The Joy of Cleaning

I decided to call The Joy of Cleaning to clean my two story town home because I’m a new mom and the house cleaning had been put on the back burner. I chose The Joy of Cleaning because of all the rave reviews here on Unilocal.Well, I was quite disappointed with their service. Joy and her coworker were very sweet and kind but I thought they just did a mediocre job. I had to point out a few dusty corners in my master bedroom, it didn’t seem like they cleaned the grout (or the whole shower for that matter) in my shower, they left a ring in a toilet and when I pointed it out she said they didn’t have a pumice stone (good thing I had one she could use because if I didn’t, the ring wouldn’t have gotten clean). My shutters and parts of the baseboards were still dusty after they left. I asked for a regular cleaning and a deep clean but our ideas of a deep clean must be different because I didn’t feel the house was deep cleaned at all. I know they aren’t miracle workers as there are some things that couldn’t be cleaned due to the condition the previous owners left them in, but I still expected my house to feel cleaned after all the money I spent, which I thought was expensive in the first place. This was my first time using a house cleaning service and it was not what I was expecting; I felt like I did not get my money’s worth. Also, if I remember correctly, I thought I was told there would be three people cleaning instead of just the two of them. Once again, they ladies were very sweet and kind, but the quality of service wasn’t good.

Met Joy and Linda who cleaned our 3-​level townhouse in the Northpark community of Irvine. We were moving out and wanted our deposit back. Joy and Linda were so friendly and they did an amazing job of cleaning the home. I would definitely call on them again anytime!

Joy and Elizabeth cleaned my house today and I couldn’t be happier. They did a great job. I never thought I would find someone who could do as good of a job as I do. So glad I called Joy. And so happy that she will be coming regularly so that I can enjoy a clean house!

I very much need a cleaning service every so often because I’m busy with school, have two dogs and a disability so it’s harder for me to clean thoroughly. Joy and her staff are trustworthy and perform an excellent job!

All I have to say is WOW! I went out on a limb and decided to hire some help with the house, it was only supposed to be for one time. We were having guests and with having to pick everyone up at the airport, preparing food and watching my 2 year old twins, I definitely needed some assistance. This is when I decided to give The Joy of Cleaning a try and I could not have been more pleased with my decision. These guys rock! From scheduling, to the service, to follow up, top notch!!! I would’ve been satisfied with just having some help but these guys were present on so many levels. For these reasons we decided to move forward with regular service. Not only do we get a clean home but the kindness, sincerity and thoughtfulness of this cleaning company is beyond words. Thank you Joy and to your crew for what you guys do!!!

I had called Joy for an immediate need — I needed my one bedroom apartment cleaned, ASAP. With my grandmother in the hospital, cleaning my apartment has been so low on my list of priorities that I hadn’t touched it at all. And because I was missing so much work to go to visit my grandmother, my schedule? Not at all flexible, so when I called, joy didn’t have anything open. She told me she would call me back if anything opened up and I chalked it up to never hearing from her again.
So imagine my surprise when just a few days later, joy DOES let me know she can fit me in during the hours that work best for me. YAY! She kept me updated with her ETA so I was prepared for her arrival, and came equipped with all of her supplies.
I just needed a regular cleaning, and she did a really good job. I had mentioned my bathtub was sad (it was just so dirty) and I was amazed at how sparkly-​clean she got it. She was able to do my entire apartment in just over an hour. Awesome. The floors were so perfect you could see vacuum marks perfectly lined up on them. Cleaning artistry, for sure.
I will say, you need to communicate if you hire someone to clean. I was super vague about what I wanted, but my passing comment about my sad bathtub seemed to stick with Joy because again… It was just so clean. I think if I had mentioned some extra focus on the kitchen, that would’ve been perfect. It’s really all about communication.
The best part of everything — aside from how accommodating Joy was, how efficient she was, and quick she was — is that she was SO KIND to my dog. Super clean apartment with a super happy pooch? Sounds good to me. At the end of everything, she asked me to take a look and make sure it was all good which I really appreciated.
Having someone else clean my house is totally a luxury for me, but if I had the means to have Joy come back more often, I would do it in a heartbeat. As is, I’ll definitely call Joy the next time I need to do a big thorough cleaning so I can maintain a little easier! I’ll absolutely recommend her to anyone who asks, too. Thank you Joy!!!

I’ve been getting regular service from Joy for several months now and she is always pleasant to deal with. She’s also trustworthy and reliable and gets the job done. Good housekeepers are hard to find and I’m glad I found Joy. Highly Recommend.

Joy is the best! She has cleaned my home several times now (deep cleaning and regular cleanings). The results are always top notch – I have a nice, clean, fresh house at a reasonable price! Joy pays attention to detail, always asks you to inspect her work when she’s done, and is really pleasant to do business with. My schedule is all over the place but she’s always able to work me in somehow, which is much appreciated. She has my highest recommendation!

I found Joy through Amazon local. For the first two hour job, she was fast, thorough and very professional. I agreed to have her on a regular basis. Now, Joy cleans my whole house. She cleans areas that I wouldn’t even think of. She is always on time, texts me to remind me that she is coming, and couldn’t be more thorough. I’m so grateful to have the help, and feel completely safe leaving her to do the job while I do errands. Even my dog loves Joy… now that’s the proof of the pudding!

She just cleaned my empty condo and did a good job. She was on time pleasant and thorough. There were a couple of small spots that were missed but she corrected and cleaned them right away. EveryThing she cleaned was cleaned to satisfaction. I will definitely be using her again.

The wife and I decided that we needed to hire a housecleaner and after trying out several different ones, we decided that Joy was the one. She’s professional, prompt, and most importantly, she does a fantastic job. We tried other services before Joy and they 1) took forever and still did a half-​ass job or 2) wanted more money to clean the entire house (which was annoying because they don’t tell you that up front). She’s also very accommodating which is a huge plus for us. We use her regularly now and love coming home to a clean house. For anyone looking for a housecleaning service in the area I would highly recommend giving her a call.

I gotta say, I am more than satisfied with the service! This was the second time having Joy come out to clean the house for open house, and she did an amazing job. I’ve worked with two other companies in the past, and both had issues (the first one took waaay too long – over four hours with TWO people! Plus they charged an arm and a leg. The second one severely damaged my hardwood floor, and I had to replace the floor as a result.) But Joy worked by herself and finished the job in just 3 hours! And it was a thorough cleaning (she showed me the amount of dirt she vacuumed up afterwards and it was embarrassingly a lot. I blame my dog. LOL) Another thing I love about Joy is that she is very accommodating to my busy schedule, even coming at 5 or 6 am if needed. AND her rate is VERY reasonable. I will definitely be calling her for any future cleaning needs!

I used The Joy of Cleaning after my Dad’s very large, surprise birthday party. I had to fly home a couple of days after his party and did not have the energy, nor inclination to clean up the post party mess (and my Dad is too old to do it).
So glad I made that call! Joy showed up, cleaned up and was affordable. I recommend The Joy of Cleaning to anyone needing help with a mess or even maintenance. I wish this cleaning service were closer to my home!

I took a long weekend from work, and decided that I didn’t want to spend the weekend cleaning. I have a three bedroom, two-​and-​a-​half bathroom, two story house. While I generally do my own cleaning, a little help and professional expertise couldn’t hurt. I looked around Unilocal,and found Joy along with three others. While the other two cleaning companies had good reviews, Joy was the first to call me back. Joy let me know that my house would take about five hours. She also offered the lowest price.
Joy was on time (9:15am on Saturday morning on a ‘9 — 9:30′ ETA), polite /​pleasant (which is not a consistent trait, based on other reviews I read), and reconfirmed the work we discussed on the phone earlier by walking through my place before she started work. All of this I appreciated as I’m in a client-​facing job as well. My girlfriend and I stayed out of her way, which was easy to do; but, she was willing to answer questions we had about different cleaning techniques we could use when she wasn’t here.
Joy took longer than she had told us, but also called that out before finishing. Again, I appreciated the update. What I appreciated even more was that she was completely willing to honor her estimate that she initially gave me over the phone – and had confirmed before starting – saying the mistake was hers. My girlfriend and I were very happy with her work, happy to have her in our home, and plan on having her back on a monthly basis. We had originally only planned to have her come by once.

Let me first start off by saying that I usually clean my house with the help of the hubby because … for one, I think we do it better and two, I’m embarrassed of the mess that we make as a couple … with 3 dogs!!!
The hubby and I were leaving SoCal for new adventures and needed to sell our house quick! We left quite a mess in the midst of the move and didn’t have the time or energy to clean up after ourselves. Again, moving across the state with 3 dogs was chaotic enough and I didn’t want to deal with cleaning as the last step.
I decided to give The Joy of Cleaning a call because my friend said that they do a great job … a friend of whom I know is quite messy. =) That being said, I wasn’t embarrassed to give them a call. I mean, I was leaving out of town and really never needed to see them again so I figured why not? Have them clean so that we can be on our way!
TOTALLY WORTH IT!!! I met the cleaner at the house and let her in to do her magic tricks. I left her there while I ran some errands and by the time I came back in a few hours, she was done and seriously … the place was so clean that it looked better than when the hubby and I clean it. =(That says a lot because now I second guess my cleaning skills. I was relieved that was a huge task that we didn’t have to worry about!
I wish I heard of them sooner and would have had them come every other week … I didn’t feel embarrassed or judged by them like I did when I used other cleaning services years ago. =) Super professional, on time, and great communication! If I ever move back to SoCal, I will definitely use her again.

I have used Joy for almost a year now. She is the absolute best; prompt, professional, effective, and all kinds of sweet. I have recommended her to several friends who also rave about her. You will not regret giving Joy a call!

Normally I keep my house pretty neat but there are times I don’t have the time or energy to upkeep my housework. That’s when I call Joy for help. She does a great job cleaning the nook and crannies that I can’t reach or get it clean the way I want it to. Plus it’s a great feeling going home after work to a clean house knowing that I don’t have to worry about housework.
I have been using Joy’s cleaning service for a couple months now and I am very satisfied with her work. She provided her cleaning services for my house and cleaning up after some of my house parties. She’s very affordable — mind you, I don’t make six-​figure salary and have a set budget. She works with my budget and will work with yours too. Oh btw, I live in Long Beach and she drove from Irvine to my house to clean so she’s very accessible.
