History

Established in 2003.

Originated into the garage door industry as Island Door of Cape Cod, MA. My business partner Matt is running the show now (Island​door​.com). I had builder friends of mine construct custom wood doors from Mahogany, Spanish Cedar, Oak that withstood New England weather on Cape Cod, Martha’s Vineyard and Nantucket Island. Our slogan is «Wicked Doors for Wicked Weather.»

Now located in Irvine California as American Door Springs. Our team of licensed contractors service and repair residential garage doors of all makes and models. Our custom made garage door springs have our name printed right on them. All of our custom springs, rollers and cables come with a Lifetime Warranty.

Hello my name is John and I was born and raised in Southern California. I married a girl from Boston and moved to Cape Cod, MA. in 2002. At the time Holmes doors were the premier custom wood garage doors on the market. I made it my mission to produce a better door. My friends in construction had no work in the winter months on Cape Cod so I asked if they could build custom wood doors in a heated barn. Island Door was born. Our clients are custom home owners and builders on Cape Cod, Martha’s Vineyard and Nantucket Island.

Nine years later I turn over Island Door to my friend Matt Hamblin and move back to sunny California. With so many garage door companies in California to compete against I decided to get into the garage door service and repair business. I continued ordering the best parts and materials available from my supplier as I did back east. My springs with
