It’s adorable, smells amazing inside, and is filled wall to wall with fantastic decorations and eclectic little treasures.
I don’t know about you, but I absolutely love to visit gift and home décor shops during the holiday season. They’re always so warm and inviting, and who doesn’t need a darling stuffed turkey decoration or a shimmering pumpkin candle-​holder? I’m always on the hunt for simple gems that make my evolving home feel homier, and that’s why I’m always in need of a place like Connie’s!
Connie’s used to be located on Glenview (for many, many moons), and thankfully they didn’t move too far! You’ll find holiday décor, candles, figurines, coasters, fancy bookmarks, super-​sparkly crosses, local university paraphernalia, a small assortment of women’s clothing/​shoes (think older woman and bedazzled pieces), stuffed animals, and even some jams, jellies, and hot-​drink mixes. I bought some fabulous apple cider mix that is delicious, and you can use it to sprinkle on fruit or season your pork/​chicken. Who’da thunk? Sometimes Connie’s has samples out of a specific tea, cider, or coffee their selling. Brilliant. I love to dig through this little shop with a hot glass in my hand!
