Saturday September 19, 2015 approximately 50 to 75 people showed up to pay their respects to Hannah Kaneaiakala. We all know her as Aunty Hannah. Aunty Hannah… the full blooded Hawaiian who was into genealogy and a retired social worker. The Church of Jesus Christ Latter Day Saints is located on Lusitana Street just a few blocks away from the Pali Highway. The entrance to the parking lot is on Ladd Lane. There’s a gate on the right hand side that will lead the patrons to the parking lot. The lot is small. Lucky if 15 or 20 cars can fit in the lot as well as parking on the side of the church. All other vehicles can be parked at another church’s parking lot nearby. Entering into the building there’s the restrooms for handicap, women, and men. There’s also a small area in which individuals prepped the food for today’s celebration of life event. Continuing down the hall… there’s a bigger area where tables and chairs were set up. There was one table that had trays of rice, macaroni salad, beef stew and sandwiches(tuna or ham and cheese). Another table had two different types of cakes and donuts. The last table had a big bowl of fruit punch and a big water jug. People were able to eat and then pay their respects to Aunty Hannah. 10:30am marked the starting time of the funeral. The service lasted a good hour. Hannah Kaneaiakala aka Aunty Hannah… may you rest in peace, have a reunion with past loved ones in heaven, and be the guardian angel to your living ohana. BTW…I spotted Danny Kaleikini in the church. He paid his respects to Aunty Hannah like everyone else.
