I like to buy fresh corn and flour tortillas here. They make them daily and are warm when you buy them. Once in a while, I buy produce deals and can’t complain about quality. Good market with good service.

The tamales were old and all dried out. A lot of vagrants hang in the parking lot. It makes me fell drty and insafe

I really enjoy having La Posta so close to our condo. The 10 dollar taco meals are a steal. Lines can be long and the checkout a bit slow. Have noticed expired goods on the shelves. But most else seems to have a good enough turnover to avoid this issue. Dairy is a bit overpriced

I like the rotisserie chicken and fish ceviche. Their rib eye steaks were pretty good too. La Posta isn’t the main place I shop for groceries but it is convenient if I’ve forgotten an ingredient or two. Their customer service is excellent!

Twice I have bought meat here and by the second day of purchase, it goes bad. This goes to show that their meat is not fresh. Consumers beware.

Excellent selection. Great meat counter and competitive pricing. I like it! The meat guy suggested spicy sausage, it was great! I also tried the marinated carne asada. It was so flavorful and tender!

Although this location is a little far from home, I went here with one of my friend’s. I didn’t know what to expect when I entered this market. I was impressed of how inexpensive some of their cuts of meats are, compared to other markets. It’s a good place to get some steaks and veggies for a last minute BBQ party. I would like to try other cuts of meats next time and maybe some of their hot meals.

The selection of fresh fruits and veggies was great, as were the prices, but we were a little disappointed in the roast chicken. It was good, but not great. After reading some reviews here, my expectations may have been too high.

I’ve been here before for ready marinated carne asada meat. I made street tacos at home and it was extremely delicious. I also bought a container of their pico de gallo but I wasn’t a fan. It was just a tad too bland for me and lacked the«fresh» taste– by that I mean it lacked the crisp because the tomatoes seemed really mooshy and no lemon??? And no garlic — I need garlic. I tried to doctor it up but meh I just need to remember not to be lazy lol. They also have a huge tub of ceviche which my sister in law got, apparently my brother in law loves it. I am on my way today to buy 2/$ 100 meat packages for us and my in laws. It’s freezer stock time! I will review more later… Okay so I got meat package #11 and my SIL got #9 plus she added 4/1# pkgs of bacon ends and I got 2# of carne asada! Omg it’s gonna be bbq T bone night!!! Plus 4# total ceviche too! Great spot for produce & Mexican groceries. I got these cute lil avocados 4/$ 1 and huge huge mangoes $ 1.49 each! Sweet deal– literally! I LOVE their customer service. They smile, they are super helpful, thorough at the meat counter, the hot food/deli counter and the register! Definitely love this place! Parking is small but decent, people move in and out quick so watch ur bumper.

This is a pretty strong little market– Excellent selection of fresh goodies and very reasonably priced meats. The staff are universally friendly, although you may want to be bilingual here. Great dry goods prices and a good selection of tasty south of the border candies. The tortillas are quite good, and I recommend some of the weekday meal deals when you’re feeling a bit tired and not up to cooking the little monsters dinner. Recommended.

Been here a few times. It’s a small Hispanic market with regular produce & sell carnitas meals with rice & beans. It’s affordable & some stuff are cheap. The only negative is the parking lot. It’s small & come before the rush hour people get here. IB is a small community so most of the businesses here are small. I also heard they sell fruit juices here too!

This is a great little market. The butcher shop is one of my favorites all around. Their seasoned beef and chicken make excellent tacos when grilled. We also get the spicy Portuguese sausages or T-Bone steaks for the grill. We also love their fresh pico de gallo, and delicious guacamole. The ceviche is another favorite that couples well with their homemade tortilla chips. I don’t really venture beyond their meat department and prepared foods counter because it is very small market. But even when they are busy, they are able to deal with the crowds. You don’t have to wait long to check out.

We are a family of 4 visiting from out of town and were looking for a grocery store at which to get something to drink. Our navigation system led us here. La Posta may be small but it’s much more than a grocery store! We grabbed a few tamales(pork and chicken) to take with us to the beach. They were only $ 1 ea after all. After our beach adventure we dove into the tamales and were in heaven. We immediately turned our car back toward LaPosta to get their advertized deal: 2 roast chickens(or 2# carnitas), 1 dozen homemade tortillas, 1 pint of fresh, chunky salsa, a big tub each of rice and beans and 2 liters of soda for $ 16.99. How can you beat that? Everything was absolutely delicious, including the chile relleno I just couldn’t resist.. A couple days later we visited Imperial Beach again and repeated our purchase. We substituted 1 pound carnitas for one of the chickens. No problem. Thank you, La Posta, for helping make our stay in San Diego economical and delicious. PS– Everyone who helped us was super-friendly and helpful.

Was this for real??? I have never experienced flour tortillas so perfect in my life! Never again will I buy them from the rack of prepackaged crap!!! They are not even the same product! These flour tortillas were steaming hot when i bought them and then we slathered them with butter and ate them with total joy flooding over our souls! Too bad I am on vacation… I will spend every waking hour trying to find out a duplicate recipe so that I can try and create these gems at home! This market ROCKS!

Best market to get meat at and food! This place is amazing, with amazing prices. I really love this their meat, which is perfect to make bbq and tacos/burritos. It’s a small market but it has tons of stuff.

What can I say about this place that hasn’t been said in the other reviews. It’s a small market. ¼ produce ¼ meat dept ¼ grocery ¼ hot food counter 100% tiny Only 1 shopping cart per aisle please. Otherwise you’ll get weird looks from the person coming the opposite way. Some of the grocery items are a bit overpriced, which is expected. This isn’t a huge grocery store. It’s more of a convenience store. However, the marinated, boneless chicken leg meat in the meat dept. is to die for. Try the chiles rellenos in their hot food dept. Service is nice. Smiles all around. I’ve been coming here for over 8 years now and I’ve gotten to know the staff old and new. As long as I live in IB, I’ll keep coming back for more La Posta. :-)

Very expensive. The one guy behind the counter near the liquor is rude, and ignores people. It stinks in there… always having to hold my nose. They have an area to get smoothies and slushys and other things… I mention this because the smoothies are wonderful, especially the coconut smoothie, but they have a menu for slushy’s and yet they dont serve them… this is very disappointing cause my son always wants one, but cant have… if you dont serve them, then why have a menu up for them? The isles are very stuffy, you cant move around too much. They do have a taco area, I havent tried it but some stuff does look good, especially the different kind’s of salsa… so if it wasnt so crowded, a rude man that works in the liquor area, and the nasty smell there… it would be an okay place to quick shop… Okay went there again today, and so very disappointed! Okay as i mentioned above about the coconut smoothies… well went there today to get one, only to be told they dont make them anymore… What??? So then they have a sign there for vanilla ice cream… they dont do that anymore… What??? You have a sign but you dont serve it? You have vanilla ice cream but you cant put ice cream in a cup and serve it? Oooooh and then we ask if they had chocolate shakes… she said she couldnt do that either, but then decided she would try… while another customer asked for a vanilla one… she didnt know how to make a shake, we had to tell her… Seriously? They need to update their signs and advertisements if they arent going to make certain things… cause now Im going to miss the coconut smoothie!!!

I have mixed feelings about this Market: First let me start with the good: their fresh Pan Dulces are delicious! The location is very convenient. Their Dinner packages are good and affordable. Now the Bad: Their vegetables and fruit are not that great. I often buy meat and poultry here which at times I am left questioning whether is good or bad(specially the chicken). The frozen veggies are horrible(over frozen). Finally the cashiers(my pet peeve) have bad, bad customer service skills! If I was the manager of this store I would definitely touch up on some customer service training. Overall the store itself is not too bad, if I’m in a rush I come here if I am not in a rush I would drive to either Vons or North Gate.
