I was given a gift of the 8 Matson menus from Sydney to San Francisco and wanted to do them justice. I went to Pictures Plus in Ward Center and hit the jackpot. Kalani’s patience and gentle nudging steered me in the right direction. When the framing was done and they were hanging the first word friends used to describe them«Stunning»! Even though I have another Pictures Plus near me in Kahala my business will only go to Kalani, John and Mike in Ward Center. Mahalo gentlemen!!! Kate P.

Not impressed with Pictures Plus Ward. Went in wanting to frame personal things and the salesman there seemed to not want to give me the time of day. He made me feel like I was bothering him even though there were no other customers in the store. He did finally give me an outrageous quote of 800.00 which I knew wasn’t going to happen. Found another store that actually wanted my business and quoted me half the cost.

Just learned that custom framing is ridiculously expensive! But thanks to Pictures Plus at Ward I was able to find the perfect frame under my budget :) The person who assisted me was incredibly helpful and patient with my questions about various frames and such.

This place is not cheap at all even when they are having a «sale.» I had three different things to frame none bigger than a 16×20 but odd enough size that they needed to be custom framed. Walked in and was thrilled to find out that if you had 3 or more items you would get 50% off custom framing. Now I didn’t get anything fancy either, just plain black frames. No matting or any museum glass. So I was pretty shocked when the total came out to $ 250 even with the sale. I had to ask to make sure they applied the sale and they had. Besides the price being steep everything else was great. It was timely(exactly one week) and the end result was great. All the frames look great and sturdy I can probably throw them around a little if I wanted to. Hope this place works out for you.

You seen all those movies where some innocent smuck gets framed for something they didn’t do. Then they spend most of the time trying to prove their innocence. Well that’s not the type of framing that gets done over here my friend so don’t worry and head on down if you have a print, poster, or some kind of artwork you want to get framed. These people will guide you on the best way to frame that thing we call art. From acid free backing boards, glass or plexi-glass, UV or non UV protection… you get my point. They have tons of framing combinations that will make anything stand out and make your bare walls in your place look good. They are located in Ward Warehouse, and no I am not related so don’t be telling them you know me to try and get the hook ups or worse yet, try to «frame» me.

Great selection and got expert advice from KALANIKEA. Ask for him, he’s da best. I have had two items framed and he was spot on with the right matting and frame to make these incredible watercolors look like the rich and treasured pieces that they are. I have more pieces to frame and reframe and will continue to go there. to have Kalani help me.

Don’t bring your painting here if you don’t want it lost or stolen. My boyfriend brought a painting to be packaged for shipping. It’s been since May and it is now July and he has been given every excuse in the books. Somehow they believe it’s still in the warehouse. Still waiting for our painting…(sigh) We have no issues with the store at Pearl Harbor though. They do a great job.

What happens when you’re asked to hang a 150 lb, oil on canvas that’s 11 ft by 40 ft? SCREAMFORHELP! After calling over a dozen framers, art experts and contractors and every one of them turning me down– I called Picture’s Plus– Ward. It would seem that this store only handles residential, small time frames but boy was I wrong! Pat S worked with me to figure out the best way to handle, transport and exhibit this huge work of art. He had his team custom build a frame on site to get this painting hung for a special event. In just over 4 days since my first call to Pat, he was able to coordinate framers and contractors to get the job done. I will definitely be back for future framing needs!

I’ve had a painting I got in Bali sitting, unframed, on a table in my living room for the past 6 months. It really needed a frame and setting so I could hang it up and display it proudly in my house. I had a so-so experience with another framing shop on the island, so it was time to find another. That’s where Pictures Plus came in. The store itself had some interesting pieces and furniture in it. It was big and modern, in a renovated warehouse way. There was a service counter that had what seemed like an endless amount of frames to pick from for customers’ paintings. The sales associate who engaged conversation with me was nice, but it didn’t seem like he knew too much about art and framing. I don’t know what is the norm, but when I go to a framing shop like this, I was professional suggestions of what would look good with my art, not just someone asking me, «which frame do you like?» If that is the type of frame purchasing experience I want, I would shop on the Internet and save some money. After struggling through the selection process, I felt comfortable that the product was going to look food on my painting when I come to pick it up. The price I was quoted was very reasonable, I was actually expecting to pay more. The sales associate was friendly throughout the whole experience and assured me that I would receive a phone call and an Email in one week informing me that the painting was ready for pickup. Flash-forward to two weeks later and still no phone call or Email. I called the business to ask about the status of my painting and had an interesting talk with the associate on the other end of the phone. I asked if I could check on the status of an order, and the answer I got after he checked on it was«yea, we have that painting.» I wasn’t sure if that meant it was ready to be picked up, or if they just had that painting sitting around awaiting framing. After a few more probing questions, I learned that it was ready for pickup the next day. Overall, I am happy with the way the painting and frame look, but I was not very impressed with the customer service at this business. I felt like I was on my own a lot of the time and the interactions were only there so Pictures Plus could collect the payment.

My mom and I stopped by here on a Saturday and it wasn’t busy at all. The staff seemed a little busy making phone calls to clients and what not before they could address us, but once they did, the service given was impeccable. The manager, Tasha, assisted us and was so down to earth and personable that it made spending nearly $ 300 on two custom frames easy. But to help us out, she allowed us to redeem the 10% coupon featured in one of their catalogues and even gave us another discount on top of that. What a deal! We spent a while in the store but left with big smiles on our faces knowing that we were going to get two spectacular pieces in the end. I highly recommend this place and Tasha!

I stopped by here today to get a custom frame for something I had picked up and I have to be honest… as soon as I entered the shop I felt little overwhelmed. I have little to no experience with getting things framed and the store itself is huge. There are so many choices and varieties of frames I didn’t even know where to start. Luckily the staff here was very helpful and knowledgeable for my needs. I was looking for a frame to basically hold to pictures within one frame. The unfortunate news I got was that because of the size of the two photos there wasn’t en existing frame that I could buy. The good news of course was that they could custom frame it. One thing about custom framing is that it can be rather pricey, especially if you have larger pictures. The larger the custom frame the more expensive. You also have to choose the material and the frame that you would like to use and that can up too. But the staff is pretty good and working with your budget and still trying to keep the level of quality high. I will pick up my custom frame in a week but for the most part I was thoroughly satisfied with the experience. I just wish custom frames weren’t so expensive!

This place is really expensive… The sales people are pretty ruthless with their pricing because I think they get commission. So they’ll quote you an outrageous price and let you walk if you don’t like it… Just because we live on an island doesn’t mean we’re out of options. With the internet, anything is possible!

Boosting these guys up to 4 stars. Had another print custom framed, and it came out great. We were helped by a male named Kalani who was patient, insightful and creative as he helped us figure out what options looked best for our print. Just picked up the finished product today and we were pleased beyond our expectations. We also shopped around their store for a frame for a standard sized print that we wanted to frame ourselves, and were pleased by the selection of frames they had, all reasonably priced. This has become our go-to place for both custom and standard framing.
