Love the products. Hate the customer service. Each and every time I’ve shopped here, the employees have been extremely rude. I don’t feel welcome at all! Luckily for them, i love the products.

Giving this place 1 star is a stretch. Rude rude rude young man at this location. The cashiers aren’t too friendly either. Newport location rocks.

Amazing customer service, thanks for standing behind your products 110%. More than a year ago I received a very nice Sur La Table remote digital thermometer from my daughter as a gift. I had used it many times and loved the product. Awhile back I had a flare-​up on my grill and the thermometer overheated and never worked since. I brought it into the Irvine Spectrum store to ask their help in determining which part had gone bad. They could confirm the problem but even on-​line could not identify a fix or replacement parts. Also that model was no longer available. To my surprise and amazement they offered an exchange, they were able to confirm the original transaction by name only, well past a typical warranty period and exchanged it for the full original purchase value. It is rare to receive such exceptional customer service and kudos to Michael for his efforts and quick resolution. I will definitely look for more chances to purchase from Sur la Table — great job, you exceeded my expectations today and I appreciate the value in the service which you provide to your customers and the way you support your products. This is also a testament to the customer service culture and training which Sur La Table provides, very rare indeed.

A Williams-​Sonoma-​esque store with a bunch of kitchen-​related stuff!
Their appliances are on the pricier end of the spectrum, so if you’re looking for a $ 30 toaster oven, this isn’t the place. But they’ve got everything from fun cheese plate tags, decorative cupcake holders, fancy wine glasses, and snow cone machines, to more serious culinary items like high quality knives, expensive cookware, and top-​of-​the-​line kitchen appliances. It’s the kind of store where you can pop in with no grocery list and find a bunch of things that you don’t really need, but really want! Not a huge store, but they pack a lot in to the space they have.

Very good customer service. There are sales associates all around the store and ready to offer you help. I think I interacted with each one as I walked through the floor, and in a non-​invasive, helpful way. They were all helpful and nice. One of the sales associates offered me a nice cup of illy coffee made with one of the jura coffee machines.

My husband and I purchased gifts for our family from this location the weekend before Christmas. We shopped at several different stores at The Spectrum before returning home and realized later that night that we had lost my husband’s bag from Sur La Table. He returned a few days later to see if anyone had happened to turn in his items, or buy replacements. No one had returned his lost items, but the store manager was able to look our order up in the system and replaced everything. Thank you for the amazing customer service! Your kindness was such an amazing gesture, and definitely helped alleviate some frustration and stress for my husband.

Stopped in to see what was new for the holidays. Staff are always friendly and helpful. Only purchase I made was a salted caramel cookie… OMG…unbelievable!!!

I love this place. I have shopped here on many many occasions. This one star review goes to the awful service I received (or lack there of). This is not the normal location I make my stop at, I usually am over at South Coast but for the sake of convenience, I thought id stop in since I was passing by.
My partner stopped in on 07/​31/​2015 in the early afternoon to take a look around since we are on the market for a new coffee press. Started our wondering around on one far side of store as to make my usual rounds since there is so much great stuff to be seen. Immediately upon entering, I noticed that there was on older weathered woman who was leaning on display table that was at the cash wrap as if the cash wrap was going to roll away if she moved. There was another woman behind the counter who was talking to her about personal issues. After a solid 10 mins, the older woman walks over and asks if we needed anything. She asked in such a way that seemed forced. Like when you tell a child to apologize for doing something bad, even though it was well deserved. My response was «no thank you, we are just going to take a look around». She immediately turns and walks back to engage into that personal conversation. My partner and I looked to each other in disbelief. It gets worse. We make our past them and they both stand silent. About another 10 mins later I ask the other woman about coffee presses. I didn’t ask the older lady since the attitude we experienced previously was so poor. The older woman then chimes in and says «well, what kind are you looking for» again with the attitude. I got the feeling she didn’t think I can afford anything from that store. Let me remind you miss, you are the one working retail. She then goes on to list all the different types of systems they offer again with a sarcastic and rude tone. Finally I had to cut her off and I asked the other woman if she can just show me, instead of making me pick one before she told me where all of them were.
She left such a sour taste our mouths, we shortly after left without making a purchase. I found a press that I really wanted at a price I was going to pay. Instead, I made it over to crate and barrel in south coast and spent a good 60% more and received the service I deserved.
She was just a miserable old lady who needs a lot of coaching in customer service. I will not be returning to that location.

Love this Sur La Table because there is lots of parking, just wish they opened later on Sundays. Service is excellent and always so much to look at. Their own line of Sur La Table items are very affordable.

One stop shop for all your cooking needs. Recently discovered this store and I am now addicted. So much kitchenware I never knew existed! Just bought a fork, spoon and knives set and a salt and pepper set. I’m not sure why I bought them, but they had a great sale! I’m a sucker for deals. So much inventory in this store. I can spend a good hour wandering the store.

I am not a professional cook. I do not have endless amounts of money to spend on kitchenwares. Yet, I found myself here over the weekend… in a sort of chef/​cook heaven of all things wonderfully helpful in the kitchen. The staff was very helpful and most everything is well organized. I bought a few tiny items for my kitchen. Who knew someone could be so excited to have a new set of ramekins? Vegan pot pies and crumbles here I come!

So many spatulas, so little time! I didn’ realize a spatula can be made into a thousand different ways. Just like the store, you will find all kinds of gizmos and gadgets for the kitchen you never knew you needed until you walk into Sur La Table.
I have purchased plenty of items for my kitchen here: Nielsen Massey vanilla extract (the BEST vanilla by the way), cookie cutters, aprons, unique grilling tools, cookbooks, etc. I find myself wandering in here while I’m waiting for my table at Capital Seafood across the alley. I try not to go overboard because it’s so easy to do so here. It’s pretty pricey, but quality is high, and the staff are helpful and friendly.
I usually wait for an end of season sale before I make big purchases here, and a lot are on clearance for up to 50% off. Not bad!
Just wish they had Target prices though. :)

I have wandered into Sur La Table a few times while walking around Spectrum. My latest visit was on a Sunday night en route to getting new sunglasses.
Sur La Table — French for «Holy *%!$ this is expensive!»
Just kidding it is French for «On the Table.»
Rohlinism: They should rename this place «At the Table», as in that is where you left all your money!
Sur La Table is a privately owned company based out of Seattle, Washington. It was founded by Shirley Collins in 1972, opening the first location in Seattle’s Pike Peak Market. Collins sold the company in 1995 to Investcorp. In 2005, Sur La Table became the second largest specialty cookware retailer in the United States behind Williams Sonoma, Inc.
The store always has a friendly staff that has treated both Chief (R.I.P.) and Kaya very well. The store is definitely dog friendly and your four legged family members can wander and sniff to their hearts’ content.
If you can think of it (and some things I didn’t even recognize) for your kitchen, this store has it. If you are a tailgater look no further than this item (
). Sur La Table even provides a pizza dough mix! There is always some espresso machine demonstration in the back of the store, complete with free samples of the finished product.
If you are into cutlery, this place has a huge selection of knives (
) for slicing, dicing, chopping or cutting your favorite veggie, fruit, meat, neighbor or spouse. (Oops … shouldn’t typed the last parts). They have some serious knives here!
Sur La Table has its own line of cookware, or you can choose from names like All-​Clad, Cuisinart, Demeyere and Emile Henry among others. They have a selection of electric appliances including Blenders, Coffee Makers & Teakettles, Espresso Makers, Coffee, Grinders, Milk Frothers, Coffee & Espresso Accessories, Food Processors, Grills & Panini Presses, Ice Cream Makers, Juicers, Mixers & Attachments, Pressure, Rice & Slow Cooker, Specialty Electrics, Toasters & Ovens and Waffle Makers. Sur La Table also has a good selection of Bakeware, Tabletop and Linens, Glassware and Bar, Housewares, Food and Outdoor.
They usually have some items on clearance or at a discount, but most of the items here are on the more expensive end. Walking around the store is one of the few times I find shopping fun, looking at all the unique items (including some I couldn’t identify) and occasionally picking something up for our home.
This store is a great place for the serious cook, but even people that barely know where the kitchen is will find this store very interesting.

I love Sur La Table… I’m not only a foodie but I LOVE to cook. This place has everything! From cocktail napkins and dish towels to pasta makers and kitchen gadgets you’ve never seen. I’ve bought so many things from here over the years and received many more as gifts and they’ve never failed to impress. I have their branded pans that can go stovetop to oven that are wonderful! I have cookbooks and gadgets, cutlery and utensils, and they’re top notch and well made. No cheap junk or generic crap here! I’ve also purchased gift cards here for others and they’ve always been happy. Through gift card giving I’ve introduced people to Sur La Table for the first time and now they frequent the place too!

Sur La Table has all the cooking gadgets you could ever want or need. Some items they carry I previously never knew existed. They carry high-​priced kitchen supplies, but they also sell their own brand items which are priced very reasonably.
Today when I went in someone was walking around the store giving out espresso samples. They also have out samples of olive oil to try with cubes of bread.
When they have stuff on sale, it’s usually a really good deal. Today they had cookie cutters for 79 cents.
Park in the structure next to Nordstrom, and you’ll be right across from Sur La Table.

In French, sur la table means on the table.
This store sells mostly upscale and high end kitchenware, cookware and tableware. Its location is sort of hard to find as it is somewhat hidden from the main path of the Irvine Spectrum. It is opposite to Capital Seafood, the dim sum restaurant, and across from the smaller parking garage connected to Nordstrom (NOT the main parking garage).
Items are quite expensive although the quality are good and the merchandise are all high end materials, so the quality does justify the price. Occasionally you can find sale items if you look carefully, and bargains can sometimes be found.
Many products are well designed and contemporary looking. You can find a kaleidoscopic selections of things like spatulas, cooking spoons, utensils, etc. (see picture). They carry a nice inventory of pretty much anything that you cook with or eat with!
Many Unilocalers raved about excellent customer service, but it was something that I really didn’t experience when I went there last Friday afternoon. Nobody greeted me, offered me any assistance or communicated with me in any way, although I was there a good 20 minutes. Note that I did NOT say service was bad, but just not what many Unilocalers raved about.
Overall I find this a great store to shop for high end products for your kitchen and dining room. The merchandise are absolutely lovely and the store was very neat and well organized. It was a good shopping experience but nothing really great or impressive.

It’s in «Irvine Spectrum». Right across from «Capital Seafood» dim sum place and parking structure. The directions there are freaking hard to find the shops. Sticker of «You’re Here» isn’t helpful at all.
Décor is like every other «Sur La Table». The shelves aren’t placed linier but similar items got together and closer. You can find the sale items in the middle of the store. The staff were friendly and not pushy.

In general, many of the tools are very colorful. Varieties in colors and sizes are great! You can find hard to find items. Tons of professional quality products. It’s fun to just take a look at the store. These are not all, but something I noticed.
Blenders: Colorful but not so many varieties in terms of bland. Mostly by Cuisine Art.
Pans: From fried pans to French made hot pots. Various sizes and colors.
Tools: Tons. It’s so fun to browse those tools.
Cutting boards: Tons — from wood to plastic (even with colors — for fish, meat, vegetable etc.). I prefer plastic ones to wood ones because it’s easier for the maintenance.
Cookie cutters: It’s nice that you can buy all kind of cookie cutters individually. Most places sell them only as a «bundle» deal.
Bakery tools: All kinds of molds, pans, measuring tools, sprinkles etc. are available. Baker’s heaven here!
Knives: They have tons of professional level knives (in the glass case). Impressive! You can find just cute knives, but good quality knives help you cut stuff so much faster and easier.
Chinas: Awwww… You can find all kinds of size and shape. Love it.
Books: Some books are available.
Seasonings: Not so many. (I don’t mind it). They seem to focus more on tools, not seasonings.

I do cook but am not a fan of too many stuffs. I like simple and minimalism. Japanese people love simple, easy, multi-​functional, and not bulky stuff for everything. I see so many kitchen gadgets that can utilize it for only ONE purpose. Many people here don’t even cook but have tons of kitchen gadgets. Do I really need a tool just to smash a garlic? However, sometimes I can find cool tools that actually help your cooking and can’t find at ordinary cooking tool shops. This is a cook’s heaven ;)

Many thanks to Unilocal friend, Eric H., for directing me to Sur La Table on my quest for truffle salt. Not only did they have truffle salt but it was significantly cheaper than Williams Sonoma for the exact same salt.
Sur La Table is one of those places for me like Container Store and Crate and Barrel, where I am usually in looking for one thing and end up buying all kinds of stuff I really don’t need because it seems too cool to pass up. I was so proud of myself for refraining from buying the happy face spatula.
This location is chock full of various kitchen ware, cookware, small appliances, gadgets, glasses, linens, food items, etc. It ranges the gamut from inexpensive to pretty pricey. I have been wanting some new salt and pepper grinders and of course the one that I really liked was a Peugeot grinder which was $ 80 for one grinder.
Besides the truffle salt, I ended up buying some cute heart dishes that were on clearance and was suckered into buying some gray salt chocolate caramels on the counter that were expensive but so decadently good.
Would give them five stars but they do not carry as much in the store like their sister stores at South Coast Plaza and Newport Beach. A fun store to check out with some very friendly and helpful sales staff to answer all your questions. I would like to go back and do some more exploring soon.

Stopped in to get a zester and a couple other kitchen gadgets. I don’t know how I’ve lived this long without a zester. I also took the plunge and got a Bob Kramer kitchen knife that I’ve been eyeing for the past year (he’s a master bladesmith and these knives are really well-made…and pricey). Good quality products here and plenty of inventory to choose from.
Staff here are really helpful. They took the time to show me various options and explain the differences between them.
