Christmas dinner buffet 2015. Confirmation No. 2543537 Our experience left us extremely disappointed and we have bad memories of Christmas dinner here. PROS — Lots of elbow room. Beautiful environment. Poor service is what made our experience memorable and terrible. Since this is a buffet, we didn’t need full service, but since this was a $ 65 per person buffet, and because wait staff were on duty, we did expect drink service, napkins, removal of dirty plates, and the like. We waited a very long time at our assigned table before anyone showed up. We got our food and still no one came around though we did see at least one server attending to neighboring tables. I was coughing from the dry food and really needed some water. A family member stood up and got the attention of what seemed to be a busboy. He promptly got us water and looked embarrassed at the situation. Someone finally started coming to our table a long time after this man got us our water. I was irate seeing the server for our table fill up the water glasses for a neighboring table from a pitcher in her hand, walk past our table without a glance and carry the pitcher of water back to wherever she kept it. At one point, the server approached our table from the closest corner where a dirty plate was set out for removal. She went past that plate, circled the table to the opposite corner where another dirty plate was waiting, grabbed that plate, then took off without grabbing that dirty plate that was closer to her from the initial approach to your table. I assess her as physically able to carry more than one plate at a time. We basically were ignored and had to make noise to get attention and never got any amount of sufficient attention. One of our family members is a restaurant server and confirmed that the service was extremely poor and not reasonable even considering the amount of customers present and the number of visible staff on duty. Food — Not very good. The carving table was okay, but the roast turkey wasn’t as great as available at comparable places. The gravy was very salty. I am accustomed to fine food where over-salting of food does not happen. Steamed crab legs were not bad, but they did not taste very fresh. Crab bisque had not crab meat at all and not much crab flavor. This crab soup was slightly sweet, which makes me wonder why they sweetened it. The roasted beet, apple, and barley salad had too much barley and didn’t seem too well thought out and I find it hard to believe that someone tasted the food while preparing or after preparing. I would say that one common impression was that no one tasted the food, but just prepared it thinking that it must be good and letting the paying guests be the initial tasters to find out if the food was really ready to be served. The creamed spinach was not nearly as tasty as available at any other restaurant from all levels of dining. I never had creamed spinach that tasted worse than this one. Besides dry food sticking in my craw, another thing that stuck in my craw is to make a reservation, I had to provide my credit card information and they promised to charge me for the full price($ 60 per person) if we did not show up. I understand that demand for restaurants on Christmas in Waikiki is very high. We have a tradition of spending Christmas in Waikiki, so we are familiar with how expensive it can be and the level of service and quality of food. This year was the first time that we experienced other than excellent food and excellent service in Waikiki at many restaurants. Our family looks forward to a better experience elsewhere.

The Sheraton Princess Pikake Terrace was not one of the places we enjoyed while in Oahu. The restaurant was extremely smelly and felt dirty. Our waitress was not on top of us and we never received water refills. We were a party of 3 seated at a table of 10 stuck in a corner with no visibility of the live performers. The dinner options were limited for such a pricey buffet. I would stay away unless your coming solely for the unlimited crab legs… Yuck!

We came here for the breakfast buffet. I’m glad that the hotel gave us free vouchers, otherwise I would spend my $ 25 somehwhere else for breakfast. The only thing unique about this buffet is the miso soup(with the gross fermented soybeans) and rice. Otherwise it’s your regular run of the mill omelet station, sausage, bacon etc. However, I loved the fresh pineapples and papaya’s, I totally ate my $ 25 worth of these two delicious fruits!

We went here the day we flew in as we were meeting up with someone staying at the Sheraton Princess Kaiulani. The buffet is a bit pricey, but the crab legs were very good — cooked perfectly even. I’m not really a prime rib fan so I can’t say much in that department.(I’m not sure if it matters but we went on a Friday — not sure if prime rib is day-specific or not). The dessert bar was really good and the cheesecake had strawberry, blueberry, or pineapple toppings similar to a Sundae bar. Overall, since the boss was paying for it, I enjoyed it all :) P. S. If you get a «Sheraton» rewards card or you’re staying at the hotel, there is a discount on the dinner.

My friend invited me to come here. Overall the food was okay but with the price of $ 42 errr no. Not much selection of food but at least they have king crab and prime rib. My highlight food was Bread Pudding with a scoop of Ice cream best thing for the super humid weather. Would recommend people to dine somewhere else.

I happened to stay with Sheraton, and this buffet is located in the lobby. I went there simply because I was tired after 8 hrs flight. Again, it was proved a wrong decision. PROs: live music show, environment is pretty Hawaiian style, waiters are nice. Now, comes the CONs: food is COMPLETELY not worth it’s price. I saw flies on top of shrimp cocktail and sushi, yet no one seems to bother. Ham is tasteless, even I can do better than this. Food choice is limited to very few, if you are having trouble eating stuff some flies touched before. In a word, this is probably the worst buffet I’ve seen in my life that cost more than 40 dollars. If you tired, you may wanna consider this place. But if you want to have decent and clean food, go find another place to eat.

I only had breakfast and lunch here. Service is so so. The spread for breakfast is decent. The omlette station is a nice touch. I got everything including Kim chee and cheese and it was very tasty. Birds can enter the restaurant and are a little yucky.

The night I went to here was kind of crowded, and after a 5 minute wait in line we were told that Kamaina rates are not applied to Holidays. So we ended up paying I was surprised to see how any local people were here. So we ended up paying the following: $ 42 per Adult $ 21 per Child(5 – 12 yrs old) Ouch. So if you have children, and cheap like me, hope they are under 5. In any event, there was bank playing, and pretty open area although there were a lot of people. The tables are not crammed close together so you can enjoy the arm, leg and projectile room if you little ones that may tend to throw things off the table to ruffle your feathers a bit. Service wise, kind of depends on who you interact with. Small disclaimer here, I am pretty«moke» in all honesty. For those who do not know what a moke is, basically it means I am about as local as they come and I rarely wear shoes outside of work. Last night, surf shorts, slippas(aka flip-flops), the usual. As a result, I tend to get all different types of responses from service industry professionals depending upon who, what, where and when I interact with them. Last night, I received the fluent English«Thank you sir, may I seat you and your family» from the bus boy and concierge service as we arrived. Then the«Wat? Stay ova dea.(with the old school nod the head in a direction to point at it without your fingers like grandparents do) when I asked if sushi is served at the buffet. Am I a little salty about it? Meh. Not to the point of lowering my overall rating. All in all the food was well cook, dishes were a little spotty, and overall environment was okay. I may go back there in the future, on a day when its not a holiday so I can get the Kamaina rate discount. Other than that for the price they charge, I’m in no rush. Sorry ah.

Disappointing value for the money. The food was very ordinary and did not measure up to the 42 dollar price for the dinner buffet. The sushi rolls were the worst we have ever experienced with undercooked(hard) rice and no vinegar in the rice. The food was so salty that my wife and I were both parched for hours afterwards. The highlights were that the prime rib was OK and the smoothy was good, although costly at 8 dollars. And we did not get sick afterwards. Only thirsty and remorseful that we had not chosen to go elsewhere. the setting is pretty nice, though. So go for it if you want to stuff yourself and don’t care about the taste. Otherwise, you can do lots better than Pikake Terrace.

$ 42 for a dinner buffet? Large selection but marginal quality. It’s really sad that they can’t do something a bit more special for the price. I’ll spend my $ somewhere else rather than eating cafeteria food like this.

Great venue for an early morning breakfast or meeting. Service is friendly and quick and you can choose fresh fruit, fresh salad, pastries, juices, an omelet station, and a hot food station, along with coffee and water service. The selection isn’t big, but the food is hot and tasty.

Pikake Terrace Buffet is oddly located in Sheraton Princess Kaiulani’s poolside. Seating is outdoors under many tarp umbrellas — thank goodness it didn’t rain. It also meant flies were available too. Saturday’s «Ohana Backyard BBQ» is $ 42(or $ 35.70 if kama’aina). The buffet line is unusually unique in a way that half of the food is across the lobby walkway, literally crossing paths with hotel guests. Their menu is deceiving since many items were neglected /substituted. The featured BBQ chicken was replaced with sliced, tough, overcooked steak. Never saw any mashed potatoes nor the penne pasta in marinara sauce. Available was semi-burnt baked potatoes. Also MIA was the mini loco moco w/fried egg and gravy. Sadly the Tofu Caprese was one of my favorites, which isn’t saying much. Still, the prime rib was a generous cut(8 oz?) and AYCE snow crab was decent. The chowder was flavorful with generous portions of bacon/ham. Their desserts were bland — poor dobash, haupia, and apple pie. The banana bread pudding was edible. The«self-scoop» ice cream was a huge turn-off! Can’t imagine where the hands scooping before you has been — yucko! Another problem was not having any labels by the food containers — didn’t know what we’re eating. Parking is free w/validation. There’s live Hawaiian music for entertainment. Buffet does come with coffee or hot tea. The staff is friendly and clears the plates and fills your water glass quickly. This could be due to the establishment being barely half-filled on a Saturday night. Bottom line, can’t say we enjoyed the place but we can say we won’t be returning! This is Waikiki, we can do better!

Quite a few hotels in the Waikiki area offer buffet dinners and the Sheraton Princess is no exception. Pikake Terrace is on the ground floor of the hotel and offers a moderate amount of buffet staples, including prime rib and crab legs. The sushi is not the raw fish variety and you can only get things like cucumber rolls or the ones with pickles inside. There is a salad bar with fruits. From that area, I liked the cold tofu salad the best and the sliced tropical fruits. There are also a good amount of Asian entrees — like baked fish or noodles, which all looked mediocre. Towards the end, the dessert offerings ran out and were not replenished, including the most popular haupia cake, which was a disappointment. There is ample, ample seating — much of it outdoors around a stage with a Hawaiian band but our large group sat in a covered patio area. This was not a dinner I paid for so I can’t assess value but based on food alone, it didn’t warrant a return.

I’ve eaten at several buffets in Waikiki, and I’ve got to be honest this is one of worst dinner buffets I’ve ever had. Aside from the broken chair I sat in, the service was terrible throughout the meal. It took ages for anyone to clean up the plates, and to give us our check. The food was terrible, the selection was limited, and there was not a single item served that was even remotely delicious. This is one place I will never go back to. I think the only good thing was the Christmas gingerbread village that was on display. Sadly as beautiful as it was I couldn’t help, but think the village might have tasted better than what was served at the buffet.

Pros — For the money you get enough choices to make it worth it. Local discount 15%. Free entertainment, Large dessert choices. Cons — food quality took a nose dive since last time we came. We would consider coming back but hope chef takes some time to taste what he’s sending out. Specifically potato augratin, macaroni salad and coleslaw yuck… Fish great, desserts great. Also drinks were watered down.

This is one of Wiakiki’s best values for a combination buffet and poolside floor show with live Hawaiian music and dancing. The buffet changes nightly but usually features prime rib, fresh shrimp, crab and a huge salad and desert bar. Code included all for $ 39!

This is another place that is long overdue in writing a review especially because my first visit was back in 2007. From what I remember then to my recent visit this past Saturday, my opinion has not changed. Their food is pretty good as well as the service. One thing that I enjoy about the surroundings is that it is out in the open by the pool area(with covering) and there is live music. Not contemporary but traditional Hawaiian music. For me, this is ideal for anyone that is visiting the islands because it gives the very ambiance that any tourist is looking for and I appreciate any Hawaiian business that knows how to cater this way because it feels«Hawaii». Now, onto the food… the buffet has different stations… prime rib, sushi, salad bar, dessert, other main course bar(chicken, fish, pork, pasta). The price is right especially because my honey kept returning for crab legs. If I enjoyed seafood, I probably would be the same way. The dessert bar had a delicious bread pudding as well as assorted cakes and ice cream. Service was very efficient especially because we were with a big party ranging from 56 to 60 people and the manager made sure that there was 3 – 4 staff tending to our tables to make sure that all was well. I would definitely recommend this to anyone visiting the islands or to kamaaina’s who are looking for a buffet in an open area with live Hawaiian music. Note: Don’t forget to browse through the lobby and look at the historical pictures and items the hotel has on display as well as walk across the side street to King’s Village.

While exploring the streets of Waikiki, we found this buffet which is located inside the Sheraton Princess Kaiulan Hotel. It was about 7 am and our breakfast choices were: A. Be a fatass and eat the breakfast buffet for an expensive price of $ 21.95 B. Be a fatass and cheap by getting take-out for the price of $ 10 C. Be a fatass somewhere else and leave Answer choice B wins of course! Being a fat ass coupled with a cheaper meal is definitely a plus! All I had to do was figure out tetris-style how to organize my food so it prevents itself from overwhelming the box. The breakfast food offering eggs, sausage, bacon, pancakes, waffles, and other pastries was decent and definitely fulfilling, especially for the take out price. Unfortunately, dinner does not offer take out options, so you would be stuck being a fatass at the price of $ 32.50.
