We provide personalized professional veterinary care, in a family like atmosphere– where our clients are our friends. Digital radiology, dental Radiology, ultrasound equipment, state of the art dental machines and top line anesthetic equipment are among the latest additions to our new full service veterinary hospital. We provide a full array of surgical services, internal medicine and critical care, dental cleaning and dental surgery and we see EXOTIC Animals including ferrets. We can also take OFA radiographs of most dogs without anesthesia.

Our goal is to help you make educated and informed choices while providing compassionate quality veterinary care.

History

Established in 2013.

Dr. Diedre Puaoi bought Seacoast Pet Clinic in January of 2013 from Dr. Aufderheide.

After one visit you will see that Dr. Dee is very passionate and committed to her role as a pet healthcare provider. She strives to provide the high quality care at affordable prices. She is determined to be the type of veterinarian she would want for her own pets. After all, pets are family too! Simply stated, she loves animals. Dr. Dee is currently the proud owner of a dog, 4 cats, a blue tongue skink, a bird and fish.

Dr. Puaoi (Dr. Dee) received her veterinary degree from a Joint program between Oregon and Washington State Universities. She has also completed a University of California Veterinary School Don Low Fellowship in Emergency Medicine and Critical Care. Immediately after graduation Dr. Dee worked at the thoroughbred racetracks in San Francisco, then as a mixed animal practitioner. She has been in the San Diego area for over 18 years providing services as a small and exotic animal veterinarian. Dr. Dee has owned SeaCoast Veterinary Group since January 1, 2013.

So far so good! I brought my new GSD puppy, Otis, to this clinic for his first appointment and the team here is so welcoming. They’re so knowledgable and very kind. Otis had a great experience and he had a tough time leaving! We definitely look forwards to our next visit (although it’s for more shots… Not sure if Otis is excited for that…) and will recommend this clinic to others!

The team at seacoast vet are awesome! My dog recently broke her leg and I brought my dog straight to seacoast vet and they saw her right away. Right when I got in they gave her a pain medication injection so that she would not be in pain and splinted her leg up so we could take her to the vet hospital. They truly care about the animals they treat and are the only veterinary team I will bring my pets to.

Dr. Dee and her staff did a very good job handling our little Pom that we rescued at the ripe, old age of 9 years old. He had major dental work that was required and after 5 weeks on anti-​biotics he finally got it taken care of. He is in recovery now lounging at the house but we expect him to feel much better, very soon. We appreciate the accessibility of Dr. Dee (always a quick email away) and the friendliness of the staff.

Dr Dede has taken great care of our dog and cats with genuine love and care. She offers down-​to-​earth advice and will not recommend treatment that is not needed. As a physician, I trust her completely!

It boggles my mind how this place isn’t rated overall with 5 stars!
I decided to take the time to write a review for Seacoast Veterinary Group, because they deserve a 5-​star review after what they did for me last Friday!
I have a White-​Shepherd puppy that just turned 1 two days ago. Unfortunately, our pup has bad separation anxiety when she’s left alone. Last week I had to crate her while I was at work, since our backyard is being remodeled.
When I got home from work Friday afternoon, my dog somehow managed to move her crate to the other side of the room, rip up the carpet, and was covered in blood from the left side of her face.
I immediately took my dog, Nova, to Seacoast Veterinary Group and they saw Nova right away. The received top notch service from people who genuinely cared about what happened to my dog.
Overall, they did a fantastic job and were reasonably priced. I’ll recommend this veterinary group to anyone in the area.

I gave Dr Bill, the previous owner, five stars, but stay away from the clinic now!!! I took my dog in for allergies, and they tried to pressure me into tests, tests, and more tests, in an attempt to rack up the bill. They utilize guilt tactics, trying to make you seem sub human if you dont follow their course of treatment.
As I said, my dog was having seasonal allergies. He always gets them. Rather than giving him the shot with me in the room, they insisted on taking him into the back. I dont believe they ever gave him the steroid shot (typically when he gets it, the effect is immediate, he stops scratching, and he drinks tons of water, but NOTHING).
When I called back later to voice my concerns, the snide receptionist, Richard, told me I would have to wait until the FOLLOWING week, as the doctor I saw was only on duty on the weekend. The vet on duty could not take two minutes to address my concerns!
So I had to take my dog to IB Pet Hospital for treatment! What Bullshit!
I am the Organizer for the San Diego Off Leash Meetup, and have warned all my members about this shady vet. Do yourself a favor and stay away!

Dr. Dee and her team are amazing! You can feel the genuine love for animals right when you walk in the door. We brought our Bully Pitbull here and they took great care of her. Cali being our first pet, I appreciated that Dr. Dee and her team walked us through everything. We all left feeling great.

I love Dr. See and her amazing staff. Everyone their cares about your fur babies and gives them the most awesome care and attention I’ve ever seen at a vets office. I’ve got a tiny chihuahua, a terrier mix, and a big fluffy kitty and I’ve taken them all there for everything from their first shots and check ups to teeth cleaning and spay and I couldn’t be happier with the treatment they recieved.

Dr. Dee is the best vet! and I can’t thank her, and her caring staff enough. I am so lucky to have found her. (And my dogs have all fallen utterly and completely in love with her.)The prices at Seacoast are fair and much less than other vets I’ve been to. Dr. Dee cares so much about her patients and always follows up with personalized emails and phone calls to check in.
Not to be too emotional here, but I had to bring my first dog to be euthanized at Seacoast. Being a Registered Nurse in an Intensive Care Unit, I knew when my baby was ready to be free of his failing body. Dr. Dee and her staff shared the loss with me and helped me more than I could ever put in words. If not for this Vet, I wouldn’t have adopted any other dogs and I would be missing out on the joy and love they share with me each day. If you love your pet, bring them here. You can trust that you will be treated as family.

We love Dr. D! I have 3 dogs and 2 cats that are all cared for by the staff @ seacoast pet clinic. I’ve had my male cat and mini poodle, and my late schnauzer memo, all neutered by Dr. D; she explained in detail what to expect and made sure to check up on us regularly to make sure all was well. I get reminder emails so my pets are never late on vaccines, as well as happy birthday emails! Going to the vet is stressful usually for my babies and I, but they enjoy comming to seacoast! We love our new vet and look forward to long health lives under her care.

I literally tell everyone I know who is seeking a vet to come here. I moved a half hour away, and I am still going to take my pup down there for his check ups. They are SO worth the drive!
Wonderful staff. Extremely friendly and good with pets and parents. Really affordable. Also have an online website where you can view your pup’s records and reorder medicine. Only the best for my little fuzzbaby!

So far so good! My poor doggy has fleas — he has never had them ever — we are from AZ and we just don’t get them there! I called sea coast vet and dr see answered very helpful and I’ll be bringing my Ricky there tomorrow to pick up some topical flea medicine — I hope it works I feel so bad for him :(

Dr. Dee and the rest of her staff are phenomenal. We’ve been taking our dog and cat here since we moved to the area last year. Our chihuahua is very skittish when it comes to these trips (probably due to past experiences with mediocre vets) but she’s never had problems here. We love them and won’t go anywhere else while we’re still in the San Diego area.

We recently got our dogs back and needed to find a vet right away because we found fleas on them. After reading the Unilocal reviews and most importantly, the Vet’s responses to the reviews, we decided to go with Seacoast. It also helped that we live less than 2 minutes away. I called on a Friday morning and was told that unfortunately, they could only get us in on Saturday unless I could come right away. I made it work and lugged the two Aussies and 9 month old twin girls over to see Dr. Dee. Everyone that works here clearly likes animals. Both the dogs and twin girls were greeted with equal fanfare!
They got our records from Virginia, where we moved from, and each dog was seen individually. We were correct on our flea assessment and both dogs were treated for fleas, as well as given several exams that had lapsed. We were in/​out under an hour and one of the workers even helped me put the dogs in the truck.
The thing that really set this place apart was the follow-​up. Dr. Dee sent us an email with the diagnosis, treatment, and recommendations for future visits. It was the first time we’d received that kind of follow-​up.
We have had several more interactions with Seacoast Vet and they have all been positive. On our last visit to check on the status of the flea treatment, Dr. Dee even came outside to meet my husband. What a nice touch!
Did I mention it is only 2 minutes from the house? How much better can it get? A true piece of mind knowing our pups have great care that is close and that will respond at any time of day.

My family is from Coronado and we always travel to IB just for the compassionate people at seacoast vet! I don’t know about you guys, but my dog is my LIFE. I’m always so nervous even when he just needs vaccinations and walking into seacoast makes me feel so much more confident that my dog is in the right hands. They have always treated us with professionalism and nothing but open arms. We have a small Maltese and a big ol’ pitbull and this wonderful vet and her assistants treat them both equally and amazingly! My pitbull melts with all the attention! Will never allow my dog into another vet’s care. 10 stars.

Still expensive but they hired a wayyyy better staff & they are more understanding when I cannot afford to do a lot of tests. I’ve taken him to other vets & they were just as expensive. I guess it’s a California thing. (Originally from Nebraska) but my last 2 visits were really good so I may have misjudged concern for my dog & cost as pushy & trying to make $.

My dog Molley was having a major flea problem and I tried all the over the counter remedies but nothing was working took her to Dr Dee and they gave her Comfortis and like magic she has not had a flea problem since, happy friendly staff would recommend to my friends. Also got her shots and she is a happy dog!!!

We were trying to find a vet for my moms new dog. We received so many different recommendations for different vets in Imperial Beach, South Bay and Coronado but every time I looked up the Unilocal reviews, the reviews always had great reviews along with horror stories. I finally decided you can’t always rely on Unilocal reviews… You need to figure it out yourself. With that said, here comes my Unilocal Review (lol):
I decided to try the local Imperial Beach vet here at SeaCoast Vet Group. Right off, the staff was super friendly to Rocco and were very helpful figuring out his micro chip registry.
We came in for Rocco’s 1 year consult/​health check up and to make sure he was up to date on all his vaccinations, rabies, flea, heartworm etc. Dr. Dee was very friendly and thoroughly checked Rocco out. She explained all her recommendations so that I could make informed decisions. Then her technician came in to review all the cost estimates and review each item (I love when businesses/​doctors explain items and don’t just try to force procedures… Caring for a pet becomes a partnership with the vet that way). I felt the costs are very reasonable and nothing seemed outrageous. I’m all about supporting local businesses and paying for good service.
The techs and staff were going take Rocco to the back for his shots and blood procedures, and I asked if I could be present. They were very kind and accommodating as they just wanted to make sure we were ok with needles. They kindly did all the procedures in the exam room with us present.
On leaving, the staff were very good about explaining any potential reactions that Rocco may have to the vaccinations and what to do.
This was a positive first experience with Dr Dee, and her friendly staff at SeaCoast Vet Group. We are looking forward to a great long-​term vet relationship!

I just recently moved to the area and took my puppy here for her first check up. The staff is so friendly and personable which was so nice and comforting! The prices are a little more than what I am used to but … Anything for my fur baby! Tomorrow she has a spay surgery… Will see how that goes!
Still loving this vet after months later! Everyone is so kind and they take the time to help you and get to know you and your pet!

I love Dr. Dee and so do both of my pets. Prices aren’t bad and they communicate very well with the customers with phone calls and e*mails.
The only down side is that the older lady at the front desk isn’t very professional and never listens to what I have to say. You shouldn’t be texting when I’m standing at the counter and you shouldn’t talk about other customer’s billing problems when I’m in the lobby.
