Tapestries by Hauoli

Tapestries by Hauoli is a women’s boutique store located on the ground floor of the Ala Moana shopping center. Its in the location towards the old Foodland. While I shopped in the store with my 80 year old mother for about 30 – 45 minutes, I noticed 10 – 12 customers who were women ages 60−80+. It appears that the store tailors to women customers who are a bit more seasoned in life. Items are very trendy womens clothes that are typically lightweight cotton /​gauze /​linen. They have one rack of men’s aloha shirts that look like is tailored for men in their 60’s — 80’s. Very retro.
The sales associates here (all women 60+) were very helpful and provided some great suggestions for my mom. They were very friendly and weren’t pushy at all. What I liked best about this store is that they remembered many of their customers and their orders from prior months /​years.
Mom saw plenty that she liked and mom selected several great items — one linen capri shorts ($ 70), matching top ($ 77), gauze/​linen pants ($ 100+), Asian inspired linen top ($ 140), Palaka shorts ($ 28), knitted sweater ($ 50), a scarf ($ 16), and several other things. As you can probably figure out, things here ain’t cheap. But if it makes mom happy, it is worth the price.
Note: The store often has sales, but be sure that when they ring you up you get the sale discount. I had to return to the store to ask for the advertized discount after getting to the car and realizing that they didn’t honor the discount. Auwe.

So happy to have found a store that carries FLAX brand clothing! I was a visitor from So California and the staff could not have been nicer, they even remembered me when I came back a few days later. Next time I’m in Honolulu, Tapestries will be one of my first stops!
