Laura started off in the restaurant industry as a teenager, and stayed in hospitality until graduate school. After a few years of corporate marketing, the siren song of parties, food and beverages was just too strong and she went to work for another Houston catering company. It wasn’t long before she left to start A La Carte to make her vision of fresh, creative catering and outstanding service come to life.

A La Carte Catering and Events catered our company 5-​year anniversary party. Laura and her team did a great job. They not only catered, they found a venue for us, booked valet and photo booth, and arranged with florist for flowers providing a turnkey corporate event.

A la Carte catered our wedding on November 9th and I could not be more pleased! The tasting was amazing and we felt like we were immediately amongst friends. We wanted a non traditional entrée with some fun appetizers and wonderful people over at A La Carte had some great suggestions. We ended up going with shrimp and grits with a braised short rib… OUT OF THIS WORLD! We received so many compliments on the food and all the plates we saw were cleared. The presentation was excellent and appealing.
We would recommend this company to anyone!

If you aren’t a professional wedding planner, it might be a rare occasion to have to feed 100 people dinner. It might be more challenging to come up with a menu when you are planning a vegetarian meal. However, Laura at A La Carte made everything amazingly simple. The menu was delicious and I didn’t hear one complaint, even from the hardcore carnivores. The price was reasonable and her staff was great. I would definitely use them again for a large event and would highly recommend them.
