Just had my first appointment with Kimmy this evening. Recently moved to Houston so was worried abt finding someone who I feel comfortable with. From my couple years of experience as a customer of Brazilian wax. I rate the pain level at 1 for scale of 1 – 10. Kimmy was super friendly and professional. Her product and technics limit the pain level to minimum which is pretty amazing for Brazilian wax. I would highly recommend her to anyone.

The place is nice and clean, Kimmy does a great job of distracting you. She is done within 15 minutes. The brazillian with the blue wax is the least painful brazillian I have ever had. However, I started seeing hair growth way too soon. I usually don’t see hair growth until 3 – 4 weeks at least. Not sure if it was the blue wax, but my hair regrowth came back sooner than I’d like.

I moved here a year ago from New York and was worried about finding someone I could trust to wax me and found Kimmy on groupon. I saw the good reviews and the price was half off so why not? Thank god I took a chance Kimmy is awesome! She will make you feel very comfortable while getting a wax and I love that she uses good quality wax. Usually I break out for the first few days but since I’ve been coming to her, I haven’t had an issue. She has a flexible schedule, great at what she do and has a positive attitude! Love her!

Kimmy was very pleasant and the conversations were flowing which made the waxing less awkward. Distractions like these always help make me more at ease while my business is exposed! Waxing was good as she uses the blue wax that hardens, which, in my waxing experiences, has been the least painful, however, I’m used to my usual waxer who plucks out strays afterwards & double checks to make sure everything is cleaned up.
Groupon deal she had advertised was a good deal and her normal pricers are lower than most in the area by 5 $-10 $, but I will probably be loyal to my original waxer.

Kimmy is absolutely amazing. She was quick and kept me distracted the whole time. She’s very warm and personable. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. She is well worth the money and pain. :-)

This was the best, most thorough, least painful wax of my life. I will be making another appointment again soon!

Best wax I’ve ever had. Great personality, quick hands, and no soreness afterward. Made me feel at home… like I was being waxed by a girlfriend of mine.

I love her! I bought a Groupon for a Brazilian and was so happy I did! She is the sweetest and most calming person to be around during a Brazilian wax! She did an AMAZING job and I was happier than I’d ever been during and after having the wax. She is very personable and comforting and doesn’t wait forever to take the wax off which is a huge plus! I hate when people say, «Ok, I’m going to pull now…1…2…3!!!» No way! I can’t do that! I am totally spoiled with Kimmie now. I will only be getting my waxes from her from now on! The place is a little hard to find since it’s on a busy street and it’s just a normal house. When you walk inside, however, it’s a very well manicured (so to speak) salon and spa. Keep up the good work, Kimmie! You’re an inspiration!

After the great reviews, I bought a groupon for a brazilian and am so glad I did. OMG Kimmy was excellent! I have to say it was the least painful wax I’ve ever had.
She’s easy to chat to, puts you at ease easily. and is very quick. Plus a week or so on, and there’s not much regrowth at all (usually I get a lot of ‘broken’ hairs at the skin level at other wax shops, and they grow back quickly vs. the hair that was pulled out cleanly/​at root takes a while longer to regrow).

This IS the best Brazilian I’ve ever had. Kimmie is great and had a regular flow of conversation, which put you at ease. She uses blue hard wax which was absolutely painless! She’s really good at what she does and was able to get the entire area, unlike other places I’ve been to!
PS: There isn’t a sign outside, so be sure not to miss the house number. It does say «Amado» outside but you won’t see that till you’re up close.

Best Brazilian Wax Experience! I have been to a couple of different waxing salons in town and this was the best experience I have ever had. The price is affordable, the environment is relaxing and Kimmie is very experienced. First went through a groupon and have been back several times since. Definitely recommended.

Found a deal on Groupon, and tried calling several times to schedule an appointment. Even left a voicemail, no response. Going to get a refund from Groupon. This business is not very professional — they never pick up their phone!

We all hate that time of the month. And no, I’m not referring to our periods. I’m talking about that time of the month when we dread getting half naked in front of someone else and they proceed to wax off any piece of hair they see. No one ever looks forward to the actual process, and we fear the day that it arrives. However, there are some places that make the process more bearable, almost painless, and leave no spectacle of hair to be seen. Kimmy and The Wax Lab do exactly that. If I say so myself, it’s probably the best Brazilian I’ve ever gotten (yes, EVER!!) and worth every penny.
Although I had a bit of trouble finding the location (it’s located at the back of the Amado Salon, which looks like a house from the front), Kimmy was extremely helpful when I called and also told me parking was in the back (or street parking if you prefer). She rents a room in the back of the salon, and it’s extremely clean and pretty much what you expect of a wax room. She uses stripless wax, which I love (and this one is a gorgeous blue color!!), but unlike other waxes I’ve had, she does a spotless job when it comes to removing hair (even when it’s WAYYY down there). At times, I felt like she was my labor coach during a pregnancy because she tells you how to breathe, when to inhale/​exhale, etc., but however silly you think it is DO IT! It helps ease the pain so much! She’s also really fun to talk to and really knows some of the greatest places in Houston. I’d definitely recommend her to anyone!

I found the Wax Lab and Kimmie through Groupon. It was a bit of a drive for me, but it was such a great experience (surprisingly!) that I keep going back every month. Kimmie is just awesome; super friendly and I always look forward to talking with her. As for the actual waxing, I love the end result and it gets easier every time.
Also: great, relaxing, clean setting. Easy to contact and provides flexible scheduling.

Kimmy is the other esthetician I see for Brazilians. She’s amazing with Brazilians as well:) Find the place though can be a bit of a problem if you’re not familiar with the Montrose area (…for a while I thought that was someone’s house).

Kimmy was nice enough to squeeze me in before the Memorial Weekend, despite her packed schedule; I felt so grateful that I brought her a cup of Starbucks iced passion tea!
Normally, I wince at the slight pain, but out of all my experiences Kimmy was the most swift and painless.
She also has great restaurant/​eatery recommendations!

Amazing, to say the least. I was introduced to this establishment by a LivingSocial grab. Boy was I in for a treat. Although, the establishment can be passed up quite quickly the little arrow directs you where you need to go. Kim, amazing to say the least. Utmost professionalism, made the process quick and easy and def. worth the drive and the buck you’ve/you’re going to spend. Ladies, waxing as we know is not fun it just really isn’t. But, it’s nice when it’s done and smooth as a babies bottom. She was quick, the ambiance great, and she’s walks you through it with great conversation. Would I be willing to pay full price and drive there. Yes! I’ll see her in a month from now! She was just that awesome!

I found Kimmy via a LivingSocial coupon. I love her, the cleanliness of her room, her methods, her wax, everything! Her prices are very middle range, not ridiculous like a high-​end salon, but definitely with much of the salon treatment.
Her place inside Amado Salon IS hard to find, but worth finding. Just note that it looks like a single-​story home. It’s not shady though, definitely a cute, tucked-​away salon.

This place is very hard to find. I thought it was going to be in a strip mall but it actually a salon in a home. Kimmy rents her own little room in that salon. She is very nice and makes you feel comfortable. The process is fast and painless. Very clean also! Will definitely be a regular now.

Kim is awesome! Although I had a deal through Amazon, I will definitely be going back. She is super nice and very professional. Very quick, as well!
