Good quality subs, fresh ingredients, meats sliced to order. Bread texture and flavor above average for chain sandwich shop. One of the only sandwich chains where your can get a hot Philly cheesesteak(with beef OR chicken), which is better than average. Not actual Philadelphia-quality, but not too bad. A good cheesesteak option for Houston. I’m also a huge fan of their signature hot pepper relish, and add to most sandwiches for an extra kick.

Great hot subs… just watch the calories. Quick and delicious. This LS location is right next to the Park Shops entrance in the tunnel. I took a quick look at the menu and decided to go with a chicken sub. If you order any chicken sub at Subway, you normally get a light, healthy lunch. This is not the case at Lenny’s. The Buffalo Chicken Philly Cheesesteak was delicious. It is a bit sloppy, but has just the right amount of spiciness. Grab a fork to help. I downed a regular cheesesteak on multigrain and a bag of chips. When I checked the nutrition later on the Lenny’s website, I found that I had consumed over 1000 calories! This is a much heavier lunch than what I was expecting. There was a line for ordering, but it moved quickly. I was given a number, and the order was ready in about 3 minutes. Unlike many restaurants in the tunnel, this Lenny’s has its own tables. I do want to return and try something else next time.

I love love love Lenny’s! This place is Subway on steroids(only with fresh ingredients). Their small/regular sandwich is 8 inches(I think) and contains ½ lb of meat. It’s massive. The bread is fabulous and they keep all their fresh goods in a cooler, much like the one you would see at your local grocery store. All the meats and cheeses are freshly sliced right before your eyes when you order your sandwich. I usually get the chicken salad or the deluxe sub(turkey and roast beef). After you get your meats and cheeses you’ll proceed down the line to pick your veggies and other toppings while you watch your sandwich get prepared. They offer all the standard stuff — lettuce, tomato, pickles, etc. They also have their crazy good signature hot pepper relish spread. Sub lovers, if you are a fan of Jimmy John’s, you will probably enjoy this place. They seem very similar in taste and quality, only I prefer the bread at Lenny’s over the somewhat difficult to bite into bread at JJ’s. If Subway or Quizno’s is your favorite sub shop, don’t bother.

An average sub — nothing to write home about, but I’d eat it again, just because it’s so convenient. Bread, tuna salad, cheese, lettuce and tomatoes — it’s not rocket science.

This place is my favorite sandwich shop by far!!! So imagine my excitement when I discovered one at the base of First City Tower! I have literally tried everything on the menu and it is all scrumptious. And don’t even get me started on the pepper relish! Can we say delicious?! Another plus is the fact that their employees are always personable and friendly. It’s one of those places where, even though it’s a chain, they remember who you are. Prices are very reasonable, especially for the quality of sandwich you get. Oh and they have a rewards card so you can get free food, always a good thing. It is just a great place all around and I can’t even describe how stoked I am to find one so close to my work!

Maybe I chose the wrong thing, because everyone else’s review makes the subs sound so good. I had the chicken philly(I guess that’s wrong to begin with) and the chicken was just weird tasting. It was very strip-like and dry, which would have been good for beef in the philly cheesesteak, but not so good as chicken. But it’s true that the bread and cheese were good. I can imagine that the philly cheesesteak would have good, but I’m not a big red meat fan. The service was fantastic though. Super friendly people and they keep the line moving despite the long lines. But, at the end of the day, I still like Brown Bag’s dessert bread.

YAY! Lenny’s Sub Shop rules! I always get the #2 italian on white with everything. As others have stated, the bread is fresh, the meat is sliced right there, so thats good too! Add on the usual stuff(lettuce, tomato, etc) and add the spicy red pepper spread and all those flavors just combine into an orgasmic sub sandwich experience! This location is in the tunnels — easy to find, easy to order and they can whip out a sub in under 2 minutes. Lenny’s, you have a customer for life.

Lenny’s Subs are Fantastic. There is a shop on 1960 in Humble not far from the Walmart and Deerbook that is not listed on Unilocal yet. Great Sandwiches. Everything is sliced right in front of you just like an old world deli. Really good!

Without a doubt, Lenny’s is the BEST sandwich place downtown. It occupies a place in my heart(and stomach) close to Jimmy Johns and truly has some great sandwiches. I’ve never been a big fan of Brown Bag Deli so it didn’t even hit my radar screen after I discovered this place. Blah blah blah people love the ambiance and«cute» way of ordering at Brown Bag. Let’s be honest, a sandwich is about 3 things and 3 things only. Bread, Meat/Cheese, Veggies/Sauce. Bread: French white or wheat bread at Lenny’s is great. Soft but not mushy. Tastes like bread and not some sort of muffin that fell of the back of a dessert shop truck(ahem…Brown Bag… cough cough). I’ll have a cookie if I want to satisfy my sweet tooth. Meat/Cheese: The slice the meat individually for EACH sandwich. In this way they are slightly better than Jimmy John’s(they slice batches of meat on site) and WAY better than Brown Bag which uses presliced meats the last I checked. If I want meat from the head of a Boar, I’ll go to Kroger, thank you very much. Turkey, prosciutto, pepperoni, roast beef, it’s all GOOD. The meatball subs and Philly cheese steaks are supposed to be good as well. Veggies/Sauce: Pretty standard in this department. The hot relish is a delight if you like a bit of spice on your sandwich. I really like Barnaby’s(who own Brown Bag Deli) but it really seems like they phoned it it with the sandwich place. The combination of bread, meat/cheese and veggies/sauce makes Lenny’s the king of the sandwich shops. No, you don’t get to order your sandwich by marking up a brown paper bag(an actual person takes your order) but what you will get is a legit sandwich on legit non-dessert bread. I’m done.
