Food — for breakfast, they had an omelet station and a lot of Asian food but not much else. Yogurt, eggs that had been sitting out for too long, dried up French toast, etc. The coffee here was terrible because apparently they make it by the pot and don’t use the right ratio of coffee to water. If you go after 7:30am it will be crowded with a wait so get there early. Meh. There are so many other options on the property that I can’t see any reason to go here.

Not good and not worth it. I don’t know if it’s because I come from a city where buffets are at every corner. This buffet lacks quality and selection. I’m giving two stars because of their fresh fruit selection. It is definitely plentiful and delicious. They of course offer breads and few pastries. What they lack is their hot selection of breakfast items. You’ll find the usual eggs, bacon, sausage and potatoes. The eggs were cold and the bacon was soggy. I had an omelet from their station and that wasn’t even up to par. The ingredients weren’t fresh at all. Service was just ok. I did get a few refills for my coffee but we saw her basically for a hello and here’s your check. Not friendly either. I wouldn’t waste my time or money eating here.

I thought the Breakfast selection was amazing. If you want cheap breakfast go to McDonalds!!! Stop complaining !!! The fruit selection was amazing… Fresh Leeches, every fruit known to man oatmeal with anything you want in it coconut dried pineapple, nuts, honey. Fresh salmon just that is worth 40 dollars. Pancakes, French toast with every topping including coconut syrup yum ! A station for omelets any toppings the oven roasted potatoes were to die for they had blue and white potatoes. I have been eating here everyday and I am a picky eater there is no way the food is bad here and the staff was amazing and friendly enough said !!! Hope they see my review because I am eating there tomorrow too!!!

Way overpriced for what you get. Very limited selection and most of it is not even breakfast food. Hot food was cold and coffee was burnt. Probably worth about 10 $, defiantly not with 30 $ a person.

As most have said, the food was good, not great, but good. My new wife and I stopped in for breakfast and expected it to be a bit pricey. We were caught off guard when the breakfast bar was over $ 30 per person. The food was good, but not that good! The view of the beach was somewhat visible, and the sound of the waves made for a calming breakfast. All in all, it was a nice experience, but there is no way I would pay for that again, nor would I recommend it.

You know what? I’m going to do it. I’m giving them 5 stars. The food was good, the price is comparable to every hotel breakfast buffet on Waikiki and the staff is pleasant. They offered American breakfast of bacon, eggs, cereal, yogurt bar, potatoes, waffles(probably they serve pancakes sometimes) and«honey fried chicken”-my word! Chicken and waffles? Hola! They also have Asian breakfast of rice, miso soup and potstickers. Oh excuse me, dumplings. They have an abundance offering of fruit, some salad vegetables and an omelet station that can also cook you up fried eggs. You pay the same amount at Shor/Hyatt and Dukes/Outrigger. And also, thank you for the netting! A couple years ago, the birds were annoying and unsanitary.

The ripoff was in its totality. Bad food, on par with the quality of those free breakfasts you get at motels. Watery omelets, sour pineapples(a first in Hawaii!). Be prepared to weep when the $ 36 per person bill(including tax and tip) comes.

Here for Father’s Day breakfast. Food very limited and fruits looked and tasted stale. Nothing to write about. Had to wait 15 minutes for salmon to be served because it wasn’t ready. When it was brought out server said they ran out and brought some other fish instead. Service was subpar at best. If you want the convenience while staying at the hilton this isn’t a bad restaurant due to the location next to pool etc. But for $ 30 per person you have to pay up for the convenience.

The price keeps on going up and the food is still bad and overpriced. You would think that they would want their guest to eat there. We might if they offered a large discount for staying at the resort. Go elsewhere for breakfast. This place doesn’t deserve 1 star.

Seriously, one of the WORST meals I’ve ever had! The breakfast buffet is so random, and nothing really tastes good. The bill came out to over $ 100 for 3 people. The only thing was pretty good were the blueberry muffins. Do yourself a favor and walk across the street to the Wailana Café for a good breakfast, good service, for normal prices!

4 star for my waiter services, food breakfast– watery scramble eggs best stick with the omelet from omelet station, bacon, sausage patty, potatoes, pancakes with coconut syrup is good if that suits you, maple is available. Salad, miso soup, dumplings, rice porridge bakery, fruits, cereal, guava juice, passion fruit. That’s about it and prices are expensive 3 adults &3 child came out to about $ 168 over price as other reviewed. I gave it 4 star cuz of our waiter. Thanks julmar

The first morning of our stay(on our honeymoon) at the Hilton Hawaiian Village, my husband and I looked to the staff for a recommendation on where to get breakfast. They directed us to the breakfast buffet at the Rainbow Lanai. We foolishly went without even asking about the price, incorrectly assuming that it would be average priced. We thoroughly enjoyed our meals. There were many options for fruits, breads, cereals, juices, omelets, hot dishes, and even Japanese cuisine items. The scrambled eggs were cooked very well, not overdone and dry as is typical of buffet egg dishes. They had items that are more common for Hawaii, which was nice to try, such as macadamia nut muffins and taro rolls. The waiter brought us coffee and water and was attentive and friendly. We were stunned, however, when we received the bill. The cost of this breakfast, with tip for the waitstaff, totaled over $ 75 for two people. Based on the food and service alone, had this meal cost in the range of $ 40-$ 50 they would receive a rave 5-star review. Instead, I feel that this establishment takes advantage of their guests by charging an inexcusable amount for this meal.

Adult buffet breakfast is $ 27/person. For that I’d expect something pretty awesome from the buffet. To put how I feel about this place in perspective, after eating this mediocre, overpriced breakfast our first full day there(and yes, we both even got freshly made omelets), we’ve been walking across the street and eating at either the coffeehouse or IHOP for the last 5 days, and had much better breakfasts. I’ve eaten at expensive buffets before which are worth every penny — this one doesn’t even come close. Don’t waste your time or your money, it’s a tiny inconvenience to walk the extra 5 minutes to one of the several places across the street.

Service is great!!! People are very nice but its TOO overpriced $ 27 per adult person & $ 15 for kids above 3 years old is Very expensive for what they serve!!! We spent $ 95 for breakfast… it doesn’t come even close to the Belagio Bufet in Las Vegas & they charge just as much!!! They have fruit, bagels, cereal, fresh juices, boxed eggs, potatoes, bacon & portugese sausage, omelet stand and Thats it!!! Don’t waste your money!!! I love my Hilton Waikiki Hotel, but they really have to do something about that buffet!!!

Much better since they changed their location! It’s now near tapa bar and tower. They have a selection of pastries, bread, croissants, and fruit. Delicious fruit juices. You can order fresh waffles as part of the buffet it’s almost like a secret menu item yummy! There are potatoes, eggs, and a few meat things. I love the omelette station which added egg whites as an option. They also have some Asian breakfast options, some Chinese and Japanese I believe including miso soup, rice, and lots of other things I don’t know the name of. Their bread pudding and oatmeal are delish. Service is great, go early to beat the crowds. You can grab a newspaper and enjoy some coffee after breakfast with a view of the pool and some great people watching.

We did the breakfast and dinner buffets here. Some unique options and a lot of fresh local fruits to choose from. The breakfast choices are filling and can hold you over for a whole day(depending on how much you eat). The dinner choices are tasty and a lot of salads, meats, sides, and kids choices! The dessert was from cupcakes and chocolate fondue to French macarons and coconut macaroons. The kids desserts looked awesome too like the«make-your-own» cupcake station, fruits, and jello. The only downfall of this place is the prices. The breakfast costs about $ 28/adult…I think and $ 32/adult for dinner. Other than that, the buffet is filling and unique and the servers were really friendly. All I know is right now I’m missing the taco station… and I was just there a few minutes ago. Hit it up for a good meal that you don’t want to make reservations for.

We had the breakfast buffet here. Everybody’s mentioning how pricey this place is, but for a hotel buffet, the cost is in line with other hotels; believe we paid $ 25 per adult. Our kids(ages 3 and 1) were both free, so we found this a more valuable option due to the sheer variety. They have all the options: make your own omelet, pancakes, pastries, fresh-cut fruit, multiple juice options, yogurt, breads, and my favorite: more local food that included the always-yummy steamed pork buns. They had toys for the kids. I can’t speak to the line because we were there right when it opened, at 5:30 a.m., and we were grateful they opened that early… due to the time change, our little ones were up at 4:30(right on schedule if we were still in CA), so we walked around hotel property checking out koi ponds until opening time.

Went here for breakfast buffet, conveniently they don’t tell you the cost per person. The food choices were OK, but definitely not something I would return for. I think our breakfast per person came out to be $ 28 per person, and we didn’t even eat very much. So no, I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone unless you really want to stuff your face with a small choice of buffet items and have birds poach for food around you the entire time

I came to the Rainbow Lanai to have a breakfast meeting while at a conference. This place is conveniently located at the base floor of the Hilton Waikiki Hotel. It’s normally pretty busy since it is very convenient. I ordered the breakfast bagel with lox. The dish was served with a white bagel, a couple of slices of cured salmon, red onions, lettuce, capers, a pickle and coleslaw. The dish was good and it was well prepared! Grade: B. My tablemate ordered the salmon omlette. It looked amazing! The eggs were cooked to perfection and it was loaded with cured salmon! The best thing about my experience here was the service. Our server(sorry, I didn’t get your name) was extremely quick and attentive. What I liked best about our dining experience here was that my tablemate asked for some coffee to go, and without missing a blink, he got two to-go cups of fresh coffee, brought over some creamer, and wished us a great day. We enjoyed tipping well for such great service! Food Grade: B Service Grade: B+/A– Worth the Money Grade: B+ Overall Impression Grade: B+
