I am SO enjoying my stay here! We are celebrating our 14^th Wedding Anniversary and my Moms 81^st birthday:)
The staff is super friendly and helpful!
The rooms are very, very nice. Any concerns… resolved IMMEDIATELY! They were attentive and overly accommodating:)
I was overwhelmingly grateful to see that there was a separate tub and shower in the bathroom! It absolutely felt like ‘home away from home’.

I was completely wowed over this resort. My husband and I checked into this resort for one night. The price was perfect and the room was very nice and clean. This place is so perfect you don’t have to leave. So many restaurants and shopping near by. We had a blast here. I recommend for anyone to stay here. Very professional staff here. I can’t wait to come back. I can’t wait to become a spg member

First Class! Awesome place to stay in Huntsville! Located close to everything!

To follow up on my previous update, I tried to redeem the complimentary stay offer that my wife and I were given following our negative experience, but the representative I spoke to told me that the voucher was not valid. We’re done with this place.

From the outside the Huntsville Westin seems as great as other locations but once your there you realize that far from the case. I regret having had my wedding there.
1) Had negotiated my wedding package with director of sales everything thing was set contract signed. Then 45 days till wedding the hotel was sold to new management company Crescent group. While the director of sales was on grievance leave for his mother’s passing they fired him. I was assured everything would be fine. Go in for food tasting and am served wrong menu. When I point it out and give them the menu that had been agreed upon am told they won’t honor it and the new director wanted to cancel my wedding. After 3 days of stress and showing all paperwork got contract fixed. 45 days away no time to plan another wedding venue.
2)Food was just OK not to the caliber expected. Had guests plus myself receive braised short ribs that were all fat. They did do a great job with the appetizers only.
3)Ordered a microphone was told $ 125 for it but then additional 9% tax understandable the 22% gratuity for a microphone was unacceptable plus it didn’t even work!
4)Was told everything was paid. Wedding was December 13^th. Now January 7^th they charged my credit card $ 219 without any notice. No phone call. Nothing from them. Still waiting for money to returned.
5) Spend so much on a wedding there and the complimentary Honeymoon suite was a joke by Westin standards. Carpet ripped up areas. Shower grout looked molded in areas. Shower head was rusted. Found hair in sink area. Not the usual comfortable beds could actually feel the springs. And our wedding night view was of the roof of a units. Top it off with a $ 5 bottle of «champagne «and soggy chocolate covered strawberries.
Would have preferred option to pay for suite upgrade.
Overall the Westin Huntsville and Cresent Hospitality left me with bad memories for my wedding experience.

Great hotel. Probably the nicest in Huntsville. Rooms are great. Pool and hottub are nice. Location is fine.
Wifi sucks bad. Like terrible. I got disconnected daily.
The little snack and whatever area by the front desk is a joke.

I was in town on business a month ago, and had the pleasure of staying at the Westin Huntsville. From the moment I walked in the door, I felt like I was in a hotel that would have cost 4X as much. This place was really the bargain!
I’m not sure what the person below me is talking about when it comes to the internet. I had to work from my room on the last day of my stay, and it was super fast wireless. And I work for an internet-​intensive company. It was great.
The staff was awesome, very friendly, and helpful. All of the services we top notch, and the food and drink selection was great, and the breakfast buffet was good, $ 16 maybe a little on the high side, but you can certainly get a good breakfast to start your day.
Checking in and out was super easy (I ever got a later check out for free). Bottom line? The next time I got to Huntsville, I’m staying here!

UNBEARABLY SLOW INTERNET. If you still live in the stone ages, or want to «take a break» from being online, then this hotel is for you, because the building is apparently still on dial-​up from the 1990s. Want to have an excuse to get zero work done? What about not returning family emails? Westin is for you — no way you’re accomplishing anything that requires a signal while you’re staying here!
When you pay $ 100+ PER NIGHT for a room, you expect there to be some semblance of connectivity to a world outside of it. I might as well have bought a condo and paid for my own internet connection at this price.
This review may seem harsh, but have you TRIED not having internet? Or even worse, internet that’s just BARELY fast enough to work, but slow enough that it’s incredibly painful? You will know my pain. You will understand why I must give Westin one star. You should avoid this hotel at all costs if you want to use Internet, plain and simple.

My fiancée has family in this city so we come to this hotel pretty often when we visit them. I’d say we have been here maybe 4 or 5 times and typically stay two nights.
Pros: rooms seem very clean, bed is very comfortable, room service food is tasty
Cons: something always seems to be going on here and the people at the front desk are often rude or unhelpful. For example, last time we stayed, a fire alarm went off early in the morning and we had to evacuate on a Sunday morning. That really sucked. I was scared awake! Terrible way to start the day. Apparently their kitchen had some kind of issue and started the fire alarm. An apology would have been nice rather than some guy yelling at us to go back inside and he could not understand why we bothered to evacuate.
Today, we pull up and there are 3 police cars, one fire truck, and one ambulance parked in the front of the entrance. Definitely a concern. Other people seemed to be getting in and out sans problem so we walked in. I asked the lady at the front desk what was happening outside and whether things were safe. She just answers me with «I don’t know. Checking in?» Seriously?! I understand if you can’t discuss details of what happened but at least phrase things nicely like «I cannot discuss the specifics but things are fine and the police are leaving now.»
Three visits ago, the room next to us was extremely loud around midnight. We called the front desk and they said they’d send someone to check but we never saw anyone come down the hallway. We called back 20 minutes later and finally someone came to ask them to be quiet. We saw the next day that there were at least 8 people staying in that room.
I feel like something weird is always going on here and I don’t trust the front desk people to be helpful if I need something. I don’t know what other hotels this city has to offer but I can guarantee you we will start staying somewhere else from now on.

SPG Platinum member. Upgraded to a suite using suite night rewards; hotel brought a roll away into the sitting room with no issues. Room itself was nice and common areas were fine. My issue here was with the property itself and then its service.
This hotel does not have a club lounge — the first time I’ve seen a newly constructed Starwood property not have a lounge. According to the hotel staff the hotel is still under construction and a lounge would be added later — but the hotel has been open for several years. No alternative option available for SPG gold/​platinum members. I don’t understand why Starwood corporate allows that to fly.
Second issue was service. Westin market to a wellness market, including run concierges, etc. Collateral in the hotel talks about run concierge, jogging route maps, etc. I needed to get 10 miles in for a training run so went downstairs to the front desk & asked for a course map. Was given a copy of the mall directory (the hotel is in a high end outdoor mall) and told the running course was to run around the mall. Was treated rudely by front desk staff when I questioned that this was all of the information that they had. Spoke to a front desk manager who tried to be helpful but didn’t have any additional information.
Struck out on my own and figured out there was actually a half marathon being run that same day from the mall parking lot — so there’s definitely a good running route available from the hotel. Not sure why hotel management hadn’t taken 10 minutes to document that course during the several years they are open and have it readily available to their customers (as their in room collateral indicates that they do).
Will not return to this Starwood property.

While visiting in Huntsville for work, we stayed at the westin for two nights. It was great, everything was clean & nicely taken care of. The restroom was large, luxurious, and had a great shower head which was also detachable & mobile too. I slept like a baby, the bed was comfy & had multiple pillows available. The gym was large for a hotel, had all the necessary things for chest day exercises.
Overall, I highly recommend this hotel while visiting the area.

I stayed here for a conference a couple weeks ago. When I first pulled up around 6pm, in a rush to meet the shuttle, and there was NO ONE out front at the valet stand. I waited for 15 minutes or so before I finally just went outside to get someone. Then, still in a rush, I went to the front desk to check-​in and had to wait even longer – not because there was a line (I was the only person there) but because the front desk girl was chatting on a personal call. I finally got my key, rushed to my room, threw my things down and went back to the lobby to catch the shuttle.
After the opening party, I arrived back to my room to find it infested with beetles. I called to ask for a room change; there were no available rooms in that huge hotel. I decided to take a shower instead but there were clumps of black hair in my bathroom; it did not appear to have been cleaned after the last guests. I tried to go to sleep instead but there was a party – which I initially thought was in the room beside me but nope, it was DOWNSTAIRS in the lobby – and all of the noise traveled up through the vents into my room. I have never been in a hotel where you could hear everything else going on from other floors via the vents! It was crazy – and seeing as it was 11pm and I’d been up for 20 hours at that point having flown in from Seattle, I wasn’t having any of it. I called again and asked for a new room; again, they told me they were sold out. Well, could you get me a room at another hotel? Nope, the city is sold out, they told me. (I called the Hampton across the street and found out indeed, that was not true.)
In the end, I didn’t even stay overnight and checked out at nearly midnight and drove the two hours home in the pouring rain rather than be kept awake by a party on another floor and beetles dive-​bombing my head. So yeah, would NOT recommend this place at all. Management needs some schooling on how to properly run a hotel!

This rating is for «The Sage Grille». Go there for breakfast! Great buffet + omelette station, hot/​cold cereal, bagles/​toast, and who else would offer agave juice in lieu of sugar?! Great food, you should eat here even if you are not staying at the hotel!

Nice business hotel situated at the Huntsville Mall Bridge. Very convenient for a number of activities in the area. The rooms are modern and has all the amenities. Overall a great business hotel

This hotel is situated on the Huntsville Mall Bridge area with views of the water and shopping. It is a great hotel with plenty of nice amenities and a decent restaurant.
The pool features indoor and outdoor access with heat controls located both inside the enclosed pool area & on the outside walls-​you have to look for it. It would take some time to get the pool heated though and it is available if you are cold natured.
The hot tub is very nice and features wheelchair access if you require that. In additon, there is a nice gym adjacent to the pool areas.
The lounge is a great place to enjoy cocktails or a glass of wine just adjacent to the pool.
The best thing about this hotel is the location, the heavenly beds, and the golf shopping in within few steps outside.
Another great feature here is that there is a full size theatre cinema with a lounge, vip movie seating, and a restaurant as well. One note on the VIP cinema-​it features limited seating and movie selection. Sometimes you can hear street performers during the day and evening hours.
The bed is simply amazing and once you get into it you do not want to leave or get up. This beds comes with multiple pillows to suit your needs and comfort level.
Awesome place with one drawback-​parking here is limited and you may need to park further than usual. The experience here is wonderful from beginning to end.
Overall this place is a gem for it’s location, proximity to shopping, and romantic feel around the area.

I recently stayed at The Westin Huntsville while attending a conference for work. Coming from Hawaii, you can say that I wasn’t really looking forward to being 1000’s of miles away from home. I’ll lay out the pro’s and con’s.
Pro’s:
— BEAUTIFUL Hotel
— AWESOME room (Heavenly Bed and Shower!)
— VERY NICE and FRIENDLY front desk staff
— Hotel is at the end of of a mall (seriously can it get any better than that?!)
— A number of food places to choose from
— Sage Grille (in the hotel) was pretty good
— They offer a «green policy». $ 5 for every night you go without having your room cleaned. Let’s just say after the week was over, I enjoyed a pretty much free meal from the hotel.
— BEAUTIFUL Landscaping
— Movie Theater right next door (although I didn’t make use of it, but still convenient)
— 10 minutes from the airport
Con’s:
— $ 9.95 for wifi (didn’t use it, but I would think it should be free since the cost of the room per night is not really cheap)
Overall, I’d stay here again if I ever needed to come back to Alabama (although I’m pretty positive that won’t happen again).

Very clean property. Great customer services. Terrible food (Sage Grill), overpriced, inconsistent…
The management needs to back off on cutting costs. The fridge in the room don’t work. Internet Bandwidth needs to be fixed/​increased. This is 2013!!! Apparently, coffee services in the lobby stops at 8am!!!
Is this Westin?

I recently stayed here for a work trip for three nights. It’s been a while since I’ve stayed at a hotel all by myself (without husband and child in tow)! While I missed them dearly, it was a nice change of pace.
I kind of smirked when I saw the trademarked «heavenly» bed and «heavenly» shower marketing bits… but I must say these were apt descriptions and I enjoyed every minute taking advantage of both. I thought their «wake up» cup for the coffee was also cute, and exactly what I needed first thing in the morning. I did miss the old school vending machines on the floors (I guess that’s not posh enough for this hotel). Instead it was $ 3.00 in the gift shop for soda. Only did that once LOL.
I found myself in need of a few things during my stay and took advantage of the Bridge Street Mall. I used to live in Huntsville many years ago, and I can see how this is a nice addition to what’s available for both visitors and residents. I really liked the layout of the outdoor mall and there was lots of foot traffic and people watching. Most of the restaurants had outdoor seating and the temperature was perfect for a drink on the patio.
Back to the hotel… I found the staff to be exceptional and would definitely stay there again. If this is what I can expect from the Westin/​Entertainment district in downtown Birmingham, then we are in for a treat.

My husband and I recently stayed here for a night to celebrate our anniversary. I had heard good things about this hotel, and we had an overall decent experience. The hotel itself was clean and the staff were very friendly and swift. We forgot toothpaste and I called down to the service desk asking to be brought some. I didn’t expect anyone to show up to our door for quite some time, but sure enough a staff member appeared very quickly!
Two very slight issues: 1) Every surface in our room had a noticeable layer of dust. It was obvious that no one had stayed in this particular room for quite awhile, and that it had not been cleaned and/​or dusted for long time. 2) The magnetic strip on the shower door just wasn’t strong enough. I had to use all of my strength to get the thing to actually close and not leak.
Overall, I would stay here again and recommend it to out of town guests.

I want to give this hotel 4 stars, but I just can’t.
I love Starwood hotels. I love them so much that according my Starwood account, I’ve stayed 210 nights in their hotels around the world since 2009. True story.
They’ve all been great, including this one. Unfortunately I have to give the Westin Huntsville 3 stars because of the little things. I’ll start with the little things.
First, the Internet. They charge $ 10/​day for Internet. Being a Starwood Platinum member, I don’t pay, but damn it would be a ripoff if I did. I should be able to use the Internet at the hotel as I would at home. But the Westin limits your bandwidth to 512k download and 256k upload. This is SLOW. You can’t watch Hulu, so don’t even try. Hell, don’t even try multitasking with different websites. This needs to change.
The second thing that brings this property down to three stars is the housekeeping service. Why? Inconsistent. The complementary tea/​coffee center wasn’t restocked for two days in a row, they missed restocking the complimentary water bottles on multiple days, and the melted water that used to be ice is still sitting in the ice bucket after 4 days. Additionally, the floors in the bathroom could be cleaner.
Without these two issues, this is a 4-​star property. The rooms are comfortable, modern, and clean. The Westin bed is legen – wait for it – dary. Legendary. Every staff member I have encountered has been superb, the room service prices are very reasonable, especially for room service, and every single staff member I have interacted with has been stellar.
Fix the small details and get another star!
