When it’s come to eating phở, the broth flavor matters most to me. I’m happy to say this place has proved to be one of my favorites. Rare Steak & Beef Ball Phở~ I ordered the phở with my two fav types of meat. It always come with a generous amount of bean sprouts(which I eat a lot of…) and mint leaves. The broth is tasty and came out nice & hot. Cheaper than most places for the portion they give. The regular bowl compares to a large and the large should be called Jumbo! The friendly staff wouldn’t let our glasses go empty on water. It was almost closing so I really appreciated the service they gave.

Who would’ve thought I’d choose go get phở while in Hawaii?! Well, as much as I love my poke I needed something a little different and Phở Bistro 2 hit the spot. This place was just a few minutes from our Airbnb so my friends and I decided to check it out due to the high ratings on Unilocal. We got here around 7:30pm and it was already packed. We were seated almost right away. This place can probably seat around 40 people? We were given menus and water instantly and this place looked pretty clean. I decided to get the spring roll with grilled pork vermicelli which I rarely get since I’m a big soup person but the weather was just too much for hot soup. The vermicelli was delicious! Though I could’ve gone without the grilled pork as it was a bit salty for my liking but overall super refreshing. The spring rolls complemented the bean sprouts and vermicelli very well. Overall, clean phở place with great service and good food. I wanted to note that the table next to us got their pork special which looked amazing but just too big for me to finish. I may try that another day if I’m ever back in Hawaii :)

Phở Bistro 2 is located across the street from Home Bar, on the corner of Kalakaua Ave and Fern Street. There are two stalls right in front of the restaurant, or you can park in the lot in front of the ‘Cigarettes Collection’ store on the right side. And of course if all else fails, there is also street parking along Fern St. What I like about Phở Bistro 2 is how fast they are. Quick to seat you, quick to take your order, and quick to give you the food. I love this because I am always in a rush lol. The Grub. [[ Autumn Roll $ 6.95 ]] The autumn roll comes with freshly rolled tofu, vermicelli, and variety of vegetables in rice paper. It also comes with some peanut sauce for you to dip the rolls. Super yummy! [[ Oxtail Soup $ 16.25 ]] I think I just died and went to soup heaven. This Oxtail soup was so good! They slow-cook the oxtail which makes it so tender and fall right off the bone. The broth was delicious and they loaded it with tons of veggies. You also get a choice of noodles or rice! I was so full, but kept eating it because it was soooo good. Overall this is definitely one of my favorite Vietnamese places to go to! :3

Super tasty phở, bun and fresh rolls. Ingredients are always fresh flavorful. The phở broth is perfectly seasoned with tasty aromatics. Plus the service is great. The woman who is generally working is very sweet and always smiling. This place is most certainly on my list of regular comfort food joints.

I just came back from Vietnam and Phở Bistro 2’s beef and chicken phở compares favorably to the best in Ho Chi Minh city. I went to the«lunch lady» from Anthony Bourdain’s show«No reservations» and honestly, it was great soup but not traditional phở. If you’re looking for traditional phở, Phở Bistro 2 is just as good as the best places I went in District 1 and District 2 of Ho Chi Minh City.

Tasty phở good service but no egg noodle what the hell? I would give the spot a better rating if they provided egg noodle as choice

I have to admit the portion is huge! I got the house special Phở which has ton of delicious beef in it. I love their hot sauce, very good! Oxtail soup comes in a huge bowl super meaty too. Not a huge fan for the winter roll, I think the meat portion is kinda tiny.

Ok coming from a Vietnamese family and having been to Vietnam and having lots of wonderful phở in little Saigon this place was kind of a disappointment. Ordered their small bowl of phở dac biet and the first thing I always do when getting my bowl of phở besides putting tons on veggies in it is taste the broth. If it needs hoisin sauce or siriacha I’ll add it, if it’s perfect on its own I won’t. Verdict on this place? Ehhhh a bit bland. I had to add a bit of seasoning to get it in the ballpark of my liking. Nonetheless it did its job in curing my hangover but definitely the best phở I’ve found on the island so far. Portion size was a bit small and definitely pricer, but then again it’s Hawaii. Service was good and workers wet friendly. I’ll be stopping by when back in town and need a hangover cure.

I really want to give this place a high rating because I love the phở here and the service is great, but I have to hold back a star because I’ve noticed the portions seem to have been shrinking over time. I frequent this spot quite often as it’s near my neighborhood and the taste of the food never disappoints. But over the years, my large phở has turned from a large bowl filled with goodness to a large bowl with small bowl portions and more broth. Same great flavor, but sometimes I find myself leaving without having that«stomach full of phở» contentedness. Parking is to the side behind the chain-link gate, shared lot with the convenience store next door(careful of the HUGE crater/pothole at the entrance). You can also find parking on the street nearby if the lot is full. Bathrooms are through the door in the back and down the hall. Not the cleanest but I wasn’t expecting much. Conclusion: This would be my go-to spot if they would restore the phở portions back to normal.

A hidden gem. We were ship wrecked in Waikiki for a conference and needed a bit of unpretentious food to keep our bellies happy and our minds fresh — Phở Bistro 2 did not disappoint. The place is so friendly and has a broad assortment of food items to select from. In addition, the convenient location makes it super easy to get to by foot from just about anywhere in the Waikiki area.

On a rainy hot day, I was on a mission to head over to Sammies for a fat sandwich. Unfortunately, they had sold out within one hour of opening up. I think, I might have to camp out there one night lol. Anywho, I pulled out my phone to Unilocal and phở bistro2 popped up. Perhaps this Vietnamese restaurant makes banh mi… As I entered, I noticed a few patrons sitting and eating. Parking is first come first serve with a few stalls available. I walked up to the register for the takeout menu. I scanned for the banh mi and then asked. Nope no sandwiches here. Darn just my luck. I figured since I’m already here might as well order some phở. That’s exactly what I did. I ordered a regular size chicken phở. Within 5 minutes, my eyes bulged out as the size of a regular was massive. The bowl was filled with broth, noodles, shredded chicken, onions, scallions, and a side plate of thai basil, bean sprouts, and sliced jalapeño. I wasn’t feeling bean sprouts so it was not used. I did wish for more basil. The broth was titillating and very aromatic. It definitely excited my imagination! There was flavors bursting out everywhere. I squeezed some lemon to mix into the phở, and accompanied it with 7 dollops of hot sauce. Love spice! The restaurant is more of a mom and pop place where everyone works together. I love that camaraderie. The price is extremely reasonable for what you get! Even though, I didn’t have phở on my meal plan it was spontaneously awesome!

We have been here a few times and I have never been disappointed. I always get the #14 beef balls and rare steak and my boyfriend gets the combo. The broth is flavorful and the meat is delicious. We always get our meat inside the bowl. As for the veggies, the sprouts are plentiful and fresh and I love squeezing some Lime in my broth. Mmm so freaking delicious. Don’t forget to add some spice to your broth with some sriracha! We also tried the winter roll which has shredded pork and veggies. The pork had good flavor but it was super dry. I tried to soak it in soy sauce to mask the dryness but it did not work :(we will not be ordering the winter rolls again.

This place is one of the few phở restaurants that are open on Sundays! Plus their all day hours sure help when it is between lunch and dinner and you want to get your Vietnamese food fix. One thing that is bad is that sometimes parking can be a pain. There are a limited number of stalls and they fill up fast. There is someone nearby that keeps an eye out for illegally parked cars and calls the cops right away. Make sure you park in a marked stall or you will get a ticket! The food here is excellent. Everything that I have tried has been really delicious. I have had the Oxtail Phở, bowls of phở made in a variety of different ways, and their BBQ Chicken plate. Service is generally friendly. Sometimes the workers are really nice and sometimes they’re a little grumpy. Phở Bistro 2 has a reasonable number of tables so that you do not have to wait too long.

Delicious phở/Vietnamese food for a great price. My bf, friends and I came here on a Tuesday evening for dinner. The place was pretty packed. We were a group of 4 and had to wait about 5 minutes to get seated without a reservation. We ordered the combo plate(grilled chicken, pork and beef with rice) to share with the table. All of the meats were very tender and had a nice smokiness to them. It was yummy. I ordered the regular sized phở with flank. The broth was good and everything that came with it was fresh. I wouldn’t say it’s the best phở I’ve had, but it was still decent. I also ordered the Thai tea. Definitely one of the better ones I’ve had. The prices were very moderate and portion size was good too. We’d definitely come back here.

What a pleasant surprise. We were craving comfort food off the beaten path of Waikiki and Phở Bistro 2 answered the call. First, I could see parking potentially being a challenge. We didn’t know that there was a small parking lot behind the building and so we ended up parking a bit away and walking — no big deal, as it seemed like a pretty safe neighborhood. Upon entering, we were greeted immediately and given a table that we originally declined(it sat 6 and we only had 4 in our party), but the server kindly insisted and so we sat. Waters were dropped off un-prompted. Orders were taken quickly and the server took all of the orders by memory — impressive. We ordered a chicken, pork, and beef combo plate which came out very quickly, along with our four bowls of phở. The orders came out exactly as ordered. We each devoured our phở and destroyed the combo plate. As far as comparing their broth and noodles and beef to other phở places I’d say Phở Bistro 2 is as good as any place I’ve had phở on the mainland. I’d highly recommend swinging by if you’re craving phở or simply want great food and great service!

I had to try the best phở on the island according to some and was a little disappointed. Maybe because we have prime choice for everything back home but this place was good /not great. My noodles had a bit of a soapy taste to them, the broth was just ‘ok’. Even with the strange taste I had experienced, everything was still good if that makes sense. My wife had the same thing I had and she didn’t have the soapy taste so maybe it was just my bowl or noodles — not sure. I would give this place another try next time we’re here.

Spring rolls are $ 6.95 and you get 2 huge pieces. Phở Dac Biet was $ 9.95 and good but not amazing. Typical phở establishment and the waiter was super nice and attentive. My water was always full. Granted I did walk in at 10:45 am on a Saturday. Park in the street or parking lot next door.

It has been a whole year since I ate phở. I never liked going out to eat phở because I think every phở places taste the same. Then this one day I suddenly crave phở out of nowhere. So I Unilocaled search«phở», and Phở Bistro 2 was at the top. Dang, there was good reviews of this place. Could it be too good to be true?! I just had to risk it. I came here for brunch on a Saturday. There were no line and only 3 tables occupied. We walked in… there were no worker there to seat us nor was there a sign. So we waited for a few minutes until someone saw us and seated us. Ok… that sorta made me a little impatient. After being seated we browsed through the menu. We decided on the regular house combination phở and the vermicelli with grilled pork(total: $ 19~). It came out in 10 minutes or less. I did not expect the vermicelli was that big… it wasn’t a plate like other phở places, it was a huge bowl. OMG! My eyes sparkled. I tasted the phở and it was sooo good. It wasn’t too salty or bland. I love the soup so much I put all my vermicelli into my bf’s phở soup, so I can get more soupy noodle. We were sooo full and happy. I absolutely love this place. It was decent portion and the food was amazingly delicious. I would love to come back. But I’m afraid it wouldn’t taste that good the second time around. But we’ll see.

So I was being a total jerk so Dar and the kids might decide to stay home. I am so Phond of Phở and would really like to include tons of Phonny Phons but I’m gonna rephorain. So here I am kicking it with the crew on Phorn street. Looking so forward to eating. I’ve been dreaming about this. So here I sit looking at the menu. Lots of parking. Lots of seating. Party favors abound and already a showing 45-minutes early. So I’ve reviewed the menu. I’m having papaya salad and the special phở. My mouth is drooling. So funny though. Starting a review in the present tense and ending in the past. See you soon. So I’m done eating and walking it off as I finish tris review. It stated as a 3 for me with the papaya salad. The house special phở raised the bar for me. The broth was ok and somewhat flavorful. It was chock full of stuff. I gotta try again. Don’t know if it was because of Unilocal or that’s really the product. They offered free tapioca dessert but I had to leave. A very successful UYE. Good times had by all!

I’m a regular at Phở Tri but since they’re undergoing renovations, we’ve been in search of a new place to satisfy our weekly phở cravings. I read the Unilocal reviews for this place and thought it would be worth checking out. I ordered a regular steak and tendon(this is what I always order) and noticed a few differences from the dish at Phở Tri. I like the broth and the noodles here better. The noodles seem thinner and more chewy than the Phở Tri noodles. The broth also doesn’t taste like there are heaping piles of MSG(it makes me bloated like craaaazy). The only problem I had with Phở Bistro 2 was the tendon. Maybe some people like super soft gelatinous tendon but it honestly just melted in my mouth and tasted like jello. It wasn’t chewy at all… just mushy, which is a little unappetizing. I also ordered a thai tea($ 3.50), which was good but extremely sweet. My mom isn’t a sweet tooth and she cringed at the overpowering sweetness of it. I’m fairly certain all thai teas are that sweet but my mom said she felt it was more so than usual. One down side is the parking. There’s a small lot and a few stalls out front along with street parking. We came around noon and there was no parking, nada, zip. Had to wait 15 – 20 minutes just for a car to leave… I had a good experience and would come back here for phở. However, if I want tendon, I’m just going to have to wait for phở tri to finish renovating!
