I eat here often and I bring friends here and they always enjoy the food. Very simple, clean, and great location. Its not the flair of a fancy place like RA but its a comfortable and casual low key neighborhood place to enjoy a glass of wine and eat good food. The manager is very friendly and sweet always comes by and ask how we are doing. I love the quite relaxing atmosphere after a long busy day. I have eaten many items on the menu and the PRICES are right for lunch and dinner. Always very fresh I am not a fan of real spicy food my choices are always excellent. I highly recommend the Shrimp Shumai Appetizer it’s yummy. The salad with ginger dressing is very good. My family loves the green tea ice cream with fried banana’s oh so good. If you like simple and fresh you can’t go wrong.

We came here this past Friday night around 7:30…dead… that should have given us a hint but we needed to eat something on the healthier side. We ordered the golden tofu, seaweed salad, tonkatsu, shaggy dog roll, and unagi roll. We enjoyed the golden tofu… it’s nicely battered with some of the agedashi sauce poured on it, but it’s not totally drenched like the usual agedashi. Seaweed salad was normal. The shaggy roll was a bit bland… unagi roll was simple… but nothing memorable. Tonkatsu only came with a small bowl of rice. I guess I was hoping for some sides or something to come with it for $ 10.50. I think the prices are a bit high for the quality and amount of food. It’s a nice little restaurant but maybe they need to do something to draw in more customers… because it sure does look dead all the time.

Met my son and a friend(in Houston from Ohio for a long weekend) here for lunch today. There weren’t too many people there, so it made for a great place to «visit,» as we could actually hear each other speak. The service was excellent. We had an order of vegetable tempura — very tasty — while waiting on our entrees. All of us enjoyed something from the lunch menu, which included a choice of soup or salad. I had the miso soup — very good. One of the other members of my party had the salad and loved the dressing. I had the brown rice vegetable fried rice. My son had the bulgogi vermicelli bowl. His friend had vegetable yakisoba noodles. Everyone enjoyed their food. The fried rice was a little bland — nothing that a little soy sauce didn’t fix. Portions were nice for lunch — enough that we left feeling very satisfied, but not so much that we needed to ask for half of our meal to-go.

Ugh. The server was really strange, kept asking us the same random questions over and over. And pushy at recommending dishes. And strange. Food was forgettable. My tempura udon noodle had clear soup. two shrimps, a piece of snow pea and a piece of broccoli. I’ve had instant noodle that’s more exciting. The good thing about the food is the owner keeps very fresh stock of inventory despite the low amount of customers, and the place is quite clean and orderly. Specialty rolls were quite small for the price. I recommend: get a better server, and get a professional restauranteur to help do an overhaul of the place(menu and food need to be more exciting — for example spicy Ramen with pork, corn, mountain veggies, and a thick soup stock; décor is very stark — play with lighting, have some flowers on the tables, happy music, drink specials; could use some advertisement in the front /flyers to attract the supermarket shoppers close by — location is a goldmine with so much traffic. Another story of a little local place that could be so much more…

I came here for lunch and thought it was good! I had the bulgogi vermicelli bowl, and my husband had a yaki soba noodle bowl. The lunch specials came with the choice of miso soup or salad with homemade ginger dressing. We both tried the salad and I thought the dressing was really good. I’m a big fan of ginger though, and appreciated the sharp taste it gave the salad. My vermicelli bowl was delicious! Very reminiscent of the type of noodle bowl that you’d have at a Vietnamese restaurant, except with bulgogi. It had cilantro, lettuce, cucumber and carrots. They served it with a homemade fish sauce that was very tasty. When I asked about it, our waitress said they put lemon in it, which a lot of places don’t do. It almost had a pleasant sweetness to it instead of the usual pungent smell. My husband’s noodle bowl was tasty as well… it came with cabbage, beef and onion. The service was beyond good, it was excellent. Our waitress was very attentive and aware of any needs we had, like forks instead of chopsticks(because I suck at using those), sriracha, drink refills, etc. It’s not a busy place, so it’s a good place to check out for lunch, to avoid the crowds.

The food at Snow Peas is simply not very tasty – and I’ve given this place multiple tries. The first time I came I had the kalbi(Korean Short Ribs). They were awful – very bland, with none of the flavor and sweetness that a good Korean BBQ marinade provides. The second time I came in I thought I would try the Japanese side of their menu instead, so I got a couple of simple maki rolls and a few pieces of nigiri. Unfortunately, it wasn’t good either. The fish was fresh but not high quality(tasted bland and the texture was off), and the sushi rice was too hard. My wife had the bi bim bop on our first trip here, and she thought it was decent… so I guess that’s at least 1 thing that is okay here. Anyway, I much prefer the other fast/Asian Asian dining options in the area(e.g., the Korean places inside the Ranch 99 supermarket and down the street at the food court in the H-Mart).

This place is more like a café than a restaurant. The décor is kind of stark. The music is instrumental, so it’s pretty quiet. The staff is super nice and the food came out quick. I ordered the Shrimp Tempora Udon Noodle soup and a Spider roll. The soup was served piping hot and good. The Spider roll was also good. I liked that the food didn’t feel heavy and tasted fresh.

Japanese/Korean fare, great for quick lunch our take-out but not as good as some of the more authentic restaurants in the area.

We love this small place. Food is great and staff is very warm and friendly. Love the fried brown rice and vegetables. On the last visit tried the tuna and avocado roll which was delicious. Also love the eggplant appetizer.

This is not a typical korean restaurant. They don’t serve the usual appetizers(pan chan, I think) that other places do. The bulgogi was marginal. It was too soggy and lacking in flavor. I hated the atmosphere of the restaurant. It is all one room, and sound carries way too much. I felt like I had to whisper the entire time. And for some reason they were playing jazz, which I thought was just weird and out of place for a Korean restaurant. I will not be going back primarily because I want the full Korean experience and not just a place that happens to serve Korean food.

Came here for lunch, and maybe I’m asking a lot but it feels like for a $ 9 lunch($ 10+ w/tip), that I should be getting more food. I ordered the Crazy Bowl which is basically daejibulgolgi mixed w/veggies over rice. I mean part of lunch specials should be like soup + salad, or if you’re making me choose between soup or salad, should give a few pan-changs being Korean. No complaints on the service, it was also not that busy. No complaints on the taste of the food either. People that worked there were also very nice.

Tried the bulgogi fried rice since I haven’t seen it offered anywhere else in Houston — it was good, but definitely too pricey for the small portion — especially with so many different choices for Korean food in the area.

one of my favorite go-to restaurants whenever i can’t decide what i want to eat! not to mention it’s super close to my house. it’s a small family-owned restaurants and it usually doesn’t get too packed. the service is always good and the food is always delicious! i highly recommend the crazy pork! the only downside i can think of is that they don’t turn up the ac and it gets super hot, but they’re always more than willing to fix whatever it is if you mention it to them! i really hope this restaurant stays forever so i highly recommend anyone to try!

We stopped in here after climbing one day to grab a quick lunch. I had driven past it several times so thought it was about time to try it. Boy am I glad I did! Very clean inside. We were greeted pleasantly as soon as we walked in. Service was consistent and not overbearing. Always had fresh water without feeling interrupted by the waitress. We had the seaweed salad to start. Very fresh. I’m not sure if you can mess seaweed salad up, but this one was spot on. We each had the rainbow bowl — a bowl of fresh raw fish with veggies over a bed of sushi rice. Everything was fresh and light. I didn’t care for the special sauce(served on the side), but my friends really liked it. It was a great quick lunch. I will be coming back again!

Pricey for the amount of food that they serve you per serving. The food itself is not bad, but nothing special.

Stopped in there for a late lunch. Ordered the spicy salmon and spicy tuna rolls for lunch. Looking forward to fresh rolls for lunch. Boy was I disappointed. Rice on the rolls were hard and there was not much flavor. The spicy oil put on the fish totally overwhelmed the sushi itself. I will not be going back for sushi.

Having recently returned from a gastro-punishing trip to sunny Orlando(what, a place with more disgusting chains and stripmalls than Houston?!?), the family and I were driving home from the airport in need of food that was not fried or made from frozen but also not too involved(because we were tired and worried about ticking time bomb children) and close-ish to the house(because we were tired and worried about ticking time bomb children, duh). So the wife suggests Snow Peas. She had been once for lunch, I had never gone. Now normally, everything my wife says registers in my brain as sounds of a cat being eaten by a monkey while being spun in an industrial dryer but this one day her words penetrated my defenses and… made sense. So we go and it is a nice, clean little place with one very friendly waiter(it was late so only one other table was occupied as well). Wifey orders Bee Bim Bop, I the crazy pork, and then edamame and a fried fish appetizer for kiddos. Wifey likes the BBB but wishes it was in a stone bowl as in more traditional Korean restaurants, edamame was… well. edamame(but amazingly delicious and fresh tasting after the Orlando Gastro Assault of 2010). Kids ate all the fish and I tried a bite and it was pretty good — red snapper instead of mystery fish and breading was not too heavy. I, however, had a religious experience with the pork. I have been avoiding all meat lately but felt like pork anyway so went for spicy and hoped that my stomach would not pay for it later. First bite — «not bad» and subsequent biuyes kept getting better and better. The park was good quality lean pork, the spice was strong but not nuclear, and the overall flavor was somewhat akin to bulgogi but not. Well marinated, a tiny sweet, good heat, and savory highlights. Then add some nice onions and wonderful carrots. Seriously, I love me some pickled carrots and these seemed to have been a little picked and then sautéed in the yummy pork and sauce. By the end of the meal I had asked for more rice to eat and eat and eat the pork. I made a few audible noises while eating as well that wifey mistook for complaints or something with the kids. My response — «no…pork…good» was all the clarification needed. Pork = 5 stars but I will need to eat more than one thing to give 5 overall to Snow Peas. If you read this review stop what you are doing and eat there. Now. And often. I don’t care if you don’t like it. I just want them to stay in business so I can have my pork.

I had to stop by a place on Campbell to grab a gift certificate on my way down 10, driving home to Austin. As it happened I also needed to grab a bite to tide me over the next couple hours, and I started looking around. I figured I’d slip into the old Fiesta to grab something for the road but saw Snow Peas instead. I thought it had a cute name, and when I pulled up there was parking out front — sold! I figured I’d grab a spring roll or something to go but when I walked in I decided to stay. It was nice and cool and clean and quiet in there — simply decorated with a single flat screen on the wall. The TV made it seem less fancy than the overall vibe of the place, and I was instantly comfortable and wanted to sit down to enjoy a nice meal. I got my magazine from the car and settled into a booth. I ordered the shrimp tempura sushi roll and my request for spicy mayo on the side didn’t make the waitress blink at all. I can’t imagine I waited much more than 5 minutes, but it was obvious they just fried it up right then and there. The roll was extremely fresh — the real giveaway is the rice — and tasty. Just perfect. Since I’d already decided I was there to relax and treat myself I ordered the banana tempura for dessert. I would absolutely return here to eat more sushi, but this dessert was FANTASTIC. OMG. they deep fried a *very slightly under ripe banana in tempura batter, then serve thick slices of banana(cut on an angle) with your choice of ice cream and a drizzle of chocolate sauce. Wow. I have a new place to hit up every time I go home — lucky for me this little gem is right off I-10. The lady serving me was a sweetheart and made pleasant conversation once I made it clear I was open to it. Apparently that shopping center has seen its ups and downs. They are two months old and hoping to make it. The only potential deterrent from the past the parking situation — but she has reserved spots out front to help. I don’t care if you have to park on the other side of I-10, get your butt there!
