Autoworks of Issaquah

We’ve been bringing our 2 cars here since we moved to Issaquah about 3 years ago. They have always been decent– nothing fantastic but nothing specific to complain about either. However, earlier this week I brought my car in for new brakes & an oil change, which they quoted me $ 540 for. I asked them to check on the wheel bearing and when they called me back, they said it was fine but my headlights were out & it would now be $ 760 for everything. $ 220 to replace headlights?! I laughed at him and said I was fine changing them myself. Then the tech started arguing with me about how complicated my car was to replace headlights and that they basically had to take apart the front of the car so that’s why it cost so much and there was no way I’d be able to do it myself. Well, it just took my non-​mechanically inclined self 45 min to do it. An experienced mechanic should be able to do in less than 30 min… Meaning their billing rate is $ 400/​hr!!? The whole thing is ridiculous and I resent the fact that when I declined their service, they were so obnoxious about it. Suffice it to say, we will not be going back there. Good work losing a repeat customer, guys!

My Mazda 3 had some issues and needed fixing right away. They were able to diagnose the problem and fix it the same day. Explained all the nuances and provided a clear line-​by-​line explanations of the costs.
Followed up with me a few weeks later to make sure my car was good!

I needed a new radiator for my 1999 Lexus RX300 and was hesitant to go to the dealer because they tend to be expensive and the car is pretty much a «farm truck» these days. I decided to give Autoworks a try. They gave me an estimate and completed the job in less than a day for a little less than the original estimate. I will use them again.

I can highly recommend Autoworks. I’ve used them for many years. They are honest and dependable. They will let you know if anything is wrong, give their recommendation, and let you decide. And their recommendations are always reasonable. Please don’t expect rock bottom pricing. They are good folks doing good work at a price that’s more affordable than going to a dealership or places where they recommend a little too much work. For people living around Issaquah, this is the place to go.

We have taken our various cars to Autoworks of Issaquah for years now and they are the best. I wouldn’t go anywhere else. They really bend over backwards to make things easier for their customers, from arranging for a rental car for me when I needed it, to talking me through a mechanical problem I experienced while out on the freeway, they have always given me their best. They even take me home when I have to leave my car at their shop and have picked me up when it was finished. Autoworks of Issaquah really epitomizes what a small, well run business can be.
