For Goodness Cakes

I tried two of the mini cupcakes:
Red Velvet
Strawberry lemonade
As far as the red velvet goes… its meh. I’ve had better. Kind of dry actually… giving it an odd texture.
Strawberry lemonade was pretty bomb. I was splitting it with my boyfriend and almost didn’t want to give him the other half! Texture was much better… cake was moist. Flavor was excellent. I’d highly recommend the strawberry lemonade.
Just skip the red velvet.
I’m not sure what to say about the service. It wasn’t good but it wasn’t bad either. Not friendly but not unfriendly. I guess I’d just say… mediocre.
BTW, There’s a Unilocal deal as if you come between Tuesday and Thursday :)
All in all, this place is OK, but it’s not somewhere I’d be returning to if I wanted quality cupcakes. Though I may come back between Tuesday and Thursday for another strawberry lemonade cupcake :)

You have got to be kidding me! Went to see a movie with the kids and decided (since they were good) to give them a treat. This place truly sucks! The girl helping me was more interested in her friend in the store, and gave me a look like I was burdening her to help me out! The red velvet appeared to be tasty, but lacked the moistness you must have to be a decent cupcake. Dry and sorely lacking the velvety goodness that others have created.
For Goodness Sakes, this place needs an extreme makeover! If I wanted grocery store dessert, I would have got some Ho Ho’s!
Foodies — Go get some theatre candy, this place is the shits…

After the extremely poor customer service shown, this is a DEFINITE NO for me! I dont even care if the cupcake are good — their manager is rude to say the least, uneducated in the American Disabilities Act and actually asked my friend and her service dog to leave her store! WOW! In this day and age, social media is NOT your friend!
No worries– I’m sure this «sad little cupcake» store will soon be out of business — clearly read the rest of the reviews! NONE of them are good!
Shame on you — not a good humane move, nor a wise business move!

Even though I am already positive that SusieCakes has the best cupcakes, I wanted to try «For Goodness Cakes» because we were already in the area and I was craving sweets. But in short, it was a complete and utter Y-​U-​C-​K!
SERVICE:
There were two girls behind the counter and neither of them said anything when we walked in. Umm… you have no other customers and you are standing behind the counter — the least you can do is acknowledge me. I asked about the $ 1 off coupon when I checked in, and the girl had no clue what I was talking about. Anyway, she just appeared cold, total opposite of most girls serving at any cupcakery who always tend to be perky and happy.
CUPCAKE:
Eeek! They were awful! I ordered the Red Velvet and Cookies and Crème. Both were extremely dry — it is seriously like eating cardboard. My fiancé had to force the flimsy plastic fork into the cupcake to taste it. We are very very disappointed. They were tasteless, dry, and just plain bad.
PRICE:
$ 3.50 each or 2 for $ 6.
Though this is considered «cheap» compared to most gourmet cupcakes — they are definitely not worth the money.
For goodness cakes, improve the cupcake and service!
I may return — and I sure hope things would be better by then.

RUINED my birthday.
These cupcakes sucked. They tasted like soap, and they weren’t cheap. The lady told us we would be saving money buy buying two, and forgot to tell us that point was moot because we ordered a premium cupcake.
My friend and I both threw out ²⁄₃ of our cupcakes and proceeded to try not to throw up. A distant, sad memory.
For Goodness Cakes does terrible things to cupcakes.

I found myself with a 2 hour gap in my day near Bella Terra. As I wandered around I came upon this place. Knowing that it was one of the rated number 15 for OCs best cupcakes in 2011 I decided to give this place a try.
I asked what was best. The server said that they are all really good. I never like this answer. It is an answer that is not really an answer. So i asked about the vanilla buttercream cupcake. She said it is one of the sweetest cupcakes they have. I was okay with that so I ended up picking that one.
I have had sweeter. Not that an overwhelming sweetness is what I am looking for in a cupcake, I was just expecting it and it didn’t happen. I am really curious as to if the other cupcakes are sweet, if this was the sweetest.
The flavor was just okay. Frosting was a bit hard to eat (way more frosting than cake on this one (but it didn’t seem to look that way for all of them)). The cake was moist which was a good thing.
I didn’t find the flavor selection to be that great.

I wasn’t that impressed with their cupcakes. It didn’t wow me. However, I LOVED their Goldilocks Latte (white chocolate & hazelnut) with half syrup. It was excellent! I downed the first cup before finishing my Classic Cocoa cupcake, so I ordered another one! I’ll definitely come back for the latte, and perhaps order a cupcake to go with it.

I was so disappointed in this little shop :(Passed by it on the way to dinner and we hit it up afterwards. Agree with others, the display and shop are nice and the cupcakes look absolutely delicious. My friend and I tried the apple cider cupcake but the flavor was lacking. I swear it was just white/​yellow cake with the apple flavoring in the frosting. We were all waiting for a sudden burst of apple cidery goodness but never got one. My friend tried the egg nog brulee and he had the same opinion– lacking in flavor. I will be back because so many of these cakes look so delicious but here’s to hoping my opinion improves. I hope to try maple bacon or salted caramel apple. Pricing: $ 3.50, 2 for $ 6, 6 for $ 18, 12 for $ 36.
Just something funny that happened, while we were in the shop another guest walked in and asked if they had anything to sample– I just thought it was funny to ask for a sample at a gourmet cupcake shop.

Cupcakes displayed beautifully. Shop is clean and has friendly service. My friend and I shared 2 cakes in store. I also had their Turkish Latte which the description said there was cardamon, but that flavor was replaced with bitter coffee.
Pumpkin Pie– The cake itself was a little dry, but the pumpkin pie filling was delicious! American Buttercream Dream and again, the cake was dry. Buttercream was delicious! Very light and not overbearing like Sprinkles.
I also brought home Eggnog Cupcake and Caramel Apple (i think). The eggnog one has been sitting there for a few days now and still have yet to taste. I did try the Caramel Apple one and the flavor was lacking! :(

I really like the cupcake display at this shop. The cupcakes are really cute and you can tell they took the time to make each cupcake look unique. I like this place a lot better than sprinkles.

Black forest: Wasn’t a big fan of the syrup in the middle, and didn’t like the hard edges of the cupcakes. Not bad.
Pumpkin: I liked this one, it was light as well, and not too sweet.
American butter cream dream: The cake was a bit dry…
To be honest, I’m not a picky cupcake eater, and this place deserves more of a 3.5÷5
I’m pretty happy there’s a cupcake place to begin with. :)

Heard they were under new management and hired a different baker, so i came to check this place out again.
When I stepped inside and took a quick look at the cupcakes, I could already tell they were made by a different baker. They were slightly bigger (the old baker made them puny for their price) with a unique look on each and every cupcake.
I purchase the two cupcakes I always purchase at any cupcake store: the Red Velvet and the Chocolate/​chocolate (forgot what it was called). In addition, I also purchased the Cookies and Cream and the Snow White (white cake with white buttercream frosting topped with white sugar crystals). Four cupcakes for around $ 12 + tax.
— The RED VELVET tasted like any other red velvet except for a filling of chocolate in the middle. It was great they tried to be creative and do something different, but I much preferred the clump of chocolate to not be added. It takes away from the cream cheese frosting which is, in my opinion, the heavier flavor compared to the light taste of the red velvet cupcake. The chocolate included gives the cupcake two heavy flavors (the cream cheese frosting and the chocolate), which I don’t like.
— The CHOCOLATE/​CHOCOLATE cupcake (choco cake with choco frosting) would be great for any chocolate lover. It wasn’t too chocolatey, but at the same time it had enough chocolate to not be disappointing.
— The COOKIES AND CREAM cupcake was something I never really tried before. The cookies and cream frosting was very light but you were able to taste a hint of the cookies in cream. The cupcake portion was actually very fluffy and soft. It went well with the light texture of the frosting.
— The SNOW WHITE (white cake with white buttercream frosting topped with white sugar crystals) was a bit mediocre. I probably wouldn’t be getting this one again. The white cake didn’t really look like white cake since it was a light yellow color instead. Plus, the white buttercream was a little too heavy on the butter flavor. It would have tasted like pure butter if it weren’t for those sugar crystals on top.
In the end, I loved how the manager took the time to comment on the majority of reviews by Unilocaler informing us about the updates happening at the bakery (not many managers get involved with Unilocalers).
Plus, I heard there are coupons every now and then on websites such as Groupon, etc. I wouldn’t mind giving some other flavors a chance when coupons are available. But would I buy them again at regular price? Most likely not.

After dinner at Kabuki and a movie, we were walking around «Bella Terra» checking it out when I spotted For Goodness Cakes. Oh, a cupcake shop? I was compelled to check it out.
Since it was after the movie and after 10 pm, there wasn’t a lot to choose from. I chose a chocolate /​chocolate and another one that wasn’t very memorable.
Chocolate was good but not mind blowing. Frosting was light, fluffy if you will and had a decent flavor. The other one seemed to have a lot of frosting, maybe because the cake was a little on the dry side.
I thought they were OK, but nothing super special. I think I’ll have to go back earlier in the day and give them another chance.

I was super excited to see a cupcakery so close to my house, but let down oh so much upon going here. I got here a bit late so there really wasn’t that much of a selection left, so I made due with what was. The cupcake had way too much frosting on it and not nearly enough cake to match it. I’m def not planning on going back here, although if I’m around there and they have more of a selection I may give it another try.

I came across this place while having lunch next door at pizzarito. It was my first time at Bella Terra, so I had no idea what to expect. So upon entering, I first noticed the ceramic tile cupcake shaped tables. They are so cute! There are cupcakes displayed along with a quick description of what they are. At first thought I was sooo overwhelmed with all of the flavors and the cuteness of them. Eventually I narrowed my choices down to the blue velvet and hummingbird.
The guy at the counter was super nice and helpful. As for the cupcakes… well, they were a little disappointing. The blue velvet lacked flavor and was on the dry side. The hummingbird was much flavorful and moist. I took a bite of my friends coconut cupcake, which has edible glittle sprinkled on top. The coconut was okay too. The frosting on all of the cupcakes were extrememly too sweet. I will go back to try the other flavors and for the hummingbird if I’m in the area, otherwise its not worth the drive, fighting for parking just for these cupcakes.

I was mighty excited when I spotted the piña colada cupcake, a cupcake flavor I’ve been on the hunt for quite a while… then I tasted it.
The cake was dense and a bit dry, and the frosting was off. I’m not sure what it was. It was sweet and had a weird aftertaste. Like it reeked of extract or alcohol. I’m not sure, either way I dont recommend anyone find out for themselves.

I’ll start with the positives. This place is super cute and the employees are very friendly! The cupcakes look pretty appealing and there are a good variety of flavors. They gave me a $ 1 off discount for checking in on Facebook and they also give discounts for checking in on Unilocal — yay Unilocalers!
Unfortunately, the cupcakes are merely okay. The cake is a bit hard and the frosting is not nearly the whipped frosting of my dreams. In comparison to Sprinkles and Crumbs, this place is an utter disappointment. It’s still decent if you’re craving a cupcake and can’t find one anywhere else, but if I was in Bella Terra again… I’d probably just head over to See’s for some chocolate or Pinkberry for some fro yo. Sorry, but this place just isn’t all that great — I think Vons or Ralphs might even have better-​tasting, softer cupcakes.

My bf decided to get one, the peanut butter one but since it was 2 for $ 5, so i decided to get the Irish Cream. They were both good. The edges were a little hard but once you get in the middle they were good. they weren’t amazing but i would go here again, plus now i see on Unilocal if you mention the add you get $ 1 off, so $ 4 for 2!
i really want to try the thin mint cupcake ones next, which they only have on fridays and saturdays, so said the sign that was hanging on the door.
so i am definitely coming back

Great customer service! I loved the girl who was working — she was super chatty and nice.
They have the cutest cupcake mosaic tables.
As for the cupcakes, I tried both the piña colada and the red velvet. The piña colada is a coconut cupcake with pineapple and rum in the frosting. The cake was surprising — it wasn’t too coconutty yet it had the texture of something I would’ve made at home and the size too.
Now the red velvet was recommended as their most popular. It seems the case for every bakery around but I went with it. It was bigger and was deliciously moist. I definitely suggest it.
Get 2 for $ 5 or $ 3 for one. Not bad.

I went with Pina Colada cupcake and the celebration cupcake cause I read one of the review that said it was a must try for this place :)

Pina Colada cupcake:
The cupcake itself was cute to look at., frosting was yummy at first but it got pretty sweet toward my half way mark., cake was dense… Flavor wise… I don’t really taste any flavor in the cake… It felt like it was a yellow cake instead of pineapple.

Dropped by Bella Terra after dinner and saw this new cupcake store had replaced the original one. The kitsch is gone, walls are uncluttered, with a contemporary touch.
Anyway, to the cakes. The bf and I decided to get only two flavors because we were full after dinner, and surprisingly the two didn’t include the usual red velvet that we both love. I picked the midnight special and he got the peanut butter one (both for $ 5).
Mine was a little on the sweet side but the peanut butter one was delicious, the frosting was fluffy and wasn’t too «peanut buttery», which was good because I don’t usually like peanut butter & pb flavored things.
The staff there are much nicer at this new shop, and the cupcakes look more presentable. I’ll be back to try the red velvet soon.
