I go to Starbucks EVERY single day of my life because I love coffee and I love the service Starbucks provides. I visit locations around Houston and in the states. I always order the same thing, for the same price and the same great service. Unfortunately today, February 18th around 7:15 pm, I was treated like absolute crap by the three baristas working. The cashier was incredibly rude because I let her know my tall iced coffee with soy should be $ 2.44 not $ 3.09. Herself and her counterpart gave me dirty looks and nasty tones. The third barista told me to step away from the counter in an obnoxiously rude tone, hand gestures included. Every other Starbucks charges me the same and tells me soy is not extra for this drink. Why make it a big deal and be so nasty? The extra pennies weren’t the issue. The issue was that I was humiliated publicly by being disrespected by these three women twice, during one visit. Not to mention the wait is always so long.

This Starbucks always has a line. It is also always understaffed. Not sure why they only have 3 people working at 9 a.m. on a Saturday morning in the middle of the Christmas craze. Poor management skills is the only thing I can think of especially since this place always has a line out into the mall. So the cashier had to leave her station to prep more coffee while there is a long line because, other than the two«baristas», she was the only one left to do it. Like I said, poor management skills. Every other store hires extra help or places more employees on shift this time of year except for this place. Other than that? This is your typical place to go if you are desperate for coffee — any coffee. Otherwise, there are plenty of locally owned shops in the Houston area where you can get good coffee and good service. I notice a lot of negative reviews. If you want to keep giving this place money for their crappy coffee and crappy service? Then they will keep taking it and keep giving you crappy coffee and crappy service! Money talks people! So why 3 stars if I am always disappointed with this place? Because I already have very low expectations where this corporation is concerned.

This location has been a Unilocal review waiting to happen. I have reached out to the District Manager for this location, Jean, on multiple occasions in an attempt to solve some serious issues associated here, & despite her previous availability, has now made herself scarce. This leaves me no choice but to document the issues for the public to see, in hopes that corporate takes their appearance seriously. This location is in the mall, a place I frequent quite often for its convenience and solitude. I enjoy several cups of coffee at least three to four times a week here, often spending an hour or two onsite to complete work on my laptop, read, or simply relax & people watch the mall-goers.This has been my «spot» for nearly three years now. I think this religious regularity qualifies me to paint the following picture: My favorite barista(baristo?), Cody, has been MIA for the last few weeks, & I must say, I am severely disappointed. I miss being warmly greeted by my first name, having my order already memorized, and always prepared in a timely and accurate manner. Hands down, this is the best employee here, & I wish he would return so at least one good thing could come out of my visits. With Cody AWOL, I have found no inspiration in waiting in the line that now wraps around the store and into the mall’s isle-way. Instead, I place my order on my mobile app(never mind the fact that it was down for two weeks including on Black Friday) Things I have learned about placing my order on the mobile app: –Your drink will never be ready in the time the app says it will be. –The baristas tend to ignore you even after you’ve been waiting at the counter for half an hour. –You lose out on the personal connection between employee and guest. Things I have learned while waiting at the counter for a ½ hr for my drink: –The process of how drinks are made and received(«Chits» are printed in the order drink orders are received and are stuck on cups that are made accordingly) –There are two separate«prep lines» for cold beverages and hot beverages. –If you ask nicely, a good barista might skip register orders and make your mobile order if they see you’ve been waiting there long enough.(Unlikely.) –Recently, the baristas have been doing a terrible, disgusting job of keeping the counters and their utensils clean. I watch them spill syrup, water, dairy products and everything else onto the countertops, and wipe it off with the same towel over and over. I have also seen baristas press the overflowing trash can down with their bare hands and continue preparing drinks without washing their hands. –Baristas have really nasty attitudes with their managers/other guests. I saw a barista send an 80-year old man to the back of a huge line(that I personally witnessed him wait 30 minutes in the first time) to re-order his drink that he kindly told them they got wrong. That was just sad. –Drinks will get skipped in the order if they take longer to make or are items that are not as popular. Today, I am very done with exercising patience with these people. I placed mine, & my elderly mother’s drink orders way in advance, thus allowing nearly twenty minutes for the drinks to be ready before arriving to the location. When we arrived, I approached the counter & immediately spotted my mother & I’s cups at the back of a very long line of cups. I also noticed that as usual, they appeared to be extremely understaffed w/a VERY long line of people(that was not moving) creeping into the mall’s isle-way. I waited for a few more minutes, sat down at a nearby table, got back up & noticed that despite several drinks being made, our cups were still at the back of a long line of cups– in fact, even farther back than before(this time pushed behind a milk carton.) I asked the barista, Harmony, what the problem seemed to be, and she casually dismissed me. Next, I pointed out to her that I’d already been waiting nearly triple the time I should have been & explained to her that I saw her continuing to push our cups aside. She attempted to explain to me the process of drink-making & grabbed our cups, along with a few others, placing ours at the bottom and told the cold-beverage-barista, «Do these from top to bottom.» Seriously? I called her out on this and said, «So I should prepare to wait another half an hour, right?» and she said, «We have cups ahead of you.» and dismissed me again, this time with an eye roll and snare. 15 minutes later, I got my mother and I’s coffee. Does someone care to explain to me why it took me an hour to get my drink? What is the purpose in being a Gold-member and spending $ 5 on coffee, 3 – 4 times a week, if I’m going to get treated this way? I’d go to another location if I could, but this is my spot, and I shouldn’t be forced to leave a place I’m comfortable simply because a corporation can’t keep their employees in line. I really hope to see some improvement soon, and if I do, I would be more than happy to update this review.

I went to Starbucks at the Memorial City Mall today, and I was trying to order a grande Chestnut Praline Frappuccino but I ordered it through my Starbucks app(so I didn’t have to wait in line). I then realized I placed an order at the wrong location. There was a lady calling drink names to speed the process work(the manager maybe) I let her know my problem and she told me to call and cancel my order because I would get a free drink. The customer service is amazing! I expected her to make me go in the line to reorder though. This took me by surprise! I love the Memorial City Mall Starbucks!

No one at this location knows how to say Thank you to a customer-& the folks preparing the coffees or teas could get it done faster if they would stop with their personal conversations-Hey folks when a customer has their hand out to receive their order why do you just ignore it & place it very close to you one the counter !!!

I’ve been going to Starbucks regularly for about 20 years now and I just had the worst customer experience in 20 years at your memorial city mall location in Houston tx. I ordered a chai and 2 kids white hot chocolates, they told me at 1st that they couldn’t make it smaller than a tall, I told them they’d made them in shorts all the time for me, she figured out how to do it, I voiced that $ 3.75 didn’t seem right but she assured me it was, we get our drinks, I hand my 2 and 4 year olds their white HOTCHOCOLATES, my 4 year makes a horrible face, I take a sip of his sisters, they gave my kids MOCHAS. I told the lady I ordered white hot chocolates, she gets mad at the employees that rang it up but never even so much as a «sorry about that» to me. We get the drinks and walk out into the mall and my 2 year old drops her whole drink, I went back in to ask if they could remake hers but was told too bad, you can order/purchase another. They wouldn’t remake it because she dropped it outside the Starbucks area. I’m pretty irritated at this point and say, «you over changed me for these drinks by ringing them up as mochas and you can’t even make her a new drink?» The manager, the one I’ve been dealing with this whole time then says«what do you want a refund then?» So I said yes, this is ridiculous and they refunded me .87 cents. This manager was the rudest Starbucks employee I’ve EVER come across, I witnessed her being rude and short to everyone in line. I was nothing but polite up until that last interaction. In case you care, she’s short, a little heavy, really short hair, probably has a scowl, and was the manager on duty at 10am 11÷15÷15.

Worse Starbucks of all, employees are clueless, manager is worthless. 25 minutes in line, took 8 minutes for a Starbucks employee off duty to order her coffee and chitchat with the cashier, unbelievable…

Girl at the desk was super sweet but girl making the drinks was kind of snappy. They are understaffed as well, so the service is slow. Just be nice to the tired shoppers paying for your overpriced drinks plz!

The only thing I like about this shop is the location. They underfill your expensive coffee and often don’t get the order right. I continue to do business with them because we walk the mall often and it’s our only option for coffee.

This Starbucks location is completely slow. We waited in line for at least 20 mins. The staff is slow. There were 5 employees including the one who takes the order. They don’t care if the line is too long. They could be under staff but at least acknowledge the customers. I will never come in this location ever again. Don’t waste your time with slow service and very rude employees.

This is the Starbucks located within the mall. While the staff can competently make any requested items, the time it takes due to the number of people ordering can sometimes be exorbitant. For instance, I one time ordered a refresher and waited something like 30 minutes. There was no where to sit so I stood there for the whole time. They clearly had a certain method where such and such employee was in charge of making a certain type of drink. Apparently, the person who was in charge of making refreshers did a lot of other things like stocking and other oddball tasks such that I stood and watched as people who ordered frappucinos 20 minutes after me were served while my refresher had not yet been made because while there were 3 other employees working hurriedly away, the 1 employee who made refreshers was busy with other tasks. So, if you order one of the more common drinks, you are likely to have it out in a decent time, though longer than at other locations for obvious reasons. At any rate, I only order plain coffee from this location since that experience.
