St Michael’s Emergency Room

Very very rude receptionist. Anna. I called before coming and Anna told me to come after I explained the insurance who would be covering it. She had zero knowledge of workers comp insurance procedures in Texas and asked to call my job at 8pm after I told her that department is now closed and that is NOT the protocol. I told her why did she have me come all the way there in pain just to turn me away. She lied and said she told me otherwise. I said DO YOU REALLY THINK I WOULD DRIVE HERE AFTER YOU TELL ME I CANT BE SEEN? She
Then apologized to the person waiting behind me and smurked as if I were an inconvenience. So rude and condescending.
After talking to a manager on duty at my job, They repeated to her everything I said about worker comp protocol and they are not the source for that info. She needs customer service training and training on insurance policies!!! Workers comp,
Personal injury, etc! At the end so she said well you didnt tell me your date of injury on the phone, I said DID YOU ASK? (thinking,
How am I supposed to do YOUR job?)
I was so exhausted and in pain that I went home and found another emergency room the next day. Waste.

Very expensive !! Wait to see your physician if at all possible. Nice staff and no wait though.

I came in at 1 am on Tuesday morning with edema in both legs; right leg more swollen with redness and was taken to a cozy room and seen by Dr. Kobza first and left with nurse Deleta (she was EXCELLENT!!!). They immediately sent for an ultasound, done by a wonderful technican named Veronica, who discovered that I had blood clots in both legs. Thank God for this facility that took SPECTACULAR care of me. Staff members Jason V., Audrey and the kind, and gentle Dr. Schulze stepped in for the starting of the morning shift and showed me a kindness that I had long forgotten when it came to emergency care. I LOVE this place and reccommend it to ANYONE who doesn’t want the long wiat and tedious routine of major hospital rooms. Insurance friendly and immaculent building and rooms!

4 month old was screaming, and we couldn’t figure out why. Thankfully, it was just mucus build up from a cold. I asked the doctor a few questions, and every time, he would roll his eyes, and barely mumble an answer. He barely took a look at my son, had us wait in the pedi room for an hour, and then wrote a prescription for Tylenol, which we told him we were already giving him. We were the only ones there– don’t know why the wait for a Tylenol prescription was so long. I asked if they could clean the mucus; he rolled his eyes, and rudely told me they were out of the equipment, and waiting on a shipment. He let me know my son’s chest was clear, and we declined to do an x-​ray. He then rolled his eyes again, and said «of course you do– your the doctor, aren’t you?» Last I checked, I could accept or deny any medical treatment I wanted for me or my 4 month old. Do not bother to go here; they hire the docs that couldn’t get a job any where else. I am prepared to fight whatever huge bill I receive. I shouldn’t have to pay loads of money for a Tylenol prescription, rude doctor, and a facility that is out of whatever equipment was needed, no matter how minor the problem is.

Charged $ 1550 for a 15 minute visit and X-​ray after quoting me $ 350 to see the doctor. and no tratement was given (except for the $ 15 Ibuprofen pill — yes 1 pill)
They refused to make any adjustment. I filed a complaint with the BBB and they admited that I over paid by 20% but still refused to issue a refund for the 20% till their CFO reviews it within 30 days! Ripoff!
The facility was clean though :)

Very professional, efficient, and empathic staff. I felt welcomed and at ease from the moment I arrived, until I was finished.
There was no wait, and no fuss. Highly recommended.

From out of town, found this emergency care facility to be very nice, clean. The staff very professional, helpful and made a unpleasant situation nice. I would highly recommend.
