History

Established in 1981.

The boat docked on highway 6 back in 1981 by Captain Paul. Many of memory’s here of customers coming here as a child sitting upstairs with panoramic windows. An eclectic atmosphere with plenty of interesting vintage finds the owner has displayed. Recently custom built deck for sitting outside with an ice cold beer and a couple of pounds of Hot steaming Crawfish!

I can’t describe how nasty the food was… Raw oysters wasn’t cold and the taste was horrible! I know what fresh oysters taste like. Then the stuffed red snapper! Are you kidding me? It’s came out tilapia I can tell what the different between tilapia and red snapper! False advertisement. I will never ever return to this nasty place.

Well all I can tell you that we arrive at 2:10 (thirty minute wait) and we haven’t been served. I had to go ask for the waitress a couple of times finally after I stood at the door did she come over. Tables are dirty outside I’ve been to this place many times and I’ve never had single problem. Always love their food however right now I can’t tell you all the food will taste I’m just so displease with the service. We bought beer and food-​we really big spenders and tippers– waitress changed our mood. I really believed they were under staff on a Friday afternoon… I will really have to think about it before coming here again as much as I loved coming here before. Not happy that we were ignored.

Food wasn’t bad. Grilled vegetables were actually boiled. The a/​c wasn’t working inside. The waitress was nice. They need to remodel and a Friday night band would’ve been nice.

Great margaritas and perfect gumbo! The staff is very friendly and helpful. The owner is always around! I love when I can see upper management who actually care about their establishment. I love their lunch specials. Very reasonable prices!

The crawfish have no flavor and they were overpriced. In case you were wondering the service was terrible and i was the only person there eating. I will not be coming back to this place EVER! I should have taken the sign that nobody else was eating here and kept diving. Oh well lesson learned.

Awful service. The waitresses were extremely rude and we will not be coming back. They used to be super awesome and hospitable, the food was great. We just returned from out of town and this place is horrible. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE. IT IS A WASTE OF MONEY AND TIME.

I must say i haven’t been to Paul’s in about 10 years but i must say my last visit which happened to be an hour ago sucked! First off the customer service was horrible, it took the waitress 10 minutes to greet me and the crawfish tasted extremely bland, no seasoning what so ever. I will never go back to this establishment so if your thinking about seafood or food in general I strongly recommend that you try somewhere else.

Came in for lunch and drinks with friends service was slow. Drinks were alright. And the food just sat in the window while we watched people pass by, Travis, think he is the manager just sat outside didn’t seem to help his staff [ two girls only working on this busy suhday] ill be back because it’s close by… But hope its a better experience next time

Not worth the price you pay. Had to find my own menu to order and then find a server to order. Small portions and not very good. Maybe bar food at best. Fish and fried hash browns not fish and chips. 1 star because the margarita was good.

This ship should sink. My date & I wanted to try the place. Sorry I didn’t read reviews first. She did not like the seafood gumbo, not much seafood. The fried oysters were over cooked which made them rubbery and bland tasting have to return to Capt. Toms for good taste and better prices.

I really want to LOVE this place, but it’s not in me. We frequent Paul’s Boat because of the margaritas & oysters. They have really delicious burgers and I believe the «crawfish» is very popular as well. The servers are always awesome. That’s pretty much it!
There menu is slightly overpriced for what it is and everything doesn’t taste good at all.
We have ordered other items and it was BAD. They have an area on the patio for a band but I have yet to see someone perform. I don’t own a restaurant or anything BUT I believe if they changed their menu a little… booked some local bands… and added a few more beers on tap THEN they would be the place to be.
Don’t get me wrong, I do like this place… hell, I have over 10 check-​ins. When we do dine here, ALL we order is the oyster platter, 1 margarita & 1 beer. Wish we could order more.

I had to give one star because 0 stars is not an option. Not only is the food has no flavor, it’s more pricy than other seafood places. We definitely paid for way more than how the foods quality actually is. Never ever coming back. This place actually is very close to my home, and everytime i drive across it, it’s like a painful memory to my taste bud and my wallet. NO thanks !

Places like this is the reason why Unilocal exists. Went here without looking up the reviews on this place because we were cravin’ seafood late one this evening. This place was dive-​y. The food, even from looking at the photos off the menu, looked/​was mediocre at best. I didn’t want to chance it and order seafood because I was skeptical about the place. I went safe and just had an appetizer. Most foods were pre-​frozen. This place shouldn’t even be considered a restaurant, more of a bar/​icehouse. We went here as a last resort because Captain Tom’s was super duper packed. The food needs some help, including the décor. Server automatically added a 20% gratuity on the bill. That’s a BIG pet-​peeve of mine — 15% I can understand; 18% if I’m eating dim sum, maybe, but 20% at an icehouse struggling to make it as a restaurant? Yea, I don’t think so. And we are not cheap people either. I probably will never return.

I would give this place a solid 2.5. I got a crawfish poboy, my wife got a chicken sandwich, and my niece got a shrimp quesadilla. When we got places we like to try each other’s food. My poboy was very disappointing. The second I touched it it fell apart. The bread was dry, so I ending up just picking at it and eating the crawfish out of it. My niece’s quesadilla was ok, but there was something a little off about it. She didn’t even finish it. My wife’s chicken sandwich was actually good, but forgettable. We spent waste too much money and time. Our waitress left us waiting almost 15 minutes for the check. The part I did like about it was the atmosphere. The restaurant itself is pretty amazing though! It definitely stands out. In one of the booths outside you can eating a boat. Although the food is very mediocre, you will at least have fun hanging out there.

Paul’s Boat is one of those places that you go if you want an interesting night with pretty good food, and will be satisfied with no more than that.
I’ve been going to Paul’s Boat for about 5 years and it is consistently okay. The food is not imaginative but good. Essentially, this is good standard fare that is better on days that the patio can be used.
Good for a group.
