Do not stay here the staff is the unfriendliest staff ever and the facilities seem like they were last updated in ’98. The suites which are absurdly expensive have 27″ tv’s that are 20 feet away from the bed so you can’t see it, and the mattresses are old and crappy. I’ll never stay here again.

Just stayed here for the 2^nd time and it was so great. Super nice, helpful and professional staff — including the wait staff in Van WInkle’s. Specifically, Tammy, Frances and Britney and the hostess/​manager (whose name we didn’t get). There’s so much there even when you’re not skiing to keep everyone happy. The arcade game room, swimming in the heated outdoor pool and hot tub, workout room, spa, huge common room off the lobby with fireplace. It’s a very cozy comfortable place to stay on a ski vacation. There’s a shuttle to the mountain and you’re right next to the sledding/​tubing hill.
There was a problem with our room when we checked in and the manager quickly found us a new room of the same type to switch us into. We were very grateful. It’s not 5 star luxury but if you’re looking for a nice place to stay with your family I can’t recommend this place highly enough.

Loved it! I used to come ski at Hunter with my family as a kid, this was my 1^st time staying at the kaatskill mountain club and it was wonderful. Staff is accommodating, rooms are clean and the food on site is pretty good too. We stayed in the liftside condo and were blown away at the amenities. There’s a large closet and coat hangers in the foyer and some nice large mats to lay your snow shoes too. HUGE kitchen stocked with pots, pans, utensils for cooking, dishwasher, stove/​oven, microwave, coffee pot (2 free coffee packets included), island table, dinning room table, large living room with 2 couches (1 pulled out into a bed), tv, fireplace and balcony all in living room as well. 1 bathroom on the 1^st floor (this bathroom had a washer and dryer too) and another on the 2^nd (this one had a full shower & jacuzzi bath). The 2^nd floor had a large room with a futon connecting the bathroom to the bedroom. Lots of dresser space and spacious closets in the bedroom, plus another tv.
The only down side is that house keeping didn’t come once while we were there. I believe you may have to request this service, but it wasn’t clear. We only stayed 2 nights so it wasn’t really needed. If we stayed longer it would have been nice to have though. Overall I would definitely stay here again! Highly recommended.

I’ve stayed here a few times this hotel would get 4 stars if it wasn’t for the fact that every year the bed mattresses get worse & worse! Your supposed to be able to relax after a night of skiing or snowboarding but you wake up feeling like you took a bat to the back. They certainly charge enough to stay that they could afford to upgrade the mattresses! Please, please update them they are HORRIBLE to sleep on!

Had stayed there on several occasions and NEVER did I have a bad experience UNTIL this past New Years Eve. I got there shortly after dinner time as they had stated there were going to be many events thru out the evening. I missed the fireworks… so I wont comment on them. There were not many events til midnight which was fine… WHAT WASN’T FINE was me not having any hot water to even enjoy my jaccuzzi suit and at about 1:00 upon finally having about enough of the people next to me doing drugs and partying went to the front desk… where NO ONE was there! Kindly keep in mind, I was there with my family to include my 10 year old son!!! We tripped over an entire bag filled with liquor bottles in the hallway had no hot water and smelled drugs all night and couldn’t sleep because of excessive noise. Upon leaving in the morning, I met with the manager who was completely unwilling to even acknowledge a problem with any of it… Let alone some sort of compensation for ruining our New Years Eve! I was actually planning on having my wedding there in this upcoming December. I just read that Hot water heater– this one is the most egregious. They clearly print in the room literature the the hot water heater is not large enough to to support more than one shower or bath. Then they say the guest is expected to wait one to three hours for the water to reheat? Is this a joke!!! I was there for 11 hours and still didn’t get hot water.

Loved it. One of the nicest accommodations I’ve stayed at in the mountains. The units were modern, not dated and very well maintained. The lobby area was gorgeous and made you want to stay there & relax for hours. Their spa services that they offered were excellent. The heated pool & jacuzzi area were beautiful to relax at facing the mountain and the ski lifts. The work out room was nicely outfitted for someone that didn’t get enough exercise on the mountain skiing or zip lining. Lastly, the resturant on the premises was nice to catch a quick meal for the weary traveler that’s too tired to venture out. I’d highly recommend staying here. The staff was very friendly & helpful. I’d definitely come back here again for all seasons of different activities with my family. If your an avid skier I’d consider purchasing a ¼ share here, that’s how much I enjoyed the «Club» !!!

Stayed here as a wedding guest; the upcharging policies and unhelpful staff were a very big downer. We almost missed the shuttle bus to the wedding ceremony because the hotel told us it would be against fire code for three adults to share the room we booked. Here is a description of the room they would not let us stay in from the hotel website:
«You will find this room accommodates a family of four nicely.»
WTF? They basically extorted us into booking a more expensive jacuzzi suite once we arrived.
When we asked to talk to the manager about the forced upgrade, we were told that we should have read the fine print of our reservation confirmation. Also, for a pretty upscale hotel, the lobby and public areas sure do smell mighty musty. Kind of like the bowling alley in the town I grew up in. The hotel itself was quiet, and if I’d wanted an entire kitchen and dining room for my 19-​hour stay, I suppose I would have been very happy with the room.

Myself and 3 friends stayed at kaatskill country club in June 2014, we were there for the taste of country music festival. We had the most wonderful time, the staff were all very friendly and helpful. The room was gorgeous, we had a full kitchen with pots, pans, as well as a coffee pod machine to make individual cups of coffee. There was two pull out couches as well as a queen size bed so we could of easily fit more people. Our view of the mountain was great, were going to book again for this summer!

My husband and I stayed here for a weekend. Never again! We have traveled all over NY and tried a lot of different hotels. This was by far the worst ever. They don’t know the meaning of customer service. The rooms are not very well appointed. We had a suite. There were some dishes but no fridge or microwave. The manager was extremely rude when we found errors on our bill. We were back in the area the following weekend and had a very nice stay at the Marriott in Kingston. Don’t pay the money for the Katskill Mountain Club.

Hotel is pretty good, staff is nice, the pool is awesome as its outside and heated (in the winter) there was free wifi which was pretty good in my room. The rooms were good and clean except the lock on the bathroom door broke but thats it

Having read the Unilocal reviews after booking I was concerned about this hotel. Turns out I was pleasantly surprised. The room was what I expected. Good size. Jacuzzi in room. Gas fireplace. Fairly well updated. The only issue with the room I had was the tv’s were from the 70’s. But I didn’t come to watch tv. Property was well maintained. Pool is heated and outdoor with an indoor entrance. I thought the value was there for what we paid. My only reason for 4 vs 5 stars is I was not happy with the restaurant. I can’t say a lot about it because after meeting their rude hostess we decided to go elsewhere.

Staff– to be kind, Amber is not an asset to this to this hotel.
When I pay $ 375 per nite for a hotel is it unreasonable to expect:
Wifi? Not in the condos
Soap? A bar or two would be nice to wash out hands with?

The hotel has some highs and lows but unfortunately the lows out weigh the positives. Our first experience to hotel was awful being greeted by the most rude, gruff and condescending person I have ever seen at a front desk. she was down right rude, she greeted us by say Yes?, then demanded id and credit card. She thumped sign in sheet and said sign here. Not pleasant experience at all. She also talked down to us explaining long list of rules of the pool and facilities. i felt like I was being reviewed for boot camp. the kicker was that she was training someone else as well.
The room was clean and nicely decorated. The walls however were very thin and you could hear conversations from rooms on both sides. The pool was nice and the highlight to the stay, however avoid hot tubs as both had floating scum in them and not cleaned in a while.
The restaurant was nice but I think the hostess was related to front desk clerk as we seemed to have interrupter her. The waitress however made up for it as being very friendly and attentive. The restaurant was nearly empty but the hostess went to seat a family with young kids next to us, thankfully the waitress stepped in and moved them. Both parties were relieved. The food was very good and reasonable.
I would not stay here again due to the front desk greeting and the sound quality. the are better choices and this is NO high end resort it advertises.

As someone who has worked both in the service-​based industry and the HR field, I can really appreciate good personnel. The Kaatskill Mountain Club has a great staff. They are friendly, professional, and welcoming.
Coming up from NYC it is about a 3-​hour drive. Arriving through a wintry mix, hypnotizing snow, and up a dark mountain; we got to the Kaatskill mountain club at around midnight. We pulled up at the main entrance unloaded our things onto a bell cart. While unloading I noted that we were not alone in bringing beers as others that checked in also brought their cases.
The 2 bedrooms at $ 245/​night was a large living room with a Murphy bed, and a large separate room with a queen and balcony access. 2 bathrooms with 2 showers. We had 4 people but you could probably fit 6 comfortably with 2 per each bed and one on each couch. The kitchen is a full kitchen with pyrex bowls in various sizes, steel pans and pots. You are provided with plates and flatware for 4. Dish soap is provided as small bottles of palmolive — No sponge though so make sure if you’re staying to bring your own. The room did come with a dishwasher. Typical hotel bathroom amenities with towels, bath soap, shampoo, etc.
Our room faced the mountain and I noted that inside we could not hear the snow machines working at night. With no night skiing at hunter you also do not have to worry about the noise of the lifts or lights. Tons of stars in the Hunter Mtn. night sky.
NB: Despite solid exterior noise cancellation, the sounds of heavy stepping (perhaps ski/​board boots) on the floor above can be heard.
In the morning we woke and were able to buy lift tickets and ski rentals at the front desk. The front desk was friendly and helpful. There was a shuttle to take us the short trip to rental pick-​up/​base of the mountain which is a walkable distance away (about 10 minutes on foot).
There are two outdoor hot tubs facing the slopes and a heated pool where you can swim into the locker rooms. Don’t worry as from the mountain you don’t have a good line of sight to the swimming area. The hot tubs also do kick up quite a fog as the heat of the tub vs the cold of the outside creates some steam. The bottom of one of the hot tubs does have grooved metal gratings so be careful on your step in. Also, the tubs are of different temperature — one mild, one hot (not sure if they were just that setting for that evening or if it is permanent). Nice way to relax post-​ride/​ski. As others have noted, there is a small gym on the way to the tubs but nothing substantive — I can’t speak to the condition of the equipment as I did not try it. There is also a small shop which sells bathing suits and other equipment. — I believe both men and women’s suits are around $ 40, so reasonable.
Check out is at 11. Which you will be reminded about with a polite call from the front desk asking whether or not you need a bell car. If you’re going to Hunter to ski/​ride, Kaatskill Mountain Club is a great option for lodging.
PS. price breakdown following tax/​charges is around 135/​person on the two bedroom between 4 people for two nights. meaning about 67/​night per person. definitely reasonable.

I had such high hopes. It’s a great looking place and very nice staff. Walls and floors are poorly constructed. As I write this there is booming spanish music from an event that won’t end until 11pm. Front desk says there’s nothing they can do and their «quiet hours» begin at 11pm. Might have been nice to tell us that when we booked this morning so we had a choice. Really abysmal feeling to sit here with my kids watching the clock till it ends. I won’t be back. Ever.

This hotel was absolutely fantastic. I went with my mom this summer and it was a great girls’ getaway. The location is absolutely beautiful among the misty mountains of the Catskills. The condo has a very large kitchen and is completely spotless. The only complaint I can think of is that the TV’s need to be updated. However, this is very minor. The condo had every comfort we needed. The restaurant was delicious and reasonably priced– they have great thin crust pizza. Finally, the pool is quite large and all of the facilities are remarkably clean. I will return as soon as I can!

Great staff, excellent resort that has a shuttle to Hunter Mountain every 15 minutes. Def try the hot tub, which is outside and overlooks the ski lifts of hunter, but get there before 4pm as it gets crowded afterwards. Also some of the rooms come with DVD players, so bring movies because the selection of movies in the lobby are okay for kids. Can’t wait to visit this place again!

This place isn’t what the website makes it out to be. My husband wanted to plan a relaxing weekend for us and thought a resort that advertised itself as a full service place was a good choice. It’s the Disneyland of ski resorts.
I guess this may get a lot of «well, duh“‘s but don’t stay here unless you are looking for a ski weekend. We wanted to take full advantage of the ‘spa’ and veg in our suite. We suspect that the spa is actually just a front and isn’t real because we left phone messages for them before we got there and tried contacting the spa again when we got there to make appointments. There was never anyone in the spa to make an appointment with. A total disappointment.
I tried out the ‘gym’ and lets just say that the equipment is old, broken, and unusable. Also the gym is the entrance to the pool, so everyone going to the pool waltzes through the space. It’s really weird.
Our room reminded me of a hospital room with a lovely view of the parking lot. The fireplace was nice though.
Also this full service resort didn’t even have room service. The restaurant is tiny and cannot handle the capacity of the resort, so if you didn’t make reservations expect to schlep down the mountain to town to find a place to eat.
