Great experience from the scheduling, to the checkin, to the appointment everything was great and I was in and out within 45 minutes on my first appointment. Great place!

Went to what I thought was an 8:30 appointment, got there at 8:22. They informed me I had an appointment at 8:15 and have to reschedule. There was no one else in the office! Needless to say it was my last visit! 7 minutes late!!!

Had an appointment today at 2:45 PM with Dr Hsu
Was reminded yesterday via voice mail by his office staff about my appointment which i really appreciated!
i was 5 minutes early, was promptly called into the examination room on time, and saw the doctor just about 5 minutes later! Everything went like clock work!
We had a nice little chat together about our private lives before the skin cancer examination and he burned off some of the unsightly so called Barnicles on my skin!
Happily he did not find anything cancerous!
My reason for seeing Dr Hsu is that i love the California sun, but the California sun does not like me!
Had already 2 mohs surgeries and are being monitored for any skin cancer problems!
i am an outdoors guy, love to jog in mile square park in the morning!
Had no issues with the office staff at all and found everybody very courteous!
Like the place and have another appointment for february 2016!

GO TO A DIFFERENT DERMATOLOGIST
I was 8 minutes late to my appointment that I scheduled nearly two months ahead and they said they couldn’t see me wanted to reschedule me next month.
Left me a voicemail to remind me of my appointment on a different number that I tried to call back but no answer. Couldn’t find directions while I was driving from work. Tried to call for directions. No answer.
Glad I’m checking on Unilocal now cause they have 3 stars means they probably suck along with their crap customer service who don’t care about patients. Will ask for a new referral to a different dermatologist. Thank you Unilocal.

Doctor’s assistant Alice is the best! She isn’t afraid to be professionally blunt with you and I can honestly say this lady has made my life better by fixing all of my skin issues and being very caring and considerate along the way. I have never had a medical experience where the doctor/​assistant was so helpful and caring. Alice goes out of her way to make sure all of my needs are met every time I see her and she has never rushed me like my other doctors always do. For my dermatology needs, I only see Alice.

I have been seeing Dr. Hsu and Shaun Davies for several years and have experienced NONE of the negative issues with the front staff described by others. Always courteous and helpful, I am surprised at the bad reviews. Dr. Hsu keeps his prices very affordable and I find everyone in the office professional and easy to deal with.

I can’t even give one star. I had my first appointment and drove 1 hour to get there and was about 10 minutes late because of morning traffic. I even called her to let her know I was 5 minutes away. The girl who answered the phone said they had to cancel my appointment and reschedule. I explained I would be there in 10 minutes.
When I arrived there was only 2 people in the waiting room. She was so mean and nasty.
Seriously the doctors are always late or behind and keep us waiting in the room in tissue paper at least 15 minutes.
Really terrible customer service. I recommend go somewhere else.
I agree with the others who reviewed this office. I should of listened to them. But I thought I would at least try.
The office staff are rude and totally unprofessional. You can never get an appointment. It literally takes 2 – 3 months for an appointment. I think the staff must be inefficient in scheduling and needs help with customer service skills.
I didn’t even get to see the Doctor so I can’t review the doctor one way or the other.
Needless to say. I did not reschedule with this office.
I called my primary care and got a different referral.
Good luck to anyone who uses this doctors office.
I’m considering sending the Dr a letter in case he has no idea about his staff.

Dr Hsu helped me resolve a problem with my skin that was a result of a procedure gone bad leaving me with dark spots on my neck. I have seen lightening in those areas after several treatments.
I highly recommend Dr. Tony Hsu, he’s an honest professional.

I let Edinger Medical Group know that substandard referrals to seed offices with rude staff is unacceptable.
What a rude front office! Dr. Hsu might be good, but you can’t get past the reception. They drive patients away.
My story:
I had an 8:15 a.m. appointment today 01÷30÷14. I admit I went to the wrong address, realizing it at 8:00 and calling immediately to let them know I would be right there. The person on the phone said, «If you are not here in 10 minutes, we will have to reschedule». I repeated that I was right down the street. Parking at 8:08, I enter the office by 8:10 where the person sitting there did not acknowledge me. Soon we were joined by another staff member that asks me my name. I sign in as she proceeded to tell me we will have to reschedule. I state my conversation with my 8:10 arrival, and she says, «It’s 8:15 and you will have to reschedule!» I pull out my iPhone and it now say 8:11 and show it to her. She repeats it’s 8:15 and I will have to reschedule! So I had to be there by 8:10 their time. She did not care. She said they have to keep their appointments on schedule. Who doesn’t appreciate that from a doctor’s office? Great policy that I wish other doctors could keep. Let me remind you that my appointment was at 8:15. The issue that I had new patient documents that needed to be filled out could be processed timely. This quiet, empty office remained so as I left. And no, I did NOT reschedule.

I see on Unilocal out of 11 Review, 10 are bad. Make it 11 out of 12. Dr. Hsu, get a clue! You could be good, but who would know. Your front office needs to be fired, but I have a feeling they are only doing what they are told. That makes you, Dr. Hsu, responsible and unprofessional!

Echoing what others have said here, the care I received from the Dr.‘s assistant (whose name I think was Shaun) was lovely. He was caring, understanding, and didn’t make getting checked for moles awkward (quite a feat!)
The office staff, however, are massively rude, short, and callous. Scheduling a simple appointment seems to always be an enormous headache, with ample helpings of condescension. My recommendation to Dr. Hsu is to fire his secretaries. My recommendation to everyone else is be prepared to face unpleasantness, or just find somewhere else to go.

Friendly staff and very responsible prices as I was a cash patient!

I was referred to Dr. Hsu by a friend, so I had high expectations walking into his office. Surprisingly, the office visit not only met but exceeded my expectations. Unlike most other doctors who only give you 10min (5min asking questions/​5min writing prescription and getting samples), he spent time thoroughly understanding the problem before diagnosing. And most importantly he did an awesome job treating my skin. In addition to Dr. Hsu being an awesome dermatologist, he also has a very nice office (it doesn’t look that nice outside but is beautiful inside).

Though my son has actually never seen Dr. Hsu, Shawn – the Physician’s Assistant there – has been wonderful and courteous to work with. He made and continues to make regular follow up calls to see if we need to change medications or dosages, or if we need to be seen again. We currently have no insurance, so they did all they could to help up arrange payment plans and find the lowest-​cost options for my son’s acne. His skin is looking great and his confidence level has increased greatly. I would, and have, recommend Dr. Hsu’s office.

I recently visited Dr. Hsu’s office to get some work done on some unsightly warts on my hands (gross, I know). I’ve had this issue for about 15 years now, and have been to 3 doctors prior to Dr. Hsu to get this issue taken care of. Each time, I have had the warts burned off (using liquid nitrogen, as is the standard), but each time they have returned.
During my visit to Dr. Hsu’s office, I was greeted by a nice secretary in the front (a Hispanic lady in her late 30’s) who had me sign in, and was pleasant. I was brought into the room in about 10 minutes, where Dr. Hsu began to look at my warts. After a quick conversation (about how long I had the problem, background, history, etc). He then began the process of burning off the warts (after being given a painkiller). Though the process was painful, I’ve been through it 3 times prior, so It wasn’t anything new. After the procedure was completed, Dr. Hsu answered a few more of my questions (in a very pleasant manner), and was scheduled for a checkup in a month.
Overall, everything went perfectly, everyone was very friendly, and the office was clean (and new looking). I would definitely recommend the office to others, and have already mentioned it to one friend, who had a good experience as well.

This was my first visit to Dr. Hsu; I was referred to him by a co-​worker. My reason for seeing him on my visit was mainly cosmetic but I have also had some skin issues due to sun exposure. In the past, my previous Dermatologist always made me feel rushed, not the case with Dr. Hsu. I felt extremely comfortable with him and was able to discuss all my goals and concerns regarding my skin. My Botox treatment results were amazing, my husband even commented on my youthful appearance. I hate needles, but Dr. Hsu walked me through it and it was painless! Between Dr. Hsu and his awesome office staff, I will definitely be referring my friends and family– RJ

My husband made an appt and when he called a few days later to check the time they said he never made it. He did. I heard him do it. So he made another appt with another doctor, having to set it weeks out again. Then, the day before the Hsu appt. would have been, they call him to confirm the appt! Dr. May be fine, but the front office needs work.

Dr Hsu is a great dermatologist… His staff is completely incompetent from his PA Alice all the way down to his secretaries. I talked to a few of his staff members to schedule an appointment and they were just down right rude… I’m a patient, my insurance pays, its not like I’m requesting your services for free! The least you could do is treat me with respect and dignity. I work for a local hospital and would never dare to treat my patients the way they have treated me.
BTW, 2 months for an appointment? Really?!?

Dr hsu was compassionate and thorough in my exam, he saw my skin condition diagnosed it quickly where other derms have missed it. I am surprised at the other reviews and would come back for sure.

Terrible customer service. I arrived for my first appointment on time but they claimed I was late because I did’t arrive 15 min early! They refused to see me and told me I had to reschedule. Hello — I have a job and can’t take time off just with a snap of my fingers. I was NOT late! I am not rescheduling and have already received a referral for a different doctor. If they need you to arrive early, they should tell you that when you make the appointment!

Extremely unhappy with this place. The office staff is horribly rude and incompetent. The staff was condescending and they even canceled an appointment on short notice after I had already gotten a sitter. Then after I went and had lab orders done per their request they gave me the wrong date so I had to take it over. I got no apologies for this either. Find another Dermotoligist.
