: 4 stars Kona Coffee: 4 stars Waffle cone: just okay, not particularly fresh not crispy. I’m a bit of an ice-cream snob, if you see my other reviews and«Black Book of Ice Cream in the Bay Area» list, but this satisfied me.

Lani Moo’s is located in the Honolulu Airport, and is a good place to grab dessert if you’re in the mood for ice cream. I sampled their macadamia nut flavor, but it tasted more like vanilla to me. The kona coffee flavor had better flavor, but I thought their consistency was too icy versus creamy. I would only recommend going to Lani Moo’s if you’re really desperate for ice cream or a sweet fix, and you’re stuck at the airport!

Wasn’t swept in either direction by the ice cream, but I will give the employee who worked here credit for serving me even though a sign was up saying that they were closed. Thank you! Being that it’s called lani moo’s «tropical treats,» I was hoping they would have more hawaiian-influenced flavors. The only thing they had was macadamia nut, which was good. Maybe the next time I return to oahu they will have expanded. Think the business is relatively new being that I’m the first to review it. Can’t expect too much being that it’s an airport ice-cream stop.
