History
Established in 1987.
Dr. Schaefer was born and raised in Independence, Missouri. He is a proud graduate of William Chrisman High School. Dr. Schaefer attended Graceland University for two years before finishing his B.S. degree in Biology at the University of Missouri, Kansas City. He graduated as a Doctor of Dental Surgery, DDS, from the University of Missouri at Kansas City in 1987. Since then, Dr. Schaefer has made a commitment to advancing his skills and knowledge by attending many continuing education courses and programs. He is currently participating in a comprehensive nine-course curriculum involving esthetics, occlusion, and restorative dentistry at the Kois Center in Seattle, Washington. Dr. Schaefer is a valued member of the American Dental Association, Missouri Dental Association, Greater Kansas City Dental Society, and the Eastern Jackson County Dental Health Group. He is a former member of the Independence Advisory Board of Health.

Business Owner
David A. Schaefer, DDS was born and raise in Independence, MO and proudly chooses to serve the dental needs of that community. He graduated from the University of MIssouri at Kansas City in 1987 and went straight into practice.
Dr. Schaefer married Melissa Mader in 1987. They have one daughter, Kathryn Danielle (22), who is a graduate of William Jewell College and is currently enrolled in the Masters program at the Bloch School of Business at UMKC. They are active in the community through their church and their work with the Mader Foundation, a charitable organization that supports programs benefiting children in Greater Kansas City. Favorite things to do outside the office include cooking, golf, building sandcastles, playing with their four-pound poodle Willow, and traveling to Hilton Head Island, South Carolina.
