Hal Martin’s Watch & Jewelry

I went into this shop expecting to be helped but not in the extraordinary manner that I was. I had 3 watches that needed new batteries and a watch that needed strap adjustment. They courteously welcomed us into the busy shop, asked us what we needed and within ten minutes had the watches back to me. They ensured the watch strap fit right and thanked me for coming by. Most of all, they didn’t even charge me for their services! It was a big surprise and I’m super grateful! Thank you for a wonderful experience!

I needed two watch batteries replaced and a strap shortened. Service was prompt on a Saturday and I spent the time looking at the gorgeous display of pre-​owned Rolexes and jewelry. The people working there seemed very knowledgeable. I will definitely be coming back next time I need a watch repaired and to consider a luxury watch purchase.

Great place. The service is amazing. We visited multiple times and each time there was no pressure to buy. Barbara was so helpful and walked us through the differences of Rolex watches. Perused the Hal Martin’s site among others on Thanksgiving day looking for a gift for myself. After consideration of many models in my price range from many sellers I decided to look at a Rolex no date Oyster. Arrived minutes after opening and the promptly located the watch and were very helpful. The selection was wide and the model I liked exactly as pictured. Tarang assisted me and was polite, helpful and courteous. I am very happy with my purchase and the two year warranty offered on the Rolex I bought to add to my collection.
Update: Went back in for another watch and tried several on and discussed options — made an offer and walked out with a Milgauss. This time I was assisted by Kalynn who was very helpful and took her time with me. I stopped in previously to look and Barb helped me and was great as well.
Another update: another great experience at Hal Martin’s. Stopping by and looking through the selection and I really liked a Rolex submariner with no date, after talking to Tarang and company I decided it was the match for me. They held the watch while I arranged the funding and with another purchase made I’m completely happy with the service I received. I don’t understand anyone who would give this place a negative review all of the people who work there are terrific.

Amazing service! I went here to have my datejust crystal fixed after getting a blemish within the cyclops. I previously went to a couple other «fine jewelry» place and was told that I would have to send the watch to Rolex to have the crystal replaced. It was the last time I ever go to those stores again. As soon as I walked into Hal’s I was taken care of, they did everything they could to remove the blemish but ended up having to just change crystal, which they did in no more than 5 minutes. The watch was perfect, payed ¼ of what Rolex would charge, and I was completely satisfied. What amazed me though is that they thoroughly tried to fix it for free, and even after that failed they still proceeded to tell me that although they could fix it, it was a really small scratch and no one could see it. I went ahead and changed it because it got to a point where it was the first thing I saw when I looked at my watch. I will definitely never take my watch anywhere else for any type of repair and whenever I decide to pull the trigger on that new submariner that I tried on during my five minute wait, I will definitely be purchasing it for Hal’s.

This is THE place to buy a pre-​owned Rolex or other fine watch in Houston. All of these 5 star reviews are definitely on the money. My family has been coming here for years and I have referred many people here to buy, service or adjust their watch bands. I myself have sold a Two Tone Ceramic Sub here at a very fair price and have referred many friends here to buy or get service done. They have all been pleased.
My mother has purchased a a new Datejust here. She wanted aftermarket diamonds on the dial and bezel and Hals made it happen. Turn around time was fast. It was done the next business day. We kept the original dial and bezel. Some shady stores would have kept the originals (believe me I know). Hals was very honest in this respect.
The best part is the manager Tarang is actually a HUGE watch guy. I definitely cannot say the same for many places in town who merely sell watches without actually having knowledge. Every time I come he’s excited to show me a new watch he has acquired for himself instead of asking «What are you looking for today»

They have a more mature and knowledgeable staff, which fits into the clients that generally patronize them. I was not looking for speed or charm, but knowledge in the products was more important and no fancy sales pitches. So two thumbs up as they would say for a movie…

Great place to buy a preowned Rolex! Came here to buy my boyfriend a Rolex and got a great deal from Hal’s. The people are very professional and treated me well, and I left feeling like I got a great deal — A win-​win situation for me.
The watch came out to be too small for my boyfriend to fit, so I bought it back to Hal’s, any added extra link for me for free. Talk about great customer service!
I will definitely come back here again to buy my other watches.

These folks get full marks for service. My fiancé and I stopped in on Saturday afternoon hunting for a watch with very specific criteria for our wedding.
Barbara was the most helpful person I dealt with all day. She admitted that what I was looking for isn’t something they normally stock. Then she proceeded to give me her card, and asked that I email her my list of requirements so that she could keep an eye out.
I was informed that they routinely get a lot of watches that they don’t buy, since they don’t sell well. However, if they have a borrower lined up, or someone that may be interested, they’re willing to keep an eye out, should something walk through the door.
I sincerely hope we can do business together, and I’m sure I’ll be using them for my future needs, because that service was exemplary.

Sold my Rolex here and it was quick an painless process. It was easy to agree on a fair price. They even threw in a bottle of hot sauce. They have their own brand of hot sauce and it’s pretty good stuff.
Also had them Rhodium plate my wife’s ring at it was only $ 35 and looked as good as new when they were done with it.
Friendly, professional and very easy to deal with.

Hal’s is a very classy place with amazing staff that you wouldn’t think existed in this day and age. You won’t find better and more straightforward watch service anywhere in town. They had my watches ready in a jiffy and even gave me a fancy pouch AND a bottle of their hot sauce! Yes, I said hot sauce, from their neighbor’s recipe. What a great place.
Tarun (sp?) is the man. Well, Everyone is so friendly. Go here for anything watch related. They also have a great selection of nice and obscure watches for sale along with some other knick knacks and jewelry.
They also gave me a patient tutorial on my Rado ceramic digital and analog watch without rolling their eyes and I realized it was like explaining computers to my dad. Now I know what it feels like on the other side of tech support. :)
And their bathroom has a lot of hilarious jokes posted to a bulletin board on the wall.

I have found my new Jeweler in Houston! Completely professional and fair, excellent selection and very knowledgeable on all sorts of Swiss watches. I will be traded in my one year-​old Rolex for something different and I had wonderful experience.

I have been coming here numerous of times. Experience a great services every time and they go out of their way to get your watch fit perfect for you. Highly recommended.

I went to Hal’s for the first time yesterday. I was buying a Rolex from an individual and I wanted them to verify its authenticity. I got there a little early and was amazed by the selection of fine watches they carry. They have about 7 or so Patek’s. They had some of the great watches collectors look for, like the Royal Oak, and one Jaeger-​Lecoultre. Of course, they had tons of Rolex’s.
As for the service, they were willing to verify the Rolex I was buying for free without opening it, but I wanted them to open it, just because fakes are getting good these days. They opened it and showed me the authentic engine for only $ 50.
Now that I know Hal Martin’s is there, I will be back. They are also supposed to be skilled at servicing watches. That is where my Submariner will be going next time.

These guys have one if the largest selection of used luxury watches in Houston. About half of them are Rolex watches. From a price standpoint, most of the watches seem to be close to half off retail.
You can usually find Hal Martin himself still working in the store with the rest of his staff, along with their dogs that they bring to work with them.
Very laid back atmosphere for a store that deals with luxury items.
They don’t have much jewelry though. They do more custom designed jewelry for people.
I’ve been coming here for a few years now, and have always been happy with the service.

Shopping for a 10 year anniversary upgrade for my wife and Tarang and the Hal Martin’s staff did an outstanding job getting me set up. They definitely exceeded my expectations.

I have a 10 year old ladies TAG I’ve brought in twice now. Not the most expensive watch in the world, but the for the service I get at Hal’s you’d think it was diamond-​encrusted. They fixed it quickly and for a good price when I left the mechanism unsealed and it got wet inside. Today, I brought it in for a band problem and they fixed it for free on the spot. Several people made sure I was being waited on while I was in there. I don’t know about the watch selection for purchasing, but for servicing a watch you already own, these are the right people to go to!

AWESOME experience at Hal Martin’s. I was referred to Hal’s by a friend of mine who had purchased an engagement ring there. This place is truly professional. The staff was exrtremely helpful and friendly and overall the place has a real down to earth feel to it.
I worked with Tarang Patel and after looking at some stones and showing him a couple of pictures of what I wanted in a band he contacted his designer and had a one of a kind custom ring designed for me. Not only was I extremely happy with the end result but I had some time constraints as well. Need less to say, the ring was delivered as promised on the date I needed it to be complete.
If you are in the market for the perfect diamond engagement ring, you would be a fool not to stop by Hal’s! (I highly recommend working with Tarang, he was a pleasure to work with.)

Being the watch obsessed family that we are, we were excited to read the remarks by Joey S. We tried visiting the store a few months ago, but they were in the process of moving to another building, so it didn’t work out. A few months later, the hubby contacted him about a watch that he supposedly had – in the response we were told that he could «get it». Well, as wonderful as that sounds, it reeked of pawn shop. Not that there’s anything wrong with pawn shops. But when dealing with high end pieces, you don’t want to question the authenticity of what you buy. Hence, we never bothered stopping in all these months.
Then, Joey S. writes this glowing review and I’m dead set on checking it out. The new building is nice and the sign is pretty noticeable. As soon as we park, we notice the bars on the window – pawn shop alert! Sure, this is on Westheimer, but isn’t Nazar’s as well?
We buzzed to be let in and were shocked at how small the actual sales floor was. It was jammed packed full of things (random knickknacks on the shelves). Most of the store was dedicated to watches, though there was a tiny selection of jewelery. Out of their watch collection, the majority were Rolexes. Out of those Rolexes, most of them were mid 90s Submariners – nothing special.
He did have three Pateks when I went in and I was pretty shocked at that. I tried on a gorgeous Frank Mueller, but it was a little inflated for what we were looking at. All in all, I was sat to see that it hadn’t developed more into a real store. Though I don’t doubt their capabilities to acquire hard to find pieces, just based on some of the prices I saw in there, there wasn’t enough of a discount to warrant buying from him. Sure, we’re supposed to haggle at pawn shops, but since I’m no good at that, I’d end up over paying for a used Rolex when I could just as easily get one from Torneau or Ben Bridge with more of a guarantee of its authenticity.
