We live in the apartment complex down the road and wanted a quick breakfast, so we dropped in. The donut holes were so soft and delicious warmed up along with the jalepeno kolache, which was the perfect amount of spicy! The storefront was hospital clean from the floors to the counter tops. But I think the best component of our visit was the smiling worker behind the counter. He was so helpful and pleasant, this is definitely the way you want to start your day… With a deliciously soft warm donut from a gigantic SMILE!

Went there 3x usually around 10am and there were slim pickings… Glazed and donut holes. Time before that I got there at 7am and there was definitely a selection. my god the icing on the donuts are amazing and definitely uses bread made from scratch I just wish they would make enough to last until 10

The donuts were so good that my wife didn’t realize when hers were gone. I really enjoyed the jalapeño sausage kolache as well. A+ for cleanliness and friendly staff as well.

I don’t eat donuts really, but I can certainly vouch for their cheese/sausage«kolaches»(in the most Texan sense of the word). Soft bread, deliciousness throughout. Clean, quick service.(I’ve never been present during peak hours though.)Also, one quirky tidbit: the first few times I visited, they kept diet cherry Coke stocked in their cooler.

Love the donuts here! The husband and I stop by here after we take the little one to school, and of course she has some waiting for her when she gets home. In our opinion the are way better than Shipley’s. And it’s something about their breakfast croissant, that’s just oh so delicious!

Friendly service and delicious donuts! I wish they had the maple bacon donut everyday instead of just weekends though.

I have been coming here for about a year and I absolutely LOVE this donut place! The customer service is outstanding and the donuts, kolaches, and breakfast biscuits/croissants are delicious. I would absolutely recommend all of my family and friends to come here. I love the atmosphere and I love the wide selection that they have. They’re always stocked with all types of donuts no matter what time it is and I just love that’s it’s right down the street from where I live. *the maple icing donuts are DELISH& so are the blueberry cake donuts* Will definitely be back when I am in the mood for donuts.

They have the best donuts and kolaches in Houston. The dough on kolaches is airy, soft and just perfect. The staff is exceedingly nice and patient. Tip: get the maple bacon donut that is only available on the weekend.

Hands down the BEST donuts in Houston. I am addicted to their old fashion donuts, they melt in your mouth. The Blueberry cake is also amazing! I’ve tried almost every donut around Houston and no one comes close! Oh and forgot to mention they have great kolaches! Go there now!

I decided to swing by before heading to work on a Saturday morning. When you’re working over the weekend, donuts are a necessity! I always pass by S&S on my way to work and have always wanted to give it a try. I skimmed the reviews on Unilocal and was pleased with the great reviews! I stopped in for a dozen donuts, and the gentleman at the counter was very patient with me, even though there was a line behind me and I changed my mind about 4 times. I only got to try the original cake donut, but I thought it was perfect, and I heard nothing but rave reviews from my coworkers. The savory items also look delicious, so I’ll definitely be back!

Stopped by on my way to work looking for the maple donut with bacon but they only have them on the weekend:-(I decided to go for a chocolate twist, strawberry glaze and large sausage and cheese kolache…(don’t judge, I was hungry and for the record I’m saving the strawberry for lunch dessert!). Back to my review, twist was very tasty and light but the kolache was the star of my trip. There was no overkill of bread… just the right proportion to the yummy cheesy sausage. I’d go back just for that. The gentleman that helped me was very nice and welcoming. On my way out, a policeman stopped in for a dozen… lol…got a little laugh out of that and went about my day. In a nut shell, enjoyed it and I’ll be back!

I’ve been going to S&S for over 15 years. I know, I’m a fat kid at heart. They’ve evolved over the years but only for the better. Even though I miss their original location,(purely for nostalgic reasons) their new location is easier to get to and from given where my parents live. They also used to supply donuts to St. Max so after mass, I would always look forward to my glazed donut. Ah, memories…:) Needless to say, I HAVE to hit up S&S whenever I’m in the area. They have this amaze-balls croissant kolache that I haven’t ever been able to find anywhere else. ITISSOGOOD! Crispy crust, flavorful sausage and just the right amount of cheese makes it hands down one of the best things ever. I’ve tried to recreate the item at home with Pillsbury dough, but my attempts have been futile at best. Other notable items include chocolate sprinkle donuts(which my nieces go crazy for) as well as the maple bacon donut. I seriously always look forward to going to S&S even if I have to spend a few extra days at the gym!

Best Kolaches in town! The Kolache dough is very light and flavorful. I usually order the sausage and cheese and it never lets me down. This is our stop every Sunday on the way to church. Everything is always fresh. This is a family owned and operated business and they provide great service.

Stopped by here with my son. The place was clean and bright. The staff was very friendly and donuts and breakfast fare very affordable. I love walking into places that appreciate my business and ask for me to come back. I will be sure to, because it’s obvious the people there have great pride in their business and the regulars were there to prove it. Thanks for a great breakfast experience!

the bread to their kolaches is very delicious, i mean the kolache itself is yummy. the only thing is that the sausage is rather small so i felt like i was eating mosty bread, but since the bread tastes amazing i am still giving them four stars.

In short: Best donuts and kolaches in the area, best donuts and kolaches in town. Better than any of the donut chains and yes, better than Christy’s. It’s a great neighborhood place run by a very nice family. I moved to the med center years ago, but still make the drive up to S&S. Other donut places make things that might be a combination of too bready, too dense, too dry, too sticky, too greasy, too heavy, or too cloyingly sweet, but S&S gets all the tastes and textures right in my book, and I’ve tried it all. Try the ham and cheese croissant, it’s great!

They moved… Quality still awesome, they are on West Road now… Cute couple that are the owners. Very friendly and wonderful kolaches. Not much in varieties but very good. Try the jalapeño kolache or the ham and cheese croissant.
