Jenny’s Salon and Spa

I have gone to Jenny for a few years. I have had several services from Jenny including cuts and colors, pedicures, and manicures. For the service she provides, her prices can’t be beat. For those on a budget who want great service, I highly recommend her salon and spa. It is in her home, but she has it setup so nice and I always feel relaxed and comfortable.
I have told many of my friends and they are happy I did. Highly recommend to anyone.:)

I give Jenny five stars because she goes above and beyond to provide a great experience. She does hot towels and aromatherapy when she washes my hair. She also massages my head while shampooing. Feels great!
I have been to places that offer similar service, but charge five times what Jenny does.
Plus I think Jenny gives me a better haircut than other people I have gone to. Jenny is the best!

I’m not sure why I waited so long to review Jenny’s Salon and Spa. Probably because I wanted to forget my experience. Then when her business popped up again on Unilocal,I had to do my due Unilocal-​diligence.
While her basement spa and salon are nice for the home (which she credits her husband to buying it all for her), the service is horrific. Just like Ana T’s experience, my brazilian wax was painful, messy, left me covered in wax and spotty hairs left. I’ve been waxing for 12+ years and never had such a poor job done by any esthetican. She insisted on being paid with cash or check.
She had a small display case of Mac makeup and tried to say she sells the makeup. I’ve been using Mac for 10+ years, and have had authorized artists do my make up. They will all tell you that while they are all backed by the brand, you must PURCHASE the make up from a department store (Bloomingdales, Nordstrom, etc.) or Mac Store. Never an individual. Curious to know where she got these from, as the brand should be alerted for this illegal secondary sale.
While Jenny herself is sweet, passionate and nice, I’m not sure who these people are who are reviewing Jenny with 5-​stars (must be her friends?). If you wax regularly and know what a quality brazilian wax is, I highly suggest staying far, far away from this business.
Someone asked me if I noticed an Iowa License for Jenny on display. I never saw one and would be curious to know if she’s even legally able to perform these services. Just another red flag…

I went to Jenny’s Salon and Spa for my wedding manicure and pedicure. I requested a wine-​colored shellac for my nails and Jenny gave me exactly what I wanted! She also styled my hair in a beautiful partial waterfall and curls arrangement! I’m very happy with the service and I looked gorgeous for my wedding day. Jenny’s pricing is very fair and I will definitely use her services again in the future! Thank you so much, Jenny’s Salon and Spa! :D

I got my pre-​wedding haircut done by Jenny not too long ago and the service was top-​notch! Jenny is a professional, and is courteous with a wonderful attention to detail. Her facilities are of very high quality, better than you would find in many other salons. I will definitely be returning here again. Thanks, Jenny!

Today I went to my first appointment at Jenny’s Salon and Spa. Jenny’s personality, and attention to detail in the salon, really lets you know that this woman loves what she does. It was a pleasure to be in her care. I went in for waxing. Had my legs, underarms, and Brazilian done. She was impeccable. The salon and spa are is one section of her home. About 800 sq ft. It is beautiful, comfortable, and completely separate from the living spaces. You are in an oasis of calm and pampering when you’re there. I will definitely be returning.
