A Better Tripp Moving & Storage

Nick and his team were so helpful and easy to work with. Moving is truly stressful but A Better Tripp made it a little easier. Our movers were incredibly hard workers, and were extremely polite and mindful of our things. They were recommended to us by the people who sold us their home, and we will definitely be recommending them to others.

A Better Tripp was recommended to me by a friend. I called them and Melvin Parker assisted me. He came out and surveyed our home, gave us a quote to move in the same zip code with packing, loading, moving, unloading and set up of furniture. They only cover basic insurance (they recommended I check with my own insurance company for loss information and did so). I received phone calls from the office staff and emails as well to keep me in the loop. The crew that came was 4 men. Several packed while the others took apart the heavy furniture. The packing was done very well, they used a lot of paper and wrap to protect our fragile items. They did a great job in all aspects and got it all done in one day. The quote was accurate and pretty much spot on. I would happily use them again and recommend A Better Tripp!

Communication was great, they showed up on time, were professional and took great care with all of my belongings. The only suggestion I would make would be is to have a few extra boxes on hand because the standard amount they bring was not enough for all of my stuff. I will use them in the future!

A better Tripp moved my belongings from Houston to Washington, D.C., 3 men came to pack up our furniture and pick up things we chose to pack up. They were very professional and very careful with our things. Our things arrived without any issues.
My only complain was that the driver took a little longer to let us know on the status of his arrival to DC, but once we spoke he clarified when to expect our things and time.
Overall I would definitely use them again if I plan to move, very professional.

I’ve used A Better Tripp twice now. The first time was four years ago; I got a quote in writing because I had been ripped off by movers so many times before, I decided I wanted to go a different route and pay by weight. The movers packed and unpacked, in addition to moving.
It was wonderful — professional, polite and as quick as it could be without breaking anything. It really cut down on the time I would spend unpacking and saved my back. They didn’t charge me a dime over the quote.
The second time I moved I just had A Better Tripp do the loading and unloading, and was charged by the hour. The guys didn’t play games to get more hours — a reasonable lunch and breaks, and they worked as fast as people moving heavy furniture can. The guys were SUPER polite and easy to work with.
They accidentally charged me $ 125, that I didn’t notice. About 30 minutes later, there was a knock on the door, and the head-​mover told me I was overcharged, corrected it/​had me sign the paper, and was on his way. I was very impressed with his honesty.
I could not be happier with either move. They were my first ever good experiences with great movers. Not one item was broken! I highly recommend either payment style with A Better Tripp. Happy moving!

A Better Tripp is an AWESOME company. I researched for MONTHS and because I had a VERY small long distance move (MA to CA, and only about 5 items), it was hard to find a company that would move my stuff at a reasonable price. The reason I decided to go with a moving company instead of just selling and re-​buying my stuff is because I have a very big, very heavy, VERY expensive Tempurpedic bed due to chronic back pain. It requires special care and ABT did just that!
Allan was my move coordinator and he was very communicative and helpful. The movers on both ends were AMAZING — so fast and kind and good-​hearted. It did take about 3.5 weeks for my things to arrive, but it worked out because I had my things picked up a bit in advance so they arrived only a few days after I did. The driver also made sure that he was able to park the huge truck in front of my apt in Oakland so I wouldn’t have to pay the extra fees that it would have required to get a small «shuttle bus» to get my things to my apt which is on a main’ish street in downtown Oakland. The overall cost was definitely out of my budget (roughly $ 3,300) but it was worth it given the great customer service and the great customer reviews. I’m very happy!

Summary:
Shipped goods from Houston, TX to Pleasanton, CA. Loading and unloading were performed by the shipping driver and assistant.
Cons:
The fellow who packed and drove the truck broke three legs off of a 1200 $ cherry wood and leather bench. Bench beam (attached to legs) was also split in half. On arrival in Pleasanton, the fellow argued that since it could be fixed, it wasn’t broken.
He refused to document the damage on the form and drove off. He was unprofessional and extraordinarily rude– and told the shipping office that I broke the bench (an outright lie). The shipping company gave me $ 54 (per the insurance agreement) to repair it. Tried to find a furniture repair company in the area– all required me to deliver the bench to the facility. So, I’ve an expensive, broken bench.
Pros:
The office staff were very helpful and professional. It’s probable, judging from the other reviews here, that this was a pretty rare accident involving one absolutely awful employee. The company offered to pay for repairs (beyond the $ 54 insurance) within reason– but I couldn’t find anyone to repair it. Overall, I’d bet that this is a great company and that we just both got unlucky with a really unstable employee.

it’s always hard to find a good moving company but a better tripp got the job done for me without any major incidents. they sent a crew of 4 guys and got the move done quickly and professionally. they pack your stuff up very well. i would use them again.

A Better Tripp moved some of my furniture and breakable items from Houston to California for me. They were very professional and did a great job. Everything made it safely. I was in frequent contact with the truck drivers on the morning of the delivery and the day of the pick up. Every time I called their office leading up to the move everyone was very friendly and helpful in addressing my concerns.
There are two items I’d like to note (1) They sent me a quote that needed to be updated (they had assumed I wanted the minimum insurance, which was incorrect, and did not include packing material), and I never actually received a paper copy of the update until the day of the move. They did give me a quote on the phone and it was the same as the paper copy. (2) It was hard to nail down a pick up date with them. They gave me a 2 week window and called the day before to say they would be picking things up. They were prompt and on time, it was just a bit of a rush to get everything coordinated in the end.
All in all, everything went GREAT and I am very happy with A Better Tripp. The reviews posted before me on Unilocal are not great, but if you search around on the internet you will find additional information on them from a lot more people.

I was referred to this company from my sister, who had just used them twice. She had a great experience and they were very careful with our floors and furniture. They were on time and prompt with the process. We will use them again for our next move and highly recommend them.
