They are awesome! I wasn’t getting my mail so I didn’t know that I needed to turn in my mileage in for my savings, and John helped me get my savings in time. Thank you! They are always sooo helpful!

Great experience working with John and Elizabeth. I can call them anytime and they get right back to me. They have provided us with more than car insurance and walked me through investing in an IRA and getting the Life Insurance I want to protect my family. Not only do they explain everything, they came in on a SATURDAY to help me make a decision and get my policy in order.

All I can say in this first sentence is, excellence beyond expectations. Friendly, caring, smart, accurate are just a few words to discribe John and his Team, if there were room for more stars, i certainly would add the maximum amount.

I’ve been with John Markwith and State Farm for almost four years now. Within that time I’ve moved to another city and refuse to look for another agent. He and his staff are outstanding. If I call and they can’t help me at the time they are always quick to get back to me. John is actually the one who encouraged me to start planning for the future and helped me set up a IRA. I cannot speak for everyone, but as for myself I will always work with John.

I have been a customer of John’s for over thirteen years. I have always been impressed with the incredible customer service I received directly from John or the rest of his staff. I have auto, home, life, and articles policies with John.
Whenever I have sold/​purchased automobiles the transition was seamless. When I have purchased homes, I have never had any issues with my lender receiving the required documents promptly.
John has always ensured that I am adequately insured and looks for discounts and ways for me to save money. John is never a hard seller and does not try to push me into unnecessary policies or coverages. I never feel pressured to purchase new products and services.
John and his staff have always been available to answer any questions I have about my coverage, billing questions, etc. When I had a car accident, John walked me through the entire process.
I have referred others to John and all of them echo the same great satisfaction. I continue to recommend him to all of my friends and family.

I have had State Farm insurance for more than 25 years and had to file a claim for a water leak in my home. When I obtained my homeowners insurance I explicitly had asked my agent for pipe leaks to be covered under my policy. When I called for help after I had a pipe leak (my first claim EVER!) I came to find out that John had excluded this «water leak» coverage completely. Needless to say I was very disappointed because I was under the assumption that I had the coverage I wanted. This is a completely dishonest business practice!!! furthermore State Farm is clearly not interested in helping their customers. They are in the business for themselves and despite the many years I was their customer they would not work with me at all and were in fact very antagonistic and looked for ways not to help pay for any of the damage. I would not recommend this agent State Farm homeowners insurance to anyone!

Since I’ve written the original review, I encountered two moves, change in banking accounts, a minor accident, a new car and home purchase.
Every time, John personally took care of my request swiftly. The minor accident that I thought would cost me serious dough actually had no impact on my rates nor did I pay anything out of pocket.
One move was extremely difficult for me, but he made sure that the transition of the insurance from one place to another was done quickly and efficiently.
My boyfriend and I purchased a new vehicle, and even before we got the vehicle, he was ready for any changes that needed to be made immediately. It made our car buying experience easy and stress-​free.
Finally, my boyfriend and I are in process of buying a home. His quick response to get me a quote helped with the loan approval process.
John has been instrumental to all the changes in my life. He also doesn’t mind that I only like communicate mostly through email. It was extremely simple to change the payment account for my insurance needs.

Hate to be the one to bring this place’s rating down, but it needs to be done.
I’ve been working with the John Markwith agency for a few years now. While I do like having State Farm as my insurance provider, I’m not crazy about the idea that I have to work with my agent most of the time when I have issues/​problems/​concerns. This concept wouldn’t normally bother me if I felt that getting answers from the agency was a part time job, but unfortunately, over the years, this has become the nature of my relationship with the agents at John Markwith.
On numerous different occasions, I’ve had to constantly follow up with the agency to get answers. I’d submit an inquiry via email, would never receive a response in return, then I’d follow up, someone would respond letting me know they’re working on it, a week or two later I’d have to follow up again to try and get things moving… it’s a never ending process. And don’t bother calling State Farm’s 800 number because they’ll just direct you to your agent. Oh! Wait, if you do call the 800 number, they’ll call the agency for you and request that they give you a call, which WILL happen, because those request obviously hold a bit more weight.
In any case, everyone has always been extremely pleasant, but I want an insurance company that will give me answers when I want them and I don’t want to make it MY responsibility to make sure I get those answers from them. I’d like an insurance agency to make it THEIR responsibility to make sure I’m appeased.
My last back and forth about a simple billing inquiry really put a sour taste in my mouth. After reaching out to one of their agents via email multiple times to get answers, she finally responded to inform me that she had sent an email to me prior giving me the information I needed and even «copied» the sent email with time/​date/​subject stamp as proof. She then said, «I’m really confused as to why you did not receive it.» Well, unfortunately for her, she forgot to edit the subject of this supposed sent email which proves that the email was never sent, she just doctored a recent time/​date/​subject stamp to make it seem like she had sent the email before. Even if the supposed «sent email» were actually sent, I had reached out to her after that date to follow up and had received nothing in return. If she indeed sent that email, wouldn’t a «I just sent you the information… did you not receive it?» email be warranted? This disturbed me highly and is reason enough for me to look elsewhere for my insurance needs.

Insurance is one of those things you try and get the lowest price on and hope you can count on your insurance company, your agent or his office staff when and if the time comes. First off, I’ve been with State Farm for a long time because they’ve always saved me money on my rates compared to what my friends pay elsewhere. Second, my agent should be the poster boy for State Farm. John Markwith is an honest, caring family man who is driven to make sure his customers are taken care of properly not only by his staff but by the businesses he recommends to help you fix your car, home or whatever else you insure. If you’re looking for lower insurance rates and a higher level of customer service, give John a call.
