On their website, proper bike fitting is touted. So I went in to make a deal on a not-​so-​low-​end Trek. When I asked about fitting, was told it basically consists of a seat height adjustment, and on this «class» of bike the rest is pretty much adjusted properly out of box. A very incorrect answer, and cost them a sale. Hope Trek corporate is listening.

I was shopping at a nearby store and decided to drop into Jax bicycle centers to check out bikes. I have a new job about 3 miles from home and would love to commute by bike. This fantastic team member named Nate immediately offered me help. We spent about a good hour and a half talking and comparing bikes and even riding them around the center. I came in with no intention of actually purchasing a bike just yet and he did not pressure in any way. I had THE BEST experience ever and will definitely be buying a bike from him when the time comes and after my neurotic researching. Chris, another team member, was also very helpful. Thanks, you guys!

No offense to Jax… But the shittest parking lot ever! The clientele for this shopping center and the most self righteous, rudest, inconsiderate drivers ever! You need to drive in this shopping center in combat mode!

I bought a Project One Trek from the Jax in HB, and have taken it in for servicing here with my service contract. The sales experience was a smooth one (though unfortunately James is no longer there). There have been a couple of mistakes made during service, which is why it’s 4 and not 5 stars. However, management has always really gone out of their way to make it up to me. I’ve had to have warranty service a few times, and while it was a little slow sometimes, the outcome was always excellent.
I really liked the last manager, Greg, though he’s changed stores now.
In short, while I typically do most of my own maintenance, I’d buy another bike from Jax.

I bought a brand new, very expensive, Trek bike from them. They delivered it to me shifting poorly (due to a bent dérailleur hanger), the cable routing was just plain wrong, and the front rotor was bent or rubbing. They were very nice about wanting to «make me happy» but after about 4 trips to the shop I was fed up! If you’re looking for a really good mechanic, I highly recommend Terry at Laguna Beach Cyclery (excellent) or Miles at Cycleogical in Dana Point (outstanding).

come here for replace tire for my brother’s professional bike (I’ll say it’s really expensive one…)however, I’ll try to make a long story short since I knew ppl come here to get a quick look and review. （the shortest is: DON’T go this store)
1. They replaced a new tire, but it just not be sticked together very well. My brother almost got hurt when he was riding.
2. We directly sent it back and they promised to order another one for us.(this professional tire cannot be glued again) so we wait almost 4−6weeks.
3. After 4 weeks, they called and told me can bring the wheel to store. I did and wait for their call.
4. The thing is I had waited for ANOTHER 5 weeks (you’ll ask me why didn’t I ask or push them to make it sooner. The waiting time for 5 weeks to replace/​glue ONE tire is not normal. I DID call and try to request them, but they always told me they are doing it or it takes so many works to do for the profession tire… balabala)
5. following is the WORST part… after waiting for 11 weeks, I got call from them and told me to pick up the tire;BUT they failed to glue it (Yes, they said they glue it on the wheel, but for some reason they cannot make it) i got my wheel but it’s super messy with so much glue (they failed and no clean) also, I got the tire (which I paid in this store) of course, it looks not a new tire because they had glued it!!! After they gave me those two super worst jobs, they even told me“We didn’t charge the labor fee for this“
6. Waiting for 11 weeks, reorder another professional tire but they gave me not new one (because their bad skill), honestly, I cannot accept they messed up all of my stuffs and told me they didn’t charge me labor fee!
I appreciate if you read until now. I’m really seldom to write review on Unilocal (I gave two stars cuz I knew if i made it too low, then the system will hide it) please DON’T go this store. I promised I paid every penny on time and be patient to wait every minutes (6 weeks); however, they treat their customer like this.(super no responsibility)
If you need a bike store in Irvine, I will recommend to go others in Irvine. Here is SUPER WORST.

大家好,我知道Irvine有許多騎腳踏車的車友，我自己的家人只是單純的想換胎，就到這間店。我家人騎的車子偏向公路車（他以前常常參賽用的車子）長話短說，請不要到這間店來。我們花了錢買了一個專業胎，店家沒把它黏好，導致準備騎車不久就脫落（我知道很扯）
後來送回店裡又等了4週，新的胎才來；我把輪子帶回去準備黏新胎，他又讓我們等了6週（期間我有一直打去問，為什麼還沒好，他都告訴我～有在弄、這個很費工…等等）我還是乖乖等到他終於打給我去取胎（因為我錢都付完了，深怕他不爽就亂搞我的東西，只好默默的等）
最糟糕的是，他還是沒把新胎黏上，而且他還給我的是一個沾滿殘膠的輪子和沾滿殘膠的胎，他的理由是「這是很難弄的東西，我們沒辦法處理，請找別人」我告訴他你們怎麼能這樣，早不能弄就告訴我，至少不能把我的東西弄成這樣；他們說「我們很抱歉，但至少我們都沒跟你收工錢」
我聽的都傻了，因為他們留給我非常多的殘膠（非常慘）我家人很心疼東西、我們後來找到另加店又花了一筆錢把殘膠清理乾淨（另家店也非常不敢相信怎麼會弄成這樣）最後總算落幕…
把這次經驗分享出來是真心希望不要有人再受害，這樣態度的店家請抵制；當時他們雙手一攤是不打算負責的態度，我們很無助，但錢都付了而且他們拖了這麼久時間，我們真不知道該怎麼辦了…請不要去這間店。

Came here for a kid’s bike, twice. If there is no bike on the floor that fits your kids, then I don’t think you need to ask if they have anything else. Don’t waste your time here. I asked 3 times and 3 times they said no and did not ever follow up to see if I needed help. Maybe because we were looking for a kids bike then they did not think it was important though the bikes are like $ 200 each (maybe that’s not expensive enough) Poor customer service
Update:
Called a different store and they had kids bikes in store so we ended going there, though in the city of Orange, not too far. I wish I came to Orange Cycle in Orange to get my boy’s bike. I’m getting one today for my daughter. They have a huge selection for kids!

Since moving to Orange County I’ve been taking my bikes to Jax for service. They have been the only people to help me tune my DRCV suspension forks and shock. They know what they are talking about when it comes to new aftermarket upgrades, from OneUp components, Wolf Tooth’s goatlink, Vorsprung Corset, and Push Industries spacers. They have been the only shop to not look at me crazy when I want to do one off aftermarket mods like changing the ABP from 9 mm to 12 mm.
I recently got my bikes stolen and Matt has been more then amazing helping me find a new bike to get back on the trails. Slash 9.9 here I come. Looking forward to picking it up next week. Thanks again Matt you’ve really helped me out.

They did a great job re-​habbing my mountain bike and they know a lot about different bike parts. I appreciate the work they did for my bicycle.

We moved to Irvine last summer and then bought my son a bike for riding to school and I got one too for getting in shape.
I was very pleased to learn Jax bike shop was down the street. They provide service in addition to selling bikes.
I had them fix my younger sons bike and replace tires on another bike. Service was great, from top to bottom, and they call you right away when your bike is ready to be picked up.
I also like how the staff is approachable and don’t mind answering questions, even from folks like me who haven’t ridden a bike since middle school.
And they don’t try sell you a new bike every time you come in.

I should’ve left a review from my experience in mid 2015 but better late than never. I wanted to build an electric bike from the ground up with parts bought from other stores. I just came to Jax for the assembly of my ebike. Sean and Gregg were very professional and patient with all my questions and follow up tune-​ups. It took couple visits to fully assemble my ebike because some of my parts haven’t arrived in the mail yet. My bike was completed on April 15, 2015 and has no issues to this very day. I have over 2,500 miles clocked and not a single screw has came loose.

I’m so happy I went here for my new bike Eric was awesome! He helped me find the bike that best suited me. I love my new bike it has made my life easier and helps me stay fit. I would strongly recommend buying your bike here the staff is rad and are on point if you have any issues with your bike or just want to upgrade your ride. Talk to Eric he’s the best!

I had my road bike serviced there on 10 November, Sean in the service department did the work. I’ve never had my bike run so smoothly, took it on a 19 mile ride with tons of hills and it purred like a sports car. If you need your bike serviced correctly, Bring it there, bring it to Sean. Don’t forget to show your appreciation! Super cool people at the shop, I’ll be back for sure!!! Thanks a million.

The service is good, but the bikes are terrible — at least the one that I’d purchased there (Elektra beach cruiser, black, basic bike with no gears). The first month we had the bike, the handle bars were loose and the whole thing started sliding off. Should’ve returned it then, but I decided to give the bike a chance.
The pedals started getting loose as well. The tire had a flat, we brought it in, it wasn’t punctured by anything — the tube got pinched. Then the chains fell off a few times over the span of several weeks, nearly causing my husband to re-​injure his bad knee! We never got to use the bike more than a few times before something else rendered it unusable. We only use it on the bike trails in Irvine, not like we are doing stunts on it. We ended up spending $ 300 on a bike that has to be repaired every other week :(
We came here to buy our first bike thinking it would be of good quality since we are buying from a bike shop. But we were wrong, the bikes we’d bought at Target at half the price (more complex, with gears) lasted us several years before we started having problems. Since I’m past the 30 day return period, I will have to sell the beach cruiser myself. NOT a good experience for a first time buyer… I couldn’t believe our whole family was considering buying all our bikes here!

Service center is pretty good. Pricing is comparable to everyone. Still can’t beat Irvine Bikes!

Called in to see if they had a part in stock that I needed ASAP and Chris helped me out by holding the part for me at the counter. First time I have shopped here, I will definitely come back. Thanks Chris.

I’ve always known about this bike shop (I frequent Culver Plaza often) but never really stepped in until today. Overall, the store is extremely clean and organized, with each section of the store neatly arranged.
There are rows of squeaky clean bikes all around the store, and I looked at what types of cruiser bikes they had to offer. They mainly carried Electra cruiser bikes (about $ 520), from what I saw. Additionally, they sell biking gear and all types of accessories, such as bike baskets and bike bells.
The customer service was great, and one employee came up to me asking if everything was alright, even though I was only browsing.
It’s pretty expensive here, but it might be worth a look if you’re a biking fan!

My hubby took his bike here this morning and he came home right away.
So I asked him if he just dropped off his bike to replace the tire
and he said that the bike was fixed already.
What?
They replaced the tire for $ 17.00 and they finished it in few minutes without waiting
I never seen this fast service in U.S.

Sometimes I come in and the sales staff are really meh. Other times I come in and I’m greeted with a smile and attention to service. Weird.
Greg, the GM, is great. If you get him, then you’ll see what personal service is in a place where you don’t really expect it. Jax has a reputation for being too focused on customers’ pockets rather than on the customers themselves, and I can see that. I’ve experienced it, but I’ve been pretty happy with my visits here so far. Sure, it’s not always bright eyes and bushy tails, but hey, are you always happy and helpful? Really?
Some days I’ve received bland service, but I’ve never received bad service.
Prices here are a bit high, but they do sell higher end stuff (this isn’t the kid section at Target).
Clothing here is fair but limited. Quality sold here is worth the narrow selection. I don’t like being presented with a wide variety of crap. I’d rather have my choices narrowed down for me and I know that my time and attention will be used efficiently.
Gear is a bit more generous is selection, and the prices and quality offered are also a bit more diverse. You get some flexibility and freedom here.
Accessories and tools are lacking. I would really… REALLY like to see more tools being sold here. We’re not all mechanically disinclined, but I do understand that most people, even if they could work on their own bikes, won’t.
There’s a full service shop and they also do fitting for your riding position.
All in all, a nice store and a nice shop. The kids here look young but they seem to know what they’re doing. They all (maybe) ride so I’m glad I won’t be handing my bike over to some oaf who’s only cycling is done at the gym for 15 minutes at a time.

Jax Bicycle Center is a commendable neighborhood bike shop.
I recently wanted to upgrade the brakes on my Linus Gaston 3 as the stock pads were not as grippy as I like them to be. With that in mind I stopped by on a ride and spoke with their service manager (I believe it was Shaun?) who helped me find the correct pads for my caliper brakes and fit me in on the following Saturday for the installation.
I showed up at the agreed time and the pads we fitted and installed in less than 15 minutes. No fuss, no headache. They even charged me less than the full brake service since the calipers were brand new and all they had to do was switch out the pads! I got out for less than $ 50.00 and 20 minutes of my time. I can’t complain at all. This was also cheaper than the pads I ordered alone on Amazon. So yeah, Yay! I’m a fan.
I will most likely make Jax Bicycle Center my neighborhood stop for any adjustments I need to make on my city bike.
