I really enjoyed my lunch here today! Their foods were really tasty and services were fast. Place was clean and well organized. Highly recommended!

First time here. Ordered the best chicken phở and it was really really good. Nice size chunks of tender shredded chicken. It was seasoned good. The bowl was huge and more than I could eat. Enjoyed it. Will come again.

This is my 3rd visit to Nam noodles. Rice village X 2 and River Oaks once. Had green phở each time all take out. Totally consistent. Never thought I’d try this type of place. Love it. I skip the spicy add in sauce, but that’s the genius of this place. Make it as simple as you want and I learned at the river oaks location you can add vegetables to your order from the salad bar. Didn’t see that at the rice village location. Quick, clean, great value. Friendly service.

Great for an American pallet. It’s like a Vietnamese café express. I like it my friend did not

Got lemon grass chicken yesterday and it was good! My wife thought it was strange to go here for my birthday dinner, but we both enjoyed the meal; and took some home for later.

I love the fact that this place has one of the FEW truly vegan phở in Houston. I can’t believe that NOLA has more phở places that carry vegan phở than Houston, but it’s true. The vegan phở is pretty tasty, but I’ve had better in other cities. Am I complaining? No… I can actually eat this, and have a smile on my face. The service is very similar to fast food, where you pay first at the counter, and then they bring your food out to you. The prices for phở are VERY steep considering this is phở… I mean $ 10 for a bowl of phở… wow. I guess the days of $ 4.99 phở are over with, and we need to be content with what we are dealt with… Nam thanks. I’ll be back.

Won’t be going back. Ordered the thai spicy noodle, and while the chicken solid, the noodles were inedible. I didn’t know it was possible for food to have too much flavor, but here we are. It was as if I was chewing on the spices and oils they made the noodle with. The hot and sour soup was average. Very disappointed.

We just went here for the second time and I am so glad that we retried this place. The first time I got phở and thought it was ok but wouldn’t order it again. This time I got the marinated pork which was very good! I don’t eat rice and they were very accommodating and gave me more vegetables. They have a bar area where you can get lettuce leafs, cilantro, cabbage and limes. I would go back!

Man this place hooked it up for me. I had the coconut curry fish and rice. I swear the GM Melvin made it happen. The atmosphere is good though. I randomly came in because of my Co worker. Lunch specials are fairly priced, but if you want something good, go for the coco curry.

i tried my first phở in cambodia back in june, since then i fell in love with it, this place phở took me back there, is a generous portion with a nice ratio of meat, noodles, broth, you add the extras, fresh vegetables, clean place to a fear price with nice service. I will come back for more.

I love NAM. The food is consistently good, and the service is great. Yes, you’ll pay more than you would for the same type of food in Chinatown, but we’re not in Chinatown, and I don’t mind paying more for close, great, consistent food. And I think that’s why I love NAM so much — it’s just so darn consistent. I end up at NAM with family at least once every 2 – 3 weeks. And we’ve never had a bad meal. I once even ordered takeout from this location. I said I wanted to pick up an hour after I placed the order. They called 30 minutes later asking if I planned to come get my food and if I had ordered from the right location. I will honestly say that I wasn’t at my nicest when I mentioned that my food wasn’t even supposed to be ready for another 30 minutes. Management quickly accepted responsibility for preparing the order early and made a whole new order(no small thing because I had ordered for 6 adults and 2 kids) for us. When I walked in, they were still bagging up the piping hot food. Phở is one of my favorite comfort foods, and when I need the healing that can only come from a bowl of phở, I always come to NAM. I hope you do too.

I’ve done both takeout and dine-in here and have had pretty good experiences both ways. I always order regular old chicken phở, which is pretty hard to mess up. It can be kind of greasy here, but if I’m ordering it because I’m feeling a little under the weather I don’t really mind. The take-out packaging here gives NAM a pretty serious edge over some other nearby phở places– the«dry» ingredients(noodles, meat etc.) come in a large plastic bowl and the broth comes in a regular soup container. This is MUCH easier to eat than the places that put the«dry» stuff in a regular styrofoam container, since with NAM’s setup you pour the broth directly into the bowl.(In the typical«other» setup, it’s difficult to eat your chicken and noodles since they sink to the bottom of the tall, narrow soup container.) NAM also gives you a disposable soup spoon(the kind you use if you’re doing dine-in at any asian restaurant.) I think I’d give this place only 3 stars if their takeout setup wasn’t so awesome since the phở itself is pretty average, but they do have pretty good broth and I’ve never been disappointed with my food, service, or wait time… so 4 it is!

I’m adding a star because of the management. Rarely do i read responses to the few negative reviews I’ve written on Unilocal. However, I appreciate the owners perfect response to my original review. He simply asked me to visit again, because he felt that day may have not been the best representation of their food. So, I went. I ordered the phở this time. It was not anything amazing, but hit the spot on a day I was craving the comfort of some phở noodle. Everybody is really very polite when I visited. I still don’t think they have the best flavor in Vietnamese food in Houston, but it’s hard to beat Phở Bihn and Huynh. Their flavor is just so good! But, for something close by in my neighborhood, I’ll take it. And two thumbs up for the management.

Nam has a couple locations around Houston and had some time so spare before a movie at Sundance. You order at the counter and they bring out your food quickly so it’s a good spot for a quick dinner. It’s basically a mix of Chinese, Japanese, Vietnamese, and Thai cuisine and I went with the sesame chicken with brown rice with a sweet mango tea. Food’s good but they kind of gip you on the meat so I have to take off a star. A lot of rice but not as much meet as you would expect and as is standard at most Asian restaurants. The mango tea is great, I even got a refill when I barely ever do that. We also shared the spicy chicken wings which had a nice little kick but not that spicy as I’m not big on spicy to begin with. The sauce was sweet and tangy with some siracha to spice things up(however you spell it). Employees are healthy so I recommend it, just wish they gave you a little more protein!

I’ve ordered from here a couple of times and honestly the phở better than some dine-in places I’ve been to. The v-bowls are delicious and there isn’t a single bad thing on the menu. A little pricey, but worth every penny. NAM ain’t fucking up.

I was sick and needed some hot soup pronto! This was the closest Vietnamese restaurant so I decided to take a chance. I originally wanted to order the ramen but they didn’t have it available. I found this interesting since it was a Saturday afternoon. So while I’m scanning the menu to pick something else, the other 3 employees behind the counter were having their own conversation. I wouldn’t think of anything but they were speaking very loudly which I found a bit distracting and honestly rude. I finally decided on the Saigon egg noodle soup. While waiting for my food, I noticed the build your own condiment station so I thought that was cool. There are many times when I will request more of something or not even use the condiments they provided which was wasteful. This is a bit more efficient. The portions are big! I was given 2 jumbo shrimp with big chunks of minced pork and bbq pork. But good soup in my opinion is determined by the broth. Sad to say but the broth was not good at all. It was way too salty for my taste. I let the boyfriend try some which he agreed was too salty. I added 3 limes but it didn’t help. Meh. now I know. There are a bajillion other Vietnamese restaurants I can choose from in Houston. Definitely not coming back here again.

Gotta hand to to this restaurant: they try hard to please. The service is great, the minimalistic décor is spot on, the bathrooms smell nice n’ citrusy, the vegetables are fresh, and their overall presentation is solid. Nevertheless, no amount of good showmanship can cover up the fact that their food is bland. It’s not terrible… but tastes impeccably boring. No spice at all with very little flavor. If the food tasted as good as it looked then they’d be one of the best Vietnamese places inside the loop. But there are just way to many mouth-watering similar restaurants in Midtown to give them a better vote than average(i.e. Red Pier and Mai). I hate to talk about portions because frankly, most Americans view of what an ideal portion should be is too freakin’ big. Having said that, like another reviewer said earlier, they skimp you on the meat and load your bowl with noodles. I had six small pieces of beef and three shrimps. Am I being unreasonable? You tell me. I’m all for quality over quantity but when your food is average at best, it’s probably best to include more than a couple pieces of meat in a «meat combo.» Overall, this place reminds me of a really attractive girl who has little to nothing going on upstairs. At first you’re impressed by how she looks, only to find out later her favorite television show is Keeping up the with Kardashians :/ Note: the picture I took of my platter was taken up close so everything looks bigger than what it was.

Excuse typos, I’m writing this as i scarf my food down! This place is awesome! I called at 830, food was here in about 25 minutes. The food is definitely fresh, which is a welcome change from other casual Asian delivery options. I ordered the crab-tons, they were huge and it was a generous order, very good. The dumplings were great as well, loved the dumpling sauce. The lemongrass beef and chicken are both really flavorful. And the fried rice is out of this world! It’s so fresh, I don’t know if I’ve ever had fried rice knock my socks off like this. The food is the tiniest bit pricey for takeout HOWEVER, the quality and flavor make it well worth it. The delivery driver was pretty friendly as well. He will be seeing a lot of me because I have a feeling this will be a staple delivery at my place!

OMG How I hate to write this review for the place that I love… Last night we got food to go and it was lackluster. The phở that we received was packed very nicely and looked inviting, but the broth was lukewarm — almost like it had been sitting on a counter for a long time before it was picked-up. I am going to say that this is ‘one-off’ moment and maybe the cold weather impacted the temperature, but cold broth with the phở is not a good mix. We did get the wings and they were good — nice and warm and and yummy indeed. Because this place has always surpassed my expectations, I feel comfortable going back. I would just make sure that your broth is nice and warm before leave if you get it it to. I am still a fan.
