Discount Tire Store – Houston, TX

I rarely complain, but Discount Tire has rubbed me the wrong way in just a couple of days. Here’s my complaint to corporate in case they delete my statement. I feel like people on my side of town need to know how these people do business and treat their customers: Wow. I have NEVER in my life experienced such horrible customer service. Never! A couple of days ago I went to the 14 300 Bellaire Blvd locaton for a balance and rotation. Later that evening I noticed that I heard flapping noises from my front tires. Unfortunately, Discount Tire isn’t open late, so I waited until the next day (Friday) to go in an address the issue. I came in concerned and told the gentleman at the front register about the issue. He did a quick inspection of my wheels and said I had nothing to worry about. He told me that the sound was coming from my brakes because the technicians use a spray during the balance and rotation and that got in my brakes. I told him that I was concerned because I drive on the Freeway to work back and forth and I have NEVER heard anything like this. He said that if the noise continues to just come back in a couple of days. He kept telling me that I have nothing to be concerned about. Saturday, the noise got obnoxiously louder. By the time I got off from work, Discount Tire was already closed. I noticed that a lug nut from the front and back tire was gone. Meaning that my tires were not tightened correctly. Wow! I have never experienced such horrible customer service. Because of their negligence I could have lost my tires. I am a paying customer who payed money to have my maintenence done accurately to make sure I am safe. They had made up for that by tightening my lug nuts and sent me to the mechanic to get my studs fixed that broke because of their mistake. After my issue was fixed, the mechanic noticed a nail in the front driver tire. Hmmm, Discount Tire must have not noticed it. The mechanic shop is only 3 lights down fom the Discount Tire shop they referred me to, so the chances of me getting that nail after they inspected my tire was low. I’m certain they missed it. Instead I went to the 2300 Hwy 6 S, Houston, TX 77 077 location (West Oaks) to fix the nail issue. I purposely avoided the 14 300 Bellaire Blvd location after they didn’t properly tighten my lug nuts a couple of days ago. I expected to get better customer service at the West Oaks location, but instead I was highly disappointed. After they inspected my tire with the nail, the gentleman said I was good to go. I asked him if the tire was okay, and he said «yes, ma’am. Everything is fine.» He then proceeded to the next customer. This morning on my way to work I notice I have a flat on the same exact tire, wow! Both of your locations have definitely showed that they are lacking customer service and safely skills. Within a couple of days both stores have put my life at risk. How am I supposed to continue to give this corporation business and refer my friends and family? I need to be compensated for this somehow. What can you, as a corporation that believes will go above and beyond, do to satisfy me now? I need to be compensated and I need to hear back as soon as possible. This is not a good way to do business. I’m gonna make sure people know about this, so they won’t make the same mistake coming here and putting their life at risk. I had to call in to work this morning. I never call into work.

This is my favorite discount tire location. I go out of my way to go here :) My whole family goes here!
The staffs are always nice and willing to give you discounts! Its also clean and spacious here.

Came in to get a lug replaced (that they forgot to tighten all the way when they put the new tire on). Several employees standing around talking, no one working. 1 hour later, I just gave up and left. So many bad experiences with these guys lately. Too bad… it used to be a decent place to have tire work done.

I made an appointment at this location, which was not in the system when I arrived, however, they did not miss a beat, told me, «No worries, we will get you taken care of.» With it being a Saturday, I expected a long wait, but I was in and out with 4 new tires within an hour and 15 minutes. Very polite staff, you can tell that they work as a team. I would highly recommend this location!

Stay away from these clowns if you don’t want your expensive aftermarket wheels ruined. Came here and bought tires and waited for a month for them to arrive. They installed the tires on my wheels and did not clean my wheels of corrosion. Week later tires were flat and bent both of my rear wheels!!! They half assin on their services and asked me to pay half for the repairs. I contacted their regional manager in Houston and they had no choice but to repair my wheels. 3 months later I still don’t have my wheels repaired to this date. I came to a brand name store versus a mom and pops tire shop because I know I can trust their work even though I’m paying a lil more than regular and I got f*cked.
STAY AWAY and go take your hard earned money SOMEWHERE else!!! Bye Felecia

I generally have a high tolerance for incompetence, but this place left me fuming. Don’t come here unless you want to be cheated out of your money and have your time wasted for their amusement.

Wanted to force me to put my new tires on the back when I needed them on the front.
I told them I’ll take me business some other place and I did!

I used to come here all the time. Service is fast, tires were priced well and they had me in and out in no time. I bought 2 tires costing about $ 90 a piece. by the time I was out of there. it was closer to $ 275 because of the rotation and tire disposal costs, and the taxes, etc. Get the lifetime tire warranty for a few bucks. if they can’t fix your flat tire, they will replace it for free. I’ve never had to use this but it’s good to have. These guys are efficient. I was in and out in about 40 minutes with 2 new tires and rotation and balancing done!

I never go anywhere else for tire service.

They were very quick to serve me, didn’t pressure me to buy all 4 new tires when I just needed a nail repair (a different Discount Tire did push the sale, though) & repaired the tire for free! I decided to have the tires rotated & balanced and they did so at a very reasonable price. My only qualms was the guy at the counter had the personality of a wet paper sack to customers in the lobby, but was overly friendly to those that called. My other complaint was that, despite there only being one other customer when I arrived & lots of guys standing around in the garage, it took a long time for my car to be completed.

Best tire company in town, and best location of the bunch!
Brian, the manager, was extremely pleasant and provided one of the best customer service experiences I have ever had. The tires were a good deal the service was fast. Truly a delightful experience! I am a lifetime customer at this point!
