Revolution Moving And Storage

Supposed to show up at 2 PM, showed up at 5PM, started work at 6PM.
Didn’t finish until 3:30 AM.
Apparently the time the John told me that they would be there ready to start packing was the time that they were renting the truck, in Baltimore, on a Friday.
Took at least 3 hours of breaks. I don’t mind breaks at all, I know it’s hard work, but all 3 disappearing at the same time for 20+ minutes per hour is excessive.
Disappeared multiple times, I tracked them down 3 times, as did my Wife.
Loud: We were moving out of a condo on the fourth floor, and they were yelling down the stairs back and forth all night.
Moved at most 30% of my belongings, had to hire another moving company to finish the job.
Was quoted 7 hours for 3 movers and 1 26 foot truck to pack and move a 2 bedroom condo, took 9.5 to move at most 30%, was charged for 12.
Movers were on the phone the entire time on personal calls. The phone never quit ringing.
DVD’s were moved, but no TV was moved.
It was getting too late, and the movers were obviously tired, so we decided to just grab the essentials, and the big stuff, and we would move the rest ourselves.
Didn’t move the essentials, so we woke up without silverware, plates and most other essentials.
Didn’t touch our bedroom as all, I pulled the mattress and box springs out of the condo and told them it was going to the truck, apparently a bed is not deemed essential?
Glad I didn’t tip them, and disappointed in myself for buying them dinner.
I would say this is due to a Management failure, especially since every time there’s a bad review, this thumbtack profile is removed and resubmitted so the reviews go away and a fake review is posted with 5 stars.

Shady business! Do Not Hire!!! They were late! Paid for extra time that wasn’t working! Made me pay in the middle. Broke vases, two dressers, and a 60 inch Samsung flat screen. No apology refuses pay to get it fixed or to show me the contract! Sent me a picture of a guy laughing when I asked for a copy of the contract via text. Charley is his name he also does another moving business in the name of progressive moving and storage! DO NOT HIRE!

DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE! I used them back in July and I am honestly still so sickened at how terrible of an experience this was. It seemed like the reviews were decent back then and it seems like all of the recent ones describe the exact experience I had. They are a pathetic excuse for a company and its disgusting how they are basically scamming people out of their money. If I had more time on my hands I would have taken these rude, unprofessional, down right nasty people to court for the awful day they caused me, but more importantly for the rest of the people that I know they are going to do the same to.

I waited a long time to allow John to make good on this job. But it has gone nowhere for 3 months.
1) Job: Guys were incredibly unprofessional. 3 guys for them meant 2 guys moving, 1 guy standing around doing nothing in the truck waiting for furniture to arrive. I provided shrink wrap and 5 rolls of packaging tape. 300 yards of my shrink wrap was used on 3 pieces of furniture. 5 rolls of tape were used on 1 room of furniture (sofa, console, coffee table, recliner). Thats a tremendous waste and honestly felt like they were trying to just use it up. Wrapping the couch with 150 yards of packaging tape already wrapped with a movers blanket does not make it more protected (more on this later)
As they were moving and packing, I was working on other parts of the house and packing. 1 ½ hours in, I noticed it was suddenly quiet. I go upstairs to find the 2 guys taking dumps in two bathrooms on the 3^rd floor. I can hear them playing on their phones. Mind you the house has already been cleaned readying for move out. They never asked (I was in the house) and they claimed to their employer it was a 5 minute dump vs the 15 minutes they spent leaving streaks in the bowl (gross but accurate)
3 hours later they finished loading and packing the 2 rooms I told them to pack. (at least 5 smoke breaks and a 15 poop break)… 3 hours to pack: sofa, console table, sofa table, coffee table, bed, 3 dressers, and a recliner. thats ridiculously slow. My wife and I could have packed faster than them.
They made me sign a bunch of waivers accepting they are not responsible. Some notables were not being liable for damaged pressed wood furniture (ikea). Upon filling that out, they immediately loaded 2 dressers with no moving blanket protection and immediately broke two dressers. (no receipt of forms or receipt for work)
30 minutes to drive/​stop for snacks (I followed them without them knowing) to my new house 4 miles away.
Then, they want me to pay in full before they unload the truck. Guess what, unpacking and unloading took them 20 minutes. Odd that 3 hours of packing takes 20 minutes to unload when they’re in a hurry to finish.
2) John M. During the move, I called him and complained about them taking dumps without permission in my house. Retouching this subject, the master bathroom and guest bathroom are not where people I hire take craps without getting permission. This is NOT your house. He acknowledged this is not right but was reluctant to credit any money for the amount of time spend relieving and smoking. He credited me 30 minutes. After they unloaded, I noticed they chipped 2 pieces of furniture so I contacted John. Predominately to get credited for the damage and for receipts of the forms I filled out. I called multiple times, he acknowledged it each time, but never sent a receipt or credited me for the damage.
DO NOT EVER HIRE THESE PEOPLE. They weren’t even the cheapest. Their lack of professionalism from workers to owner is unparalleled. You will walk away wondering if you actually got what you paid for based on their work ethic, speed, AND exorbitant fees for materials. (when they ran out of shrink wrap from wrapping the softest thing in my living room (couch) they said its $ 25 to wrap each piece.

Currently at the storage unit 3 hours later. Not my situation, but my friends. But terrible communication and after an initial confirmation of time and place… The movers wasted 3 hours of our time. Jon runs a terrible dishonest service (at best). Avoid like the plague.

TERRIBLE customer service and horrible service! We were scheduled to move our 2 bedroom house at 9 am and the movers showed up at 11am. Not a great start to the day! The 2 movers who showed up were slow and were in no hurry, probably because they were paid hourly! What should have taken 4 hours to move, took 6 ½ hours! They caused massive damage to our furiture and brand new house! I am OK with a few nicks and scuffs, but they took gouges and removed plaster with their carelessness. I called to voice a complaint and was told too bad! I have called daily to ask for a copy of my agreement and have been ignored. I would NEVER use this company again and highly recommend you spend a few more bucks and go with someone more professional.

This place is THE WORST.
Basically all the other one star reviews have it right. They are rude and unprofessional.
We confirmed the day before that they would be here at 9:00am. We called at 10:30 and John asked, «Is that today?» He promised someone would here before 12:00pm.
At 12:15pm he said someone talked to us and we agreed to move it back to 4:00pm. No one ever talked to us about that. We would never have agreed to it. Our kids are in day care we can’t do the move at 4:00pm.
When we spoke to John next he said they would be there by 5:00pm.
We wanted to know how they would make this right. They offered an apology. An apology is worthless. We already took off work and paid for daycare, an apology is worthless. He wouldn’t offer a discount. He said we could cancel and give up our deposit.
In response to my demands that he fix it he asked me if I was angry because I have a feminine voice. No, I’ve come to terms with that. I’m angry because this guy didn’t live up to his commitment and was rude about it.
DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY. You’ll regret it.
We have other movers on the way.

If there was a no star rating that would be my rating. We were on a tight schedule for moving because we needed to be out of our rental and we bought a new home. I called and got a great quote from «John», who said it was a special they were running, 3 guys and a 26 ft. Truck for $ 75/​hr + $ 65 fuel fee. Great deal right? Wrong! I was told the lovers would arrive between 9−10am. They arrived at 1:30pm. I was told I would have the «big truck» (26ft), NOPE! I got the 16ft truck. John tells me that because of the inconvenience he would not charge me for the extra trips it took to load and unload.
The workers were nice guys, who obviously we’re not supported by management. They were nice, funny but not professional movers. They worked very hard and I rewarded their hard work, however, they were unskilled as to how to move furniture in tight spaces and on several occasions, I had to direct and even assist with moving pieces. My father-​in-​law also helped in many aspects of telling them how to move. He even nicknamed the crew, «the keystone cops». What should have been a 5 – 6 hour adventure became a 12 hour nightmare. Yes, you did not read wrong, 12 hours. 1:30pm to 1:30am. Oh, by the way, I only live 8 miles from the point of origin to the destination. 14 minutes with stop lights. As it was time for me to sign and pay, I was then informed because I was paying by Credit Card, that there was a 4% fee and that I was being charged 13 hours, 1 hour for the travel time it took for them to get there.
Bottom line is that I wish the guys who moved us well and hope they find a job where they are treated better, but I would HIGHLY NOT RECOMMEND this company to move anyone’s worst enemy. John did consent to removing 1 hour from the total bill. What a guy! 1hour for the torture of moving for 12 hours. Thanks John, you’re a real saint!

My experience with this company was a complete disaster. I confirmed my move with the owner John twice, including the night before the move. They were supposed to arrive at my apartment between 1 and 2 pm. I called John when no one showed up and he said he would check into it and get back to me. When he didn’t call me back I called him again, at which point he told me they were running late. Eventually he put me directly in touch with the movers, who assured me they would arrive by 4:30. At 5 I tried getting in touch with both them and John, but no one answered their phones. When the movers finally called me back, they said they thought they could make it by 6:30, but this was not accounting for DC traffic. I had lost my building’s window of time to move by then so I told them to forget it and refund my money.
Being strung along like this meant I spent half the day waiting with my packed belongings, unable to do anything else. The communication from this company was terrible at best and probably disingenuous on top of that. I would strongly discourage anyone from using this company.

Very good service. Marco and Garry are very nice and did a good job with wrapping the furniture, loading and unloading. I had also good experience talking to John, who coordinated the movers. Good job, highly recommended.

They are unprofessional and rude! You call and they don’t even answer as a business, then they give you some bs lies about insurance and licenses. THE DOT STATES YOU NEED A LICENSE FOR LOCAL MOVES IN MARYLAND! I called for my daughter who needs to move some things that are very expensive and he couldn’t give me a straight answer for the license. Yet fully wants to move the items into their warehouse? Yet couldn’t tell me where this warehouse is!!! WTH!!! I hung up and said no thank you and he then proceeds to text me that they are too full and that he doesn’t need a license. HOW rude must you be! Maybe if you operated properly you wouldn’t be so defensive! I am filing a complaint with the BBB and DOT. Plus I read their rip off report and there reviews on other websites. wow is all I can say… monkey business is what they are doing. AND BEFORE THE OWNER SAYS I WORK FOR SOMEONE I CAN ASSURE YOU I HAVE A MUCH BETTER JOB THAN MOVING FURNITURE !

The moving took place on December 23, 2014 with fusion of professionalism and cost effective solution. They did not cost much and got my move done within allotted time-​frame with lots of careful handling of my furniture and various other items. They promised to bring their own boxes and blankets to wrap around my furniture for free. I did not have to cough a lot of money on packing materials. Revolution Moving and Storage is a lifesaver for those who feel that their move is overwhelming. In the end, they did perform really well and got the job done for me with a lot less hassle.
