Maybe they do good work on newer or American cars… but not on my 1982 Mercedes… not too mentioned after they replaced the compressor… the a/​c belt broke… and they wanted to charge me extra to replace it…

One of the last bastions of superior, old-​school automotive service in Houston. I was fortunate enough to have had S&S recommended to me by a friend and from the moment I arrived, I knew S&S was a superior service shop. This place embodies honor and integrity and they truly take pride in their experience and craftsmanship. S&S has been around for nearly 35 years (in the same location) and that just doesn’t happen by coincidence. These guys are remarkable master technicians; many of whom have been employed with S&S for decades. I cannot say enough about the honesty and integrity of this shop. S&S has found a lifelong customer in me and I enthusiastically recommend them to anyone needing automotive service. You will not be disappointed– S&S is the pinnacle of customer service and value and for me, the standard to which all others will be held. Thank you, S&S!

Thanks Unilocal*,I found these guys on here and they took care of me. My dad is a retired mechanic and lives in Chicago so I had him handle all the estimate stuff. He said the guy was legit and said the price was about where it needed to be. Plus, they talked old school top fuel drag racing so I felt like they have a bond. I don’t know, it made me feel at ease, the racing bonding.
Anyway, they arraigned towing and had me done right away. I was pleased even though it kind of cost more than I expected (not their fault, I guess I never figured in labor when my dad worked on my car).
I’m guessing with this guy being a race car car he’s really not into doing it half-​assed. As a new guy to town, I felt like I was treated well. His wife even runs the front of the shop. That’s pretty cool.

This is their 30^th year of business. As anyone should know being in business for 30 years is unheard of. There is a reason why they are still around.
They know what they’re doing. I wish I could remember the owners names, husband and wife. They were both really nice and very helpful.
I arrived with a trailer attached to my van and they let me drop it in one of their parking spaces while I had work done, their son came over to help me put blocks under the wheels. Then I brought my stuff inside the waiting room to do some work. I ended up talking to Denise I suppose about music and what I do. She was a music major back in the day.
She also let me go back into the shop to check out where the fuel filter is, because I was hoping I might be able to do it if it was easy, but no. They also fixed the A/​C to frigid! And they replaced a belt and told me why it was happening, one of the round things the belt was sitting was too small, so it tore up the belt, which is the last mechanics fault. So these guys saved me a trip by the side of the road.
After all was said and done, their son expertly backed the van up to the trailer. Then Denise walked me out to my van to make sure I got there alright. What awesome people/​mechanics.

We ended up taking our car to S&S on a friend’s recommendation, after we had a $ 2000 estimate for repairs on our car from another place. One day and $ 600 later we drove away from S&S with the car in perfect shape.
S&S is a little out of our way but we don’t take our cars anywhere else. Everytime I go there Denise makes me feel like I’m dropping the car off at my grandma’s house for repairs.
They do what is necessary at the best price for quality work.
