Writing to give a shoutout to delivery team! THEYAREAMAZING! Used them for the first time today and for sure, will do so again and again and again! I ordered groceries to be delivered to my mom who cannot go shopping herself(health issues) and not only that from placing the order to the time of the delivery, there was less than two hours BUT… the listed price was higher than the actual price by 38 cents and yes, they friggin’ credited my credit card back… Absolutely impressed! Amazing concept, business model, and yes, amazing implementation. OH, and BTW — delivery was free! There was an approximate 10% fee for fuel and all but, what a small price to pay for such an amazingly helpful service. Not to think about all the time and gas I will save when, in the future, I get to do a ton of other things and not have to spend two hours going grocery shopping! Also, the driver(Kenneth, in our case) called me from the store(I chose HEB but Whole Foods was also an option for our zip code) to tell me that there are two kinds of chicken salad and to ask which kind I would like AND he called when he got to my mom’s to let me know that she was happy and that… yes, our dog got out but that a neighbor caught him and now, my mom is taking both, the groceries and our dog inside… All is well when it ends well and man, this is one business I will keep using! :) PS — just saw someone else’s review from NY dating back to May of this year… Our experience was diametrically different and I cannot but suggest that each service is probably only as good as its local management and delivery people are… But the Houston team rocks! :)

Do not, not not use Burpy for your food delivery needs. My mother is stuck at home for medical reasons at the moment so she hasn’t been able to get her own groceries. I found Burpy online and thought it would be a great way to have her groceries delivered to her so she can at least relax and do some homecooking. I checked out and requested a 4 — 6pm delivery window which was accepted. Then a couple hours later, Burpy called me and said due to a shortage of delivery people, they would need to change to a 6 — 8pm delivery window. I was unhappy but said OK fine it’s not a big deal, just please get them to my mother by then since she’ll be waiting. Then they called a couple hours later and said they wouldn’t be able to deliver that night because the driver got a flat tire… basically the equivalent of my dog ate my homework. Even tho I was pissed at this point, I said OK please deliver first thing tomorrow morning. This morning comes and Burpy calls AGAIN, telling me that due to a shortage of drivers, they have to change the delivery window AGAIN. Which in other words meant my mother would not be getting her groceries in the foreseeable future. I cancelled the order and will now be trying to figure out another way to get the groceries to her. Burpy is Crappy, do not waste your money on them.
