My family and I have had numerous pieces framed at Dramatika, We are consistently impressed by Patrick’s knowledge and eye for finding the right frame. Every time I go in I have to walk around the store to see all the quirky cards and other little gifts for sale. I highly recommend Dramatika and supporting this local Heights business.

After reading the reviews we decided to go to Dramatika last Sunday to have two of our paintings framed. We walked into the store which is fairly small so it’s impossible for the store attendant not to see us. We waited for about 5 – 10 mintues in front of the table where the attendant was working with another client without her acknowleding or even greeting us. I finally had to ask her politely if there would be anybody there who could help us which made her look up and say that it’s only her there that day so it may take a while! As a fellow Heights neighbor I wanted to go the a local store but I don’t think this is the way to run a business, there were maybe 5 – 7 people max in the store so not that crowded to justify ignoring a possible customer. This was a disappointing visit and I will not go back there. I hope others have a better experience.

Surprisingly cute and quirky greeting cards and gifts available here. I’ve lived in the Heights for 7 years and only found this shop last month through Unilocal.They have a small but well curated selection of cards for many occasions. This is not your grandmother’s card store — no flowery junk with singing teddy bears inside. Great cards and gifts for those with an offbeat sense of humor.

High value items? Want to show them off? Patrick at Dramatika is your man. Frames are more than putting a rectangle around something and calling it a day. I have a signed piece of artwork that I needed framed. Patrick went through several options with me. Different frames and various mattes. Also whether to use museum glass and what its properties are. He took time for me. I’m impressed with his knowledge, the skill involved, and the selection. Dramatika is a local store that thrives in the Heights area. Your art, your valuables are in the best of hands.

I’ve had a few items framed at Dramatika and have been extremely pleased with their quality and punctuality. In each case they have had my items ready on the exact day they promised, with the results even better than I expected. The prices are higher than you might pay at a place like Michael’s, but the quality is infinitely better and the expert advice of the owner is invaluable. I won’t go anywhere else.

I have been getting items framed by Tom for 30 years and have never been disappointed. Great service and quality workmanship. Whether its a print, shadowbox, photograph, document or canvas they can do it. Also a wonderful selection of humorous birthday cards that you wont find anywhere else.

I just had five prints framed here and they did a beautiful job. They spent time discussing what I needed with me, made sure it all fit in my budget, and the results were just beautiful. They even included the hardware to hang them.
It will cost you more to frame here than picking up a readymade frame at a craft shop, but their prices were very reasonable for custom framing. If I ever need anything framed with real attention to detail, I’m going back here. They have definitely won my business.

This is an adorable little shop that sells cards, journals and frames. My real purpose in coming in was to frame a diploma. Which they did an excellent job on. I plan on having some art pieces framed here as well. Glad to have found such an excellent framing store.

I’ve taken several items to Dramatika for framing in the past year, and they do a wonderful job. They promptly help you with your request, ask what you are looking for and make suggestions if you wish – no hard sell.
Generally jobs are completed in a few weeks (and they tell you so), and they’ll call when it’s ready to be picked up. They even provide the hardware to hang it when you get it home.

It is pricier that buying a frame from Ikea or Michael’s and doing it yourself, but if you want your art or document to last, get your framing done by a pro.
As other posters have noted, they do carry decorative papers and other items, but I’ve only utilized their framing services.

This place is adorable. It has really cute greeting cards, fun mugs, cool paintings, and so much more.
It’s a tiny little store and I didn’t go in it for a really long time. I don’t know why. I guess I don’t like small stores when I’m window shopping because I’m always afraid they will be annoyed that I’m not buying anything.
But the guy working here was really nice. He said hello and told us to let him know if we needed anything and then left me alone, which was really cool.
I know it’s supposed to be a frame store but I didn’t even really look at that stuff. I know this place would be a great place to find something as a gift.

We have been using Dramatika to frame all of our art for years now and they always do a great job. Tom and staff are extremely helpful when picking out the materials and colors and the quality always exceeds our expectations.
In addition to framing, they offer an eclectic selection — cards, framed posters, etc.

This is a really cute little space. It’s primarily a framing shop, but also carries a range of funny and irreverent cards, as well as magnets, prints, books, coasters and stationery. Things that caught my eye on my visit in: their selection of beautiful journals (I’m a sucker for gorgeous books, whether printed or blank), a selection of reproduction vintage Houston maps (I’m so coming back for one of these for my apartment), and some elegant wrapping papers that could double as material in a collage or other fine art projects.
Definitely not an everyday stop due to its limited range, but I’ll definitely be back in to pick up a few sheets of that lovely paper whenever a cardmaking occasion comes up.

Dramatika is a great place to find cards. I’m always on the look out for Mik Wright cards, and they have a nice selection. (You know, the ones with the photograph on the front, then some witty quip like, «listen here you flat chested, broad assed, penciled-​in eye browed, tupperware snatchin’ wench! give me back my deviled egg carrier!» on the inside.) They also have great wrapping paper by the sheet. There were some great Warhol sheets (bananas, Jackie O) the last time I stopped by.
They also have really neat picture frames. Definitely a place to stop if you need a last minute gift.
I almost always have to window shop due to their hours. Tuesday through Saturday 10am-​6pm.

This place has nice little gifts. Printed and framed items as well as greeting cards, magnets, and wrapping paper with cute prints. Dramatika is one of the many shops that are fun to stop in as you work your way down 19th Street. Which, I may have already mentioned, you absolutely must do if you’re in Houston and you like to shop!
They are closed on Sundays and Mondays. Somehow I always forget this.
