This was the most disappointing Hampton ever. The exterior and lobby look good, the rooms, not so much. Carpets in hall and rooms look old, ugly brown color that look worn and not clean. Our room had a very strange and unpleasant smell. It smelled as if someone had recently smoked in the room and the smell attempted to be covered with some sort of spray. When reported to the desk it was suggested that I might crack my door and prop it open to let the smell out. I think I will skip breakfast in the morning.

Stayed one night here while going to the space center. Was a good Hampton for the most part. I had a room on the 3rd floor an it def needed a repaint as children had def spent some time against the walls, no biggie, the breakfast was really good an I would highly recommend this hotel if your in the area. The downstairs store was convienent an different from other hamptons I’ve stayed at but quite well stocked.

For a Hampton off a freeway, it’s A ok in my book. Free breakfast is decadent including scrambled eggs, sausage, bagels, fresh fruit and much more. Situated amongst some of Alabama’s best golf courses and a central location for a lot of weddings. We were here and three wedding parties were staying here. Hotel is at its capacity and they still handle customer service well. Room was not cleaned until 2:30 though.

I love this place, and I’ve stayed here 3 times now. The staff has always been friendly and accommodating, the front desk service is usually great, it’s never bad. Sometimes it’s less enthusiastic, but that’s with the younger people who may work the front. The rooms are comfortable and spacious. I NEVER hear my neighbors. The scenery in Hampton Cove is relaxing and beautiful too. The only complaint/suggestion I would make is that the continental breakfast could be a little more vegetarian friendly — ie — let the eggs just be eggs, and not ham and sausage mixed with eggs. I recommend this place to all my friends who stay in Huntsville.

I visited here a few weeks ago to support a friends local business openings. It was my first time in Alabama. The rooms were spacious and nice and the entire building was overall clean and quiet. I enjoyed the pretty view of the mountains. I especially enjoyed the alcohol selection and various frozen novelties in the store downstairs. This would be a great place to stay IF the staff didn’t think they were the royalty of Alabama. When we first arrived, there were tacky and unprofessional notes taped to the bed and other parts of the room. It’s against my gypsy religion to have writing on beds. After a long drive all the way from Atlanta, Ga, my friend who was staying with me was goofing off and wrote a silly note on one of the papers. The note was promptly balled up and disposed of in the trash bin. That night I stayed downstairs in a separate room. My friend had a guest over who had good intentions but was kind of a low class Zorba. He smoked a pack of cigarettes and left the butts in a plate in the room disregarding that it was a non-smoking floor. The next two days we were treated like prisoners of war. Apparently maids in Alabama are extremely bored because the woman who cleaned our room went through our trash and opened the note. She brought it downstairs to the hotel general manager, Mrs. Hickerson. Needless to say they were not amused. The next day our friend, who had funded the accommodations for most of the people in this establishment, got a call from Mrs. Hickerson letting him know they wanted to throw everyone out. My friend and I apologized to Her Majesty for 15 minutes and with great sincerity. We thought everything was squared away. The next day we spent the day shopping and enjoying beautiful Hunstville. We returned to the hotel that evening with bags full of food and were picking out wine bottles to put on the room. As we were doing so, a shaky little man informed us that we had to pack our belongings and«exit the premises.» Mrs. Hickerson clearly didn’t take our apology seriously because our friend had to call her and straighten things out AGAIN so that we could enjoy our room in peace. The next night we decided to go back home because our room keys were constantly being turned off, we got the worst looks from the staff, and the maid had knocked on the door numerous times asking us when we were leaving. I got the hint! We felt so bad we actually cleaned our room ourselves before we left. I’ve stayed at various 5 star hotels in cities like New York, Chicago, London, LA, Atlanta, but have never been treated like a complete criminal or anything close to this. If you stay in Alabama I would avoid this hotel at all costs, or if you have to stay here, you better walk on eggshells so as not to disturb any of the important people working here. The customer is definitely not always right here! Take care and good luck
